Motorola offers 1-time free screen replacement for Moto G - Moto G General

Moto G is covered, but only if you have bought it directly from their website.
In a discussion about broken screens over at Reddit’s Moto X subreddit, several users revealed an interesting tip: it’s seems that you can often get your phone’s screen replaced after an accidental break, at no charge to the consumer.
Looking for further clarification, we spoke to a customer service rep and confirmed that the free screen replacement service applies to any phone bought directly through Motorola or customized with the Moto Maker. This not only includes the Moto X, Moto G and Moto E but the policy will also be in place for upcoming devices such as the Motorola X+1.

Tip #1: Do not contact customer service, only request a repair and fill out the form.
Tip #2: Applies for 1 year from purchase.

Moto Replacing my broken screen for free!

So a few days ago my phone fell off of my bed and landed screen down on the wood floor and shattered the screen. I simply went to motorola.com , clicked on get help->returns and repairs. and selected request a repair. I filled out the form and selected damaged display, and put a brief explanation of what happened. With in an hour i received an email saying that since it was my first issue they would replace the phone for free! Within another hour i received another email with a code to use on moto maker. I created a new phone and used the code. They even said reply to this email with your order number, and we will make sure to put rush shipping on it! They also sent me an email with a fedex label to send in the broken one. Crazy awesome customer service. Im not sure if this has been posted before but, I had to share it!
Wow that's very nice from Motorola

Would this apply to the Moto X DE as well?

yes but a little trickier, but there is a process to get it replaced.
Happened to me as well, Moto has earned my business!
Did not seem that this is possible at least for the developer edition. The support teams are different for the MotoMaker and most of the Motorola Mobility staff for the DE were difficult to work with, recommending several times to "contact AT&T" as if they would help replace my off contract DE.

How long did you have the phone? Does this only apply 30 days after purchase?

I've had it almost 6 months.
My wife is getting her Moto X replaced like this as well. She dropped hers, it landed on the back with a case on (the official clear case from Moto) and it broke the LED panel and digitizer, though the screen wasn't actually broke. I was very impressed with Moto's service here and the ease the process has been. We ordered her a new one today and will be sending the broken one back tomorrow. Good guy Moto!

Yeah my wife broke her's as well. Same deal. Sadly I already ordered a DevEd to replace it. I like to keep a spare not 2 spares.

That's sorta what this whole thread is about. Apparently Motorola offers 1 free replacement for cracked screens. Who knew ? Not me before plunking down the cash on a DevEd.
Anyone try this with one ordered from AT&T

Yeah I know, I meant did you try to return the deved that you bought, and instead try to get a replacement for your broken one? is it too late? or maybe you could get your broken one replaced and sell one of them..
I believe it's only for moto x's from moto maker. Just chatted with Moto agent and would have to pay for a repair on at&t

Oh sorry. No, I didn't try to return the DevED. I'll sell it outright or keep it as my spare and sell my S4.
But couldn't you not send the broken phone? Anyway, this is very cool considering that not.too many companies do that ( I know HTC does that for the M8 )

Do you think if my current non-DE moto x broke that they would let me get a dev edition if I paid the difference between the two?

What if you got the moto x from motomaker but got it with a two year plan from at&t? Will motorola still replace the phone if the screen breaks?

Try Motorola website moto care app.
As far as I know they don't replace screens for free.
They won't replace it for free. But there are 3 service centers I know. One is at JM road near Garware Bridge. Second is at Narayan Peth and third at Bund Garden road. You can get the exact location from Motorola support.
Thank you bro, will visit the shops you have mentioned.
They charge above ten thousand for screen replacement

moto e,small affordable wonderful device.

Moto x is a hell of an affordable phone. i thought that i wont be able to get appropiate customer service when i was buying it from flip kart. it worked for 6 months without any problem but after that one problem came with charger . they effortlessly replaced it. i was so happy and obliged to them. flip kart service is amazing i got it within 3-4 days from my request. so thumbs up to motorola and flip kart. you don't have to think twice.

Help.. Motorola Insurance ..

I'm considering purchasing Moto insurance rather than Square Trade. Here's my issue..
I have unlocked, rooted, put twrp on my phone. I am now trying to register my phone through Moto but in my device settings I don't have what it says. I have attached 2 pictures. 1 is from my phone and the other is from Moto's web site.
I don't know how to get the Moto device back on. I have done this http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...ndows-tool-moto-x-style-pure-edition-t3199905 but I guess that didn't work.
Can someone help me ? I hope I explained myself well enough.
Another - for insurance purposes who would go through Moto or Square trade?

Anyone catch warranty flak from Motorola for not purchasing from authorized seller?

I purchased a used, like new XT1575 from an Amazon vendor in January.
I'm now having screen issues with my device, which I've confirmed is a hardware issue. After going through the Motorola forum, creating a service ticket, I've been told that my 1year warranty is not valid due to not purchasing from an authorized seller.
I'm perplexed. Granted that I have no way of determining the original purchase date, should it make a difference due to the device being released last September?
My bootloader is unlocked, however I've read that Motorola will still honor the warranty for hardware issues if the device has no physical damage, which mine does not.
I had this problem with my Moto 360 they pretty much told me to take a jump. It was brand new from an amazon vendor. So now I have a smart watch that doesn't work properly and Moto won't fix it.
