[Q] [HELP]Upgrading to 4.4.2 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to update from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 and my phone is rooted so i have to download the new firmware manually
what I want to know is when I want to download the new fimware does the PDA & CSC have to be the same that I have on my phone currently or does the Country/Carrier is the only thing that has to be the same ?

Go to sammobile site and download your country firnware.

Knox question about odin flash

Hi guys. I flashed the romanian firmware when I was on 4.2.2 and the I updated on ota and I don't know how I got to britain. Now I have 4.3 and I want to change from britain firmware to the romanian one because it recieves much faster ota updates and it actually is my country. I want to download the os from sammobile. The question is: will that void my waranty? I want to download from sammobile so it's official, but I am not sure about that if I flash the firmware my waranty will remain. Thank you very much!

[Q] i9500 (region MID) still not received 4.4 kitkat update

I have a Galaxy S4 i9500 bought from Middle east (region/csc is MID).
I have tried Kies and OTA both multiple times to update to android 4.4 but it says no update available.
This page -> http://samsung-updates.com/region/?region=MID shows that it is still not released by samsung.
Should I wait for the update or flash some other region firmware using ODIN ?
You can download the INU version of 4.4.2 firmware from Sammobile.

Can I flash 4.4.2 INU firmware even if I'm having MID 4.3 firmware ? Wouldn't there be any issues ?

[Q] What firmware am I on?

Hi,
I'm currently running jellybean 4.3
AP:N9005XXUBMJ1
CP:N9005XXUBMI6
CSC:N9005OXXBMJ1
I want to update to 4.4.2 Kitkat, but I'm not sure which firmware to download on sammobile site.
How do I check what country my firmware is from?
The firmware doesn't have any carrier branded stuff which I would like to keep.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Cheers
Use your countries unbranded fw

Install 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app and you will get all info you need.
- To check what country your firmware is from: under the CSC INFO section.
- To get the right firmware to download on sammobile site: enter the Menu --> Firmware Browser...
Download link in my signature.

Thanks. I just realised that I'm running Australia (which is where I'm from) XSA software. latest version is 4.3.... is it worth using a different countries firmware?
Is it risky?
I have root currently and my KNOX is 0x0 and I'd like to keep it that way.. I want to have 4.4.2 unbranded with root.
Any recommendation on which version I should download? and instructions for root?
does KINGO android root trip the KNOX counter?

Downgrade to kitkat what version should I flash?

I just want to know if I should download the latest version 4.4.2 from Sammy firmware or I should look for a version that has my country (Romania)
the latest version I found is from United Arab Emirates... ANL1

For future OTA updates and matching CSC you should look for latest ROM for your country :good:

1. can i flash the UK (vodafone) lollipop version on my phone via ODIN ?
2. will it trip my knox after flashing?
3. Will i have to unlock my phone after flashing to use Indian sim? (because when i got the phone i did not have to unlock it)
Better if you flash poland one.

What is the reason that I should flash Poland? Because I have already downloaded the UK version .
And is it safe to flash
