Hi,
I'm having an issue with my nexus 10.
I unlocked the fastboot loader from it with fastboot oem unlock.
But I think I bricked it.
But I don't know what I did wrong.
Everything went according to the description.
But it does not start
Even with the other tip that I found about starting the recovery modes does not work as well.
Please help, don't want to have an brick
OS: Nexus 10 Android 4.4.4
It started bevor without any issues.
Can you start it to bootloader? If yes you could flash a custom recovery or the firmware

If nothing else works, there are JTAG services (I'm guessing here since I have only really heard of people doing this with their phones but I suspect that it can be done with the Nexus 10).

Nah. That won't really do anything since that's really only for devices with radios (like cell phones). For example, if you wipe your EFS partition on a Nexus 5 by accident, and you don't have a backup, you're screwed. The only way would be to send it in or go to a shady place that would fix it for you.

What happens when you try to boot into recovery from the bootloader?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
There is an adb command to wipe the device you need to do that when you unlock the boot loader for the first time iirc.

Hi! I have Nexus 7 and I've used it for 4 months, it's on warranty. It started to lag couple of days and I rebooted it sometimes, but on the one reboot it didn't start Android and stucked on X logo, after another reboot it started a bootloop from X logo to Google logo on and on. After another reboot it stucks only on Google screen. I've tried to wipe data and cache partition, but it also stucks. I also tried Nexus 7 Toolkit, but it gets an error on unlock bootloader. I also tried to do it via Windows' cmd.exe with fastboot oem unlock, the same problem. I can't find any working method. Please, help.
You can use the toolkit to revert back to set stock rom. Download the stock .img from the toolkit and perform the flash. Make sure you boot to the bootloader to do this.
Entering the command fastboot oem unlock on a unlocked device will not do anything if the bootloader is already unlocked.

If I'm already unlocked (not rooted), what steps should I follow? I'm new to all this and, although I've rooted a phone once before, I barely remember what I did back then. I don't even know what you mean by "perform the flash." Can you provide some more specific directions? I have the toolkit downloaded. Thanks!

Ok - figuring this out slowly. Can someone tell me where in my folders I can find my bootloader file?

You can't find the bootloader file. It's embedded within the system. Unless you have the flashable zip then you can use that. Why do you need it anyways?

Hi mate*
Dunno if you got things sorted but I had the same problem last week. I'd let the unit run flat and stay flat for a coupla days and bootloop is the price I paid. So, I call Asus who inform me that it's under warranty and to send it in for repair. Fair dos to them that's good service but I don't wanna be without my Nexus for 2 weeks so I have another play with it having previously had no joy resetting it using power and vol up/down etc.*
I'd managed to get some charge into it by waiting for the bootloop to turn it on and then manually turning it off. Not sure how quickly yours restarts but I had lockscreen for 10 seconds or so before restarting the cycle. That said it wasn't long enough to reset to factory settings but it was long enough to turn off wifi. Dunno why I tried this, sheer desperation probably but after a restart with wifi off and a full battery I was able to access my stuff and back it up to pc.*
I then was able to perform a factory reset and set the device up again, including wifi and apps. Since then it's been good as gold (but I won't let it drop below 20% charge!) but as there's only 4 months of warranty left Asus are gonna let me send it in to have a new motherboard anyway - might as well as its been wiped anyhow. The last thing I want if for it to [email protected]#k up a week after the warranty's ran out.*
I hope this helps you or other searching for a fix bud, let us know *

Hi.
I Was on stock 4.3.
I unlocked bootloader and rooted it via nexus 7 toolkit v.5.0
Then via TWRP i tryed to flash aosp 4.4 and it gave me "error 7"...
So i tryed to go back to stock, but i didnt made a backup, i tryed to flash factory image but nothing happend.
What should i do?
On another toolkit, what it finish image download, it show: missmatch, flash canceled.
If you can boot into bootloader mode, you can flash a factory image with fastboot.
If you cannot, your N7 is a goner.
By older brother tryed to fix it... and he locked the bootloader...
How i can unlock the bootloader now?

If he was able to lock it, that means your bootloader is working fine and you can access your N7 with fastboot, whick means you can recover it by fastboot flashing a stock image.
Is there anyway whatsoever to maybe make use of the apx mode to unbrick it while fastboot is inaccessible????

Hi, nobody_nowhere...
I received your PM regarding the thread located here... if your Nexus 7 has gone into an unstoppable CWM bootloop, as happened to @Jagutherrschaften 's Nexus 7, then other than the suggestions I made at the time, I'm afraid I have nothing else to add... other than to try to break out of the bootloop, by repeatedly pressing the VOL DOWN + POWER ON keypress sequence. Theoretically (and as I can confirm, having had similar issues myself), this should break out of any bootloop, and boot you directly into the bootloader... from which you can run fastboot commands.
I very much doubt APX is going to help here... unless you have previously generated your own unique Nexus 7 'wheelie blobs' using the flatline procedure. These 'blobs' are generated on a per-device basis, and are NOT transferable from one Nexus 7 to another.
And even if you did have such 'blobs' (which are primarily used to resurrect a dead bootloader), I have a suspicion they wouldn't be of much use to you... given your bootloader is actually intact (if it wasn't, your device would be completely dead - nothing would happen... at all... not even bootloop).
Sorry I can't shed any light on your problem, or suggest anything that might resolve it.
Rgrds,
Ged.

Hi again, nobody_nowhere...
Well, there's certainly no harm in trying to claim warranty... you have nothing to loose.
Certainly, some here on XDA, and on other forums have succeeded. The question really is whether or not you have a hardware fault or a software fault. I'm inclined to think it's probably hardware related... in which case you should certainly be covered by warranty.
The whole business of flashing custom ROMs/kernels and any consequential screwups that might occur is a bit of a grey area when it comes to claiming warrenty... fortunately I've never (at least so far) been in that position.
With regard to getting out of APX mode... a long press on the power button should do it, as detailed here.
If you can't get out of APX mode, then your bootloader is almost certainly dead... as APX mode is the natural state the Nexus 7 defaults to in the absence of a working bootloader... with the expectation that somebody with the neccessary technical expertise and software ('wheelie blob's' generated by the flatline procedure, for example), will nvFlash a new one.

Right. So if I do claim warranty, how do I go about it? I don't mean the contacting htem and stuff. But what do I say to them to ensure maximum chance of getting the warranty?
I mean, I have voided the warranty by installing custom software on my Nexus. But is there any way I could actually logically persuade them to give me warranty? Or is it just luck? Hoping you get a not-so-smart technician to verify it is suitable for warranty?
And by the way, thanks for your informative reply
Could someone please offer some advice, i really am stumped on this one. I have a nexus 4 which is rooted has an unlocked bootloader and is running on the stock version of kitkat. Last week i changed network and as bizarre as it sounds when i got disconnected from three my phone bricked and got stuck on the boot logo.
Since then i went home and got the skipsoft toolkit up and running to essentially put a fresh rom on. Unfortunately no luck, i have gone into the bootloader and recovery,factory/wipe reset -- still no luck it's stuck on the boot logo. Now i realised that adb isn't working only fastboot which has also limited my options. i have tried multiple version of roms/recoverys etc.. they install which confirmed by the change of boot logo but that's it just hangs again.
Is there something else i can try? I would really appreciate some direction on it. Thanks very much in advanced.

I meant literally that i changed network from three to ee, which i also brought my original number over with it. The day my number transfered to ee my phone bricked and it's been stuck on boot loop since.
I have never used wugfresh before but i followed your instructions and spent sometime with it this morning. It's a very simple piece of software and i must admit i was feeling hopeful it might have fixed my boot-loop issue, but it hasn't. I have done factorywipes/wiped cache, flashed multiple version roms. As far as recovery i had TWRP running on my device, but for some reason i am no longer able to go into it only the bootloader. When i do click on recovery i got the android on its back with the exclamation mark, which obviously gives me the wipe options which i have done.
If there is anything else you can think of i would be greatly appreciative.

I am very grateful you taking the time to help me with the boot issue. But i have actually just managed to sort it, finally!
It came down to me changing to an older radio version for 4.4.4., then i installed a 4.3 rom which it worked! I then upgraded to 5.01 and hey presto it's back to normal.
Thanks again nexus root tool-kit is definitely an essential

Hi
Since Friday my Nexus 6P freezes on boot animation logo.
I never tried to root my phone, neither force an updated on it (First time I went in recovery/fastboot mode was this weekend).
Friday morning I received a notification for an OTA update, so I clicked on it to install it and from this point my phone never started up again.
I tried many solutions but none of them worked, so I deciced to ask here finally as my last resort..
What I've tried :
Fastboot flash fails "device is locked" (and fastboot flashing unlock fails aswell because "oem unlock is not allowed" in dev options)
Recovery wipe data/factory reset works but my phone won't boot either (waited for ~1h)
Adb sideload OTA.zip (MMB29P → MMB29Q) fails "Verifying current system... System partition has unexpected content"
Nexus Root Toolkit (Flash Stock + Unroot with options Soft-Bricked/Bootloop) doesn't work
I run out of options, does anyone have another solution ?
Thank you
sorry I don't have ansewer except call google play support 855 836 3987

Get to stock recovery using this guide, once there wipe cache partition then wipe data/factory reset. If that doesn't work call Google or RMA like error629 said.

if your bootloader is locked and you didnt enable ADB in developer settings, you're out of luck

Yes exact same problem. I'll try to contact Google or Huawei then..
So I contacted Huawei Support (since I didn't buy it from the Google Store) and they told me to bring my phone to a PSM. PSM took my phone in charge and now I have to wait ~2 weeks (they send it back to Huawei). I'll update the thread when I get it back, this might be useful to somebody.

That would be fraud. Have you tried adb sideload?
No not yet.. i tried researching about sideload.. but i cant seem to understand it.. perhaps do you have any guide on how to do it? Would be really happy if someone post a guide.

So i cant make adb sideload to work because i cant access my recovery mode. It can only enter bootloader and barcodes and thats it.. pls help.. sigh..

If that's the case there's nothing anyone here can do or say to help you, your only option is sending it back for repair. Hopefully a lesson has been learned here.
Good morning
We should make group called nexus 6p bricked devices since we all got same problem .
I read in Google forum that March update released and some users got same problem after flashing it
So we have to make topic also called ( warning read before flash your ota ) at least to help new n6p users .
Ok so i got my phone fixed by my dealer.. So far so good. And they knew that i fcuked up my nexus so they've told me not to reflash the system again.

I agree with this. Having an unlocked bootloader is insurance in case anything goes wrong in future.
Hi everyone.
After trying multiple custom ROMs for the Google Nexus 7 2012 (nakasi/grouper), I decided to flash the stock 4.1.0 factory image. However, as my Nexus 7 came with 4.1.2, I flashed everything in the 4.1.0 factory image, except for the boot.img, for which I used the 4.1.2 version. I used the bootloader included in the 4.1.0 factory image.
I then locked the bootloader, and booted Android. Everything was working fine, however after rebooting it, the Nexus 7 seemed to be hard-bricked. There were no visible signs of charging, and I couldn't access the bootloader, recovery or system. I was able to access APX mode, which my Windows 10 laptop recognized. Having hard-bricked a Nexus 7 years ago, I took precautions and used NvFlash to backup the proprietary files from my Nexus 7.
I've tried holding the power and volume buttons for several minutes, charging it overnight (with different chargers and via USB and AC), and even disconnecting the battery from the motherboard for a whole hour.
It was working ever since early September 2015, when I purchased it from TradeMe.
Can anyone tell me how to unbrick my Nexus 7? Help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what's the point of backing up NvFlash files if there's no way to restore the bootloader?
Have you tried using the Nexus Rootkit? I had a similar issue with my Nexus (2012 version) and that cleared it up.

Do you mean the Nexus Root Toolkit? Yes, I'm very familiar with it, but unfortunately as I can only access APX mode, the NRT isn't much use.
Yes, Nexus root toolkit* my bad.
Cursed be yon ancient technology... You say you bricked a year ago?
Have you used CMD and ADB on your PC?

I bought my first Nexus 7 in January 2013 and accidentally bricked it in October 2013. Then, in September 2015 I bought another one. In February 2016, I used NvFlash to backup the proprietary files from the device, which can apparently be used to unbrick it via APX mode. However, I have no idea how to restore the bootloader.
ADB and Fastboot aren't supported in APX mode, as APX operates on an even lower level than the bootloader.

Indeed. This is the place to look I'd say. However, I have no idea how to restore it either. Sorry my friend.
Aye... Thats no good. What purpose does APX serve if it causes the device to be inaccessible? I'm not entirely familiar with APX..

Neither am I. Apparently restoring the bootloader is possible on an ASUS Transformer, but that device has a different partition location, so I'm guessing I'll need the right number for my Nexus 7.
Maybe I should call it quits. I mean, I have a Nexus 4 in poor condition, and a Nexus 7 2013 (and my bricked Nexus 7 2012, of course). I'm thinking of buying a Motorola Moto G 2014 once I've saved up enough.

Yeah... the easiest thing would be to just leave it be... I just bought mine for $30 on ebay. In perfect condition. Do some looking if you really have your heart set on having it.
And I'd say its worth saving the extra bit and going for the Moto X. The specs are much much higher and its still fairly affordable.
Thread closed. After some experimenting, I finally reflashed the bootloader!

I've made a guide on XDA about how to do it, but type "nvflash -r --download 4 x.IMG" replacing "x" with a bootloader from a factory image.
