It should be GP Edition or GPE. It's Google Play Edition.

Haha, agreed. Choosing a ROM often takes a lot of searching. You can't really ask questions like these, everybody has different opinions and tastes
Is there a way to put pure aosp jellybean 4.2.2 on my Samsung galaxy S4 without having to buy the Google edition? Thanks for the help in advanced!

Yes wait until it's released and then flash a copy of its rom that will almost certainly turn up on here

Has anyone swapped to an AOSP/AOKP ROM and run Watch On? I want Carbon back on my i9500 but I don't want to lose this app... I love it. I currently have both the necessary APK's backed up on my SD so I can install after the flash but was wondering if anyone else tried this and if I should do anything other than have the Peel.apk and the WatchOn.apk backed up.
If it doesn't have the touchwiz framework built in like on the Google edition ROM the watchon app will not work

hm. Just tried to run it on Mahdi and I'm getting same FC's on D803. Was running fine on Dirty Unicorns and Paranoid Android, though 0.o

Cheers mate, I'm about to reflash PA as i haven't tried it since early Jan builds, Was on Dirty Unicorn and is one of my favourite roms thus far but had issues with proximity on d802 (Kept unlocking in my pocket), will see how it goes on PA.
Still no go, don't even get the game to launch on pa

I've been using both SlimKat and Mahdi and in both cases Asphalt ran just fine. Actually, I might add that the game actually runs better on 4.4 than it does on stock based ROMS...

Yep that's what i meant strangest thing it works fine for me on mokee ROM, but i don't like this ROM lol.
And the only thing different in this rom that is obvious to me that would cause conflict is it only has Launcher3 where as on the other rooms i always use google.

Have you tried the roms that I tested? You should give them a shot. And btw, I'm pretty sure that the launcher has nothing to do with gaming peformance...

Try SlimKat and see if it makes any difference. In my case I also had Asphalt lag on some other roms but right now if's working just fine. Give it a try! If nothing changes, then I guess it might be specific to your device...

Only ROMs based in stock will have touch less. Check the dev section. Read the opening post. There's only a few, so won't take long.

Make sure your phone is compatible with ROMs before doing anything.
And do a nandroid backup in recovery first.
Maybe the CyanogenMod11S made for the OnePlus will have that feature, though I'm guessing it's made for Snapdragon 800 architecture.

I've been wondering the same thing since the One was announced. When developers started working on ROMs, it was my understanding that touchless controls didn't exist because they couldn't figure out how to make them work. Maybe the One will give them the information they need to make it happen for us.
