I'm fairly new to the s4 and haven't really explored all the possibilities with this phone yet as I've come from the s4 mini.
I was just curious to what fellow stock ROMs used regarding a custom kernel and what gave the best results I.e stability, oc etc etc
Thanks in advance

What gave the best results etc, that's not saying what the best ROM is its simply asking what they found in there opinion to give the best gains I.e overclocking, governors etc.

Yeah thats not restricted sharing your experience you can make it in general and yeah with kt kernel i loved something unusual wake screen gestures double tap to wake just like oneplus one and now im on googy max i feel for me it had slightly increased battery backup [emoji6]

Thread closed as there is no "Best" kernel, only what works best for you. The kernel you think is the best may not be the same as what others think is the best due to differences in how you use the device and what for etc. Therefore I would suggest trying out some different kernels yourself to see which one is the best for you.

There are plenty of Java Tutorials in the Internet. I guess you should read them first. Im also pretty sure that there are some tutorials about roms on XDA. You can find all of it just by using the search tool.

If you don't even know how to search for the needed info yourself without asking, you've got ZERO chance of making the "best ROM".
Most "developers" are just "modding" or replacing stuff with winzip. If you like stock but with some other theme and couple of mods this is your way togo. I myself am not very fond of this method an skip these roms. Personally im keeping my note stock till an official MIUI or CM rom arrives.

I have started a dev rom team called Super Charged Series. We are looking for new members to help bring the Super Charged Rom to more devices. We also need a themer and someone with experience with photoshop. IF you are anyone of these kind of people please pm me,
Thanks!
AW: Calling all devs, designers, and themers!
Could you please give more information about the rom?
What is the main idea of the ROM?
There a lot types of roms: cm , AOKP, miui...
What will be the difference in that rom?
I can help developing and have some experience with Photoshop, but I want to have some information...

Every Rom is aimed to be perfect, but none of them is really, everybody has different
Likes and dislikes.
If you really want to succeed you need a new idea, which is completely new.

Hey guess what?
A little birdie told me your ROMs are SuperCharged... and yet no credit and no link to my thread to be found anywhere
Trying to recruit ain't gonna get you far with those kind of ethics.
Well they are "super charged" but not with v6,you can take a look in any of my roms,if it was in their I would have asked you before hand and of course credit would have been given.

FYI, saying it has Super Charged tweaks without saying what they are exactly smells bad because either
1. people think that V6 is included and if not...
2. what you're saying actually means nothing at all and it's all just hot air.
btw it's fine to include it in any rom anyway as long as credit is given
Its build.prop tweaks ,I've stated it before. If you really don't believe me go ahead and look for yourself, v6 isn't in any of my ROMs. Instead of assuming that its included with out proper credit

In my experience kernel makes much more difference compare to ROM on battery life and its relatively easy to try few around (no wipe needed) just give 2-3 popular ones day or two and in weeks time you can come to conclusion
Hey guys.
Just seeing what would be the best kernel for sweet rom? Just want speed and snappy response. I mean, to tell you the truth, it's pretty dam fast in the stock kernel it comes with, just want more. Haha.
Thanks guys.

try them yourslef to see which performs best for you, every device reacts differently even with the same combo, so what works good for me wont necessarily work good for you.. now that being said i personally have had best results with lean kernel

Sweet man thanks. Giving lean a try now. Doesn't feel as snappy as SneakyKat or the stock that sweet came with. Do you have any abnormal behaviour? Have you guys had any issues with screen rotation?
Thanks again!

Hi guys.
Ive been surfing xda for a stock kernel that can run with the sammy stock. All i want it to debloat the rom a bit either myself or downloading a debloated rom and a custom kernel to try and save a bit of battery and lags. I want to keep all the s features at the same time though. Except the stupid things that are no use for anything.
Could someone give me some guidance on the subject. Mainly for the kernel and rom that does the things i listed above. Im new to the note 4 so not too acquainted yet.
Cheers beforehand to any help received.

the best suggestion I can give you, is read, and read....and read
If you read a lot, you become wiser. Then, you get to know, what is a kernel, what you can expect from a kernel and what does not make sense to expect from a kernel

you ask for two contradictory things that no kernel in the world can give you.
You want good consumption or good performance? The settings for one of them, implies bad results in the other one.
