Afternoon all,
I was made aware by a friend that Samsung Pay now works in the UK, the problem I have is that
1) I cannot see the app in the market (Gplay or Galaxy)
2) After sideloading I get the following error when I open the app.
:Invalid SIM Card
Failed to read your phone number from your SIM card. Check your SIM and try again.
A little bit lost on where to go from here.
Phone Spec:
SM-G935F ZKAXEU
AP G935FXXU1DQD7
CSC G935FXEUDQD1 [XEU]
Kernel : 3.18.14-11104523
Android 7.0 Build NRD90M
Not rooted
Knox 0x0 (Untripped)
Any help would be appreciated!
Which ROM do you have installed?
I have SuperMan ROM, and Samsung Pay is working fine, in other roms I had the same problem that you.
With SuperManRom, I installed, changed the CSC to my country, and turn on the "Magisk hide" and that's all, working.
I do not readed before, you rom is stock not root.
Well, the other question is, do you tried to restart the application, delete memory cache and data?

I think it's because your on XEU Firmware.
I'm in UK and on BTU I'm rooted but can install Sam pay from play store fine
(Also no SIM number in settings)
BTU = direct from Samsung ( I purchased from giffgaff)
XEU or any other UK related csc = not direct from Samsung
So things might arrive slower for you
( Ignore that it says I have s8 I'm on an s8 port )
I am on BTU ... no root ... and I have the "no SIM number" .... problem

Play store says it's incompatible with my device
Re-Flash
my guess is the firmware!
download the lastest BTU (UK-unbranded)
flash it once then:
1 - set up the phone and factory reset the device fron settings app.
2 - power it off on the new setup screen.
3. hold down the power + home + volumeUp
4. check which CSC the phone have.
5. if it's BTU = setup the phones for usage.
if it's not BTU, then clear chach and flash BTU from beginning. and try again.
when all this annoying thing is done
after seting up the device. download Spay from playstore or apkmirror.com
that's what i would try.
if you use odin then the phone should not be rooted
(just have to say, everything is on your own risk)

As I said before ... I do not think this is the issue
It could be the SIM card age ....
I am on BTU ... original ... UK
No rooted
Stock ROM
I cannot read my phone number from SIM with any app and I cannot use Samsung Pay ......
I have ordered a replacement SIM which will be here in a few days so I will update, if not I will go down the reflash route.
Will let you know how it goes!

Hello All,
I have S7 edge bought from Singapore. I have downloaded Phone Info app and following are the details :
Product Code : SM-G935FZSUXME
CSC Code : XME
Available CSC Codes : CAM, GLB, MM1, MYM, SIN, SMA, STH, THL, XME, XSP, XTC, XTE, XXV
CSC Country : Malyasia
I have got Reliance JIO card and trying to activate it. Unfortunately I cannot do it since current version of firmware does not support VoLTE. I need to move it to some firmware which supports VoLTE.
Let me know if you need any other information in order to give me suggestion on how can I activate my Reliance Jio card, without rooting the phone. In case rooting the phone is the only option, I would like to know if I would continue to get the updates given by Samsung in future ?
Thank you in advance.
Yes it is possible to do it without rooting you just need to install the CSC Firmware of the country you want to change it to, using ODIN i have mentioned the steps in a previous post its not a big problem and very easy to do.
PS- the India Firmware supports VolTE but you must ask if you can install it over even if the phone doesnt support that version, i think you can but i am not sure

Hi Utkarsh,
Thank you for your response.
Whom should I ask ?
See the thing is i have a solution, and i know the Indian firmware version supports VOLTE, It is about finding the firmware version of the CSC that the phone supports.. What i am not sure is if you can install a CSC fimrware that is not supported in your phone, for that send a PM to mods or people who know. I will list the steps that i did
- You dont need to flash your ROM, you can change your firmware to INS CSC and it works.
1) i used the Phone Info App (Download from the Google Play Store) and saw what CSC Codes were available for me to change to.
2) I downloaded a new firmware from Sam Mobile - You can google for them entering your model no - G-935fD, i am not sure if they are available here in XDA as well
3) My phone supported India CSC (You can see supported CSC's using the Phone Info App so i downloaded the India one it could be different for others.
4) I then downloaded ODIN and used the tuorial in this forum to flash my phone and change the CSC code.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SK3IMprKVQ this is the link with a step to step guide.
5) After that i factory reset my phone and downloaded the July Update Patch.
My phone after that has been able to make calls and i can see the VOLTE symbol, depending on the firmware it should either automatically come or you might have to manually enable it.
Hope this helps everyone else also. Factory reset usually helps and downloading the latest update too..

Hello,
I did see this post over here in XDA, but my issue is that my phone does not support India CSC. As mentioned in the original post in Phone Info shows me the following available CSC codes (Missing India ) :
Available CSC Codes : CAM, GLB, MM1, MYM, SIN, SMA, STH, THL, XME, XSP, XTC, XTE, XXV
Hence I am not sure if installing Indian firmware through ODIN will help or not. Do you know if that will work ?
I can confirm that is possible to change via Odin without root the CSC even to one which isn't currently available. Yesterday I've changed my CSC from ROM to ORO in order to have access to VoLTE and VoWiFi. I'm not rooted and OTA update it's working. One thing to cosider is that the phone will reset to factory settings.

Ok perfect. I am downloading the Indian version of the firmware. Will keep you updated. Just hope that my VoLTE get's activated !! Keeping my finger's crossed !!
Also, thanks for the quick response.
Depending on network, sometimes it's necessary to send a SMS or call a special number in order to activate VoLTE.

Hey I was successfully able to reset my CSC to INS (India). So thank you very much for that. But I am still not able to see the VoLTE option in my Dialer -> More -> Settings, which most of the people have confirmed that they see it.
I am on Reliance Jio and Idea in Gujarat, India Are you aware what should I dial to enable VoLTE ?
My phone is getting an update, just hope that it helps to get me to see the VoLTE option !!
It should be in Settings/Mobile Networks
If you phone is not rooted you needed Volte option in your device than yeah you needed INS CSC to get option in Indian Carrier.
So simple and best way is to Download your Samsung S7 edge INS firmware from sammobile.com and enjoy.
or you can try custom Rom so try exyfire Rom for S7 edge and than flash INS CSC whose Zip is available to download.
Just download the following zip file and flash it using TWRP. In the Aroma Installer choose Indian CSC option and you are ready to cruise on the Jio craze. No need to flash any FW

Dont worry just back up your phone, download the latest OTA updates and factory reset your phone , it should work seamlessly the Indian CSC does not have any setting to turn it on/off , let us know how it went

I am facing the same issue. I am still not getting VoLTE option. I flashed phone with latest Aug 2016 INS firmware from Sammobile which has July 2016 security patch. Once flash without factory reset, second time flash followed by Factory Reset. Still no luck.
Later check with Samsung and Jio Helplines and they say S7 Edge will not have VoLTE option under setting, it is active by default, but none has an answer as to why VoLTE logo doesn't show up? If i have to make calls, the same gets routed through Jio Join App and if i uninstall the App the calls doesn't go through at all.
Some Expert please help!
I have the Samsung S7 Edge SM-G935FD bought from UAE, (Made in Vietnam) and it has multiple CSC but not for India (INS not present in CSC list).
I was getting 4g but no Volte, so no calls/sms.
I read this entire thread last night. Got the latest India firmware.
Flashed as per post #42 of this thread. Wiped cache,
After rebooting, I got the LTE sign, but still no Volte, checked for latest updates, I was all up-to-date.
Put phone on flight mode and back on.
And voila, Volte!!
Thanks to @utkarsh_86 and @gandhipurav for this amazing thread.

hi every one interesting discussion, I am also facing same issue, but my handset is Samsung Galaxy S7 Activie (AT& T) version which has qualcom processor. Can I try INS CSC for Galaxy S7 India. The device is not rooted.

I'm in a similar situation, importing from dubai due to the recent price drop. Will be getting my hands on the device in 1 or 2 days.
I read in one of the posts in xda that you will have to just factory reset phone and insert indian sim and configure the phone for getting volte and spay. XDA link. Sounds too simplistic to me.
Can you please kindly mention what steps you took to make S8 work with Jio Volte and Samsung Pay. I'm familiar with rooting phones and flashing custom ROMs.
Thanks!

1. Power off and remove the sim tray.. Please ensure you have a Indian sim in the tray.. I used Airtel
2. Goto recovery , HOLD bixby button and Volume up together and power up
3. In recovery , chose factory reset .. This will give a warning and then reset everything
4. Chose power off in the recovery and insert sim tray with Indian sim .. you should do this before booting up as your CSC will be configured when you will start
5. Power on the phone , it may goto recovery again.. Chose to restart to system now
Everything will be configured to INS CSC now .. Samsung Pay works now ..
This worked for me , I had imported S8 from UAE . I don't take any responsibility for any damage in the process please .. just sharing what I have learnt from this forum. THANKS"

Yup, it works. I just inserted my Airtel 4g sim before even the first boot and the phone configured for Indian carriers. Later, I wasn't getting ota updates so flashed AQF7 update through Odin using home CSC which didn't factory reset the phone. I even got AQG5 ota update after this. Volte & Spay work fine.

Are you sure the procedure explained above works?! Seems too simple
What was the UAE firmware version. I read somewhere on sammobile that the samsung s8 bought from UAE cant be changed to Indian CSC, and I also read the you should first insert a UAE sim card into the phone and then later you can insert any sim.. lots of confusions. Please do let me know your thoughts.
I'm very familiar with rooting phones so flashing new firmware and CSC using ODIN isn't going to be complicated for me.
Yes, it's simple and it works. Now a days most of the firmware are multi CSC so it gets configured automatically. Make sure you put a India SIM before powering on the NEW phone and you may not need to follow the above procedure.. It will get configured automatically

It's being used with an US SIM currently. Will I ever be able to activate SPay in it here in India? Inserting an Airtel SIM (Indian Network) and following the steps you mentioned will change it to INS, thereby enabling me to use VoLTE and SPay?

I'm in a similar situation, have imported a Samsung S8 from UAE and would like to change the CSC to India. Will be getting my hands on the device in 1 or 2 days.

It works. Only that I didn't get any OTA updates for India even after a week. The firmware version was stuck in AQEB. So I flashed a newer firmware version AQF7 using ODIN, after which I got an update for AQG5.

This is what I did and it worked for me .. Please note , all of your data will be erased (I.e. factory reset) so take back.up if you want.
THANKS

Hi,
Appreciate your effort in letting us know what could be done in rectifying this issue. I have just bought an S8 (SM-G950F) & I have been using it in India. I didn't kind of notice it initially but as time went by I just thought I'll set up "Samsung Pay" and noticed that I could not get through it at all. The application would open and check availability and would immediately give me a reply stating "Temporarily Available, Try again later". Had been frantically searching for a work around I stumbled across your instructions.
Did exactly as you had mentioned but to no avail. Everything seems to the same as it was just before I did a factory reset. I don't know where I have gone wrong but if you could probably try to help me out. Just for my clarification, after the factory reset, are we supposed to set up the phone as a new one or can we restore the settings and applications. If you could let me know, as it has been very frustrating since the last few days. I haven't been able to use Samsung Pay nor have I been able to use the Oreo Beta Program nor any updates.
Will look forward to your reply.

That means yours is the US version.
My phone's model number is G 950 f, which is a international version.
Unfortunately this didn't work for my s9plus unlocked snapdragon usa version with indian carrier jio, I tried hard reset once with nio sim and twice with airtel sim, but all in vain.
I bought this phone from the USA about year and a half and I'm using it in Macedonia, Europe the whole time. It is a dual sim, but I'm not sure which country it is exactly from, Taiwan maybe I guess?
The model is SM-G935FD and the Baseband version shows: G935FXXU1APB6.
I tried updating it manually, but always says you're using the latest software version even though android 7 has came out a long time ago.
Can you tell me:
1. How can I update to android 7 ?
2. Why am I not receiving an update automatically, even though this feature was working when I bought the phone. I was getting regular updates automatically ever since I bought the phone up unti a point when the 7 came out.
3. If I update the firmware through an SD card or whatever method you suggest its best, will I continue receiving regular updates automatically after I install the v7.0 ?
4. How can I check what country is this phone from?
Lots of questions, would be glad if someone can clear these things up for me so I can understand better how this works with samsung and different countries models etc.
Thanks up front!
try smart switch on PC to update it... frend of mine had s7 flat and no update via mobile phone, as soon as I connected it to pc and turned on smart switch update came out...

I'm sorry for my noobish questions, but can you please explain to me how to choose the country of my firmware? Do I need to choose a country which I currently reside in? Or do I need to choose a country for which the phone was made? I just want to use English language, even though I use it in Macedonia, Europe.
Please kindly advise. Thanks!
1. How can I update to android 7 ?
i had the exact same problem as you smart switch n ota both said i was on latest software. All you need to do is goto sammmobile download firmware for your s7 edge model if your phone is non carrier or unlocked then you can download any carrier version. after that download Odin n Samsung drivers n view an odin flashing tutorial on YouTube.
3. If I update the firmware through an SD card or whatever method you suggest its best, will I continue receiving regular updates automatically after I install the v7.0 ?
I am getting all the 7.0 updates.
4. How can I check what country is this phone from?
if i remember correctly Its written on the smartphone box although u don't need to worry about the country all you need to know is the model number.
But to tell the truth there is no performance difference only ui change but still if u want to be on the latest version then use Odin. good luck.
I have flashed my s7 edge about a dozen times n haven't faced any flashing problem just be sure to use original cable n try not to use the computer while the flashing is happening. use odin in adminstrator mode n if possible kill extra background processes like chrome etc (not needed but i still do it just to be safe)

Just checked my phone with PHONE INFO app and there seems to be no CSC code?! All these field are empty:
Original CSC Code: blank
Firmware CSC Code: blank
Active CSC Code: blank
Available CSC Codes: blank
CSC Country: blank
I tried dialing *#1234# and it says:
"USSD code running"
but it shows some kind of error right after:
"connection problem or invalid mmi code"
and does not enter the menu with the CSC code. Tried restarting the phone, switching sim cards and what not.. Nothing worked and I have no clue what my CSC code is now.
My original box is gone and can't really see what country it was made for, but as far as I can remember it didn't say anything on the box. The title of the original amazon.com listing says: Internationally Sourced (Middle East/Africa/Asia) Version G935FD which doesn't say much.
I don't know what to do, I'm a bit scared to flash it with just about any country firmware. There's got to be a way to find more about this phoe CSC?

Download cpuz app from play store. From the app you will find what is your phone chipset. If it is exynos download any 935fd nougat firmware and flash it with Odin.basically 935fd is a unlock version. it's support all csc version and you will also get update how much I know.

On this phone you can't change the CSC. In the firmware there are only 2 CSC's: TGY and CHC (Hongkong and China).

Considering what people have been reporting (that VoLTE & WiFi Calling are working just fine when you configure it using the right SIM card) I would assume that it might work?

VoLTE and WiFi calling would work with Compatible Carriers but CSC won't change as there is no CSC for other regions in the firmware.

Can you describe it more? What does not work? You tried flashing PHE rom on BTU?
I'll explain myself better so you can understand my problem:
I have an S10 with rom Vodafone Spain, and I want to put the free rom PHE Spain. I downloaded the base to use the Odin installer for pc. Every time I've tried, the CSC goes directly to BTU instead of PHE (Spain). If I reinstall the rom PHE using the CSC home to not lose my data and configuration, it follows then in BTU, just as if I use the non-home CSC that resets the phone. There is no way, I have read that several users have been able to switch to PHE from their S10 plus, but with the normal S10 there is no way. Could you give me some clue as to why? I'm confused, the truth
