I have a Similar Question.. Im In the US though.. But I have the stock rom.. Not modified.. But it is rooted with the Gingerbreak app...
Does this need to be undone to get the update.. or are updates still enabled with it being rooted?
Same here in Canada. No OTA notification, rooted stock 3.01.
I was rooted when I received my notification. If you don't want to lose root and are sick of waiting on the update please see this post to flash the official OTA using CWM:
ROM - Stock 3.1 4.010.07 - Update with CWM
I was able to receive an OTA before when I was rooted (not 3.1 though) so it's most likely that the update is not available in your regions yet.

hi, i recently tried to root my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 by following the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=40747604
but i keep ending up with failed root. i've already reset it multiple times to factory settings and tried again but still no change.
what could have gone wrong? Please help.
Probably you have updated OTA your S4 to MDM and now the new kernel is closed and can be no longer rooted using Motochopper exploit.

so any other options for me to have it rooted otherwise?
Currently this method works, but beware that the modified kernel that will be installed is not the latest one, so some display problems might return...

Updates usualy remove root, you could try enabling the survival mode in the superSU app if you have the paid superSU Pro. This should keep your phone rooted after an update.

Yup, look in system/apps and rename ‘wssyncmldm.apk’ to ‘wssyncmldm.apk.bak
Hello. I have a Kindle Fire 6th gen that is rooted using the mtk-su exploit. Is there a way to install a custom recovery like TWRP? SuperSU is installed and my FireOS version is at 5.3.6.4. If this isn't possible, is there another way I can make backups?
There's no way to install TWRP, unless someone ports the bootloader unlock to it.
You can make backups using flashfire or dd. Look at this thread for more info:

There's root so you can use flashfire. The problem is that there's no Custom Roms. You can compile one with a "hack" that ggow used in CM12.1 for use stock boot.img for ford but it's not easy and it will be very difficult
may you explain to me this "hack"?
