[Q] [HELP] help me to choose a rom - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi! i'm not sure if this doesn't goes against the forum rules, if thats the case, i'm really sorry and delete this thread.
The thing is that I'm using the stock kk rom that comes with the lg g2 D802, the international variant, and i want to change the rom, but as far as i been searching in the g2 android development d802 section i found that there where different roms like Pardus, Cloudy's, optimuspro, and many others.
My daily use of the phone is internet related apps (facebook, twitter and whatsapp), games (fifa, asphalt, racing rivals, etc) and listening to music, so i need a rom that dont have bugs in data transmision, nor batter drain issues,
can someone help me?
Sorry for my english

I'm not on an 802, but CloudyFlex is outstanding, especially paired with Simple Kernel. Battery life is ridiculous, I average 2-3 days per charge. And performance is excellent. You probably want to make sure you have a backup of your APN, many have had issues getting data after flashing, me included. But following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2656046 solved that.

[Q] Few questions about T-moble G2

Hi Folks,
I currently have the G1 & I thinking about getting the G2, but have a few questions
1) How much internal memory is available for apps when taken out of the box ? I've read 3.5 gigs & others said 1.25 gigs
2) How well does the external speaker work? Especially if using for Gps driving directions
3) I know the phone comes with Flash, would this allow me to play any of the Facebook games on the phone or is this not that type of flash
4) How is the battery life, & how is it compared to the stock g1 battery?
Thanks
Wrong forum dude, try the G2 forum (this one is for the Desire Z).

LG E400f RAM and Custom ROM question

Hi guys. Sorry if this thread is a bother. I couldn't find any answers for this, so I had to ask. Again, my sincerely apologies if this thread is nonsense and a complete bother. But...
I installed Andwie's Latte ROM (my first ROM actually). Although I loved how smooth it is, everything seems smooth there, I am actually a tad bit disappointed by the fact the RAM usage always seems high. Although I don't tend to run many apps at a once, when I am browsing on internet, I prefer to listen to a music and as such I ran two (three, actually) apps for that: Viper4Droid, PlayerPro, Last.FM Scrobbler runs on the background. All running Opera. Quite a lot, eh? But on my stock ROM, it weren't a problem at all. I could do it just fine. Now, it is slightly laggy.
My question is; Is that "behaviour" from the phone normal soon after I install a ROM? I noticed Holo Launcher is running on the background and it is the only thing (after I installed it) to run on the background. So I think custom ROMs tends to eats a bit of RAM? Small and silly question I know. But I want to get this query solved. Thanks In advance!

Hey Sohryu
As you mentioned that the RAM consumption is a bit higher at custom rom can i tell you. False
Custom roms dont affect the RAM negatively, if all is fine custom Roms give you more free RAM!
The ROM is based on our 'stock android' by LG (version v10s) which has infact a bit more ram consumption compared to other v10'x' roms.
You may have to revert your ROM to normal stock rom by lg
If so you can use KDZ for flashing stock rom
And rooting (if needed) with superoneclick 1.7
All these information can be found in our forum!

[Q] Should i buy the LG G2 ?

Hi everyone,
i'm thinking about buying a LG G2, i've read many topics about it but i still have some questions:
currently i have a galaxy S3 with a rooted stock room, and using powersaving mode and greenify to reduce battery usage
i am attracted by the G2 because of its specs and battery life, but it seems to have a lot of problems with kitkat update... ?
I didn't find any stock kitkat rom for G2 without bug, am i right ?
how about the cloudyG3 rom ? I don't want to flash and test many roms, in fact i just would like an updated rom with acceptable features and a very good battery life,
So i need your help my friends
thanks in advance

I don't know if there has been that many problems with KitKat and G2. The one that has affected me was the sound bug - hissing and weird noices when using headphones. That bug wasn't noticable to most users - it seemed to only affect or being noticed by them that used certain headphones (in my case AKG K551). The irritating thing with that one was that LG didn't seem to be able to fix it. They released new versions that made it a bit better but not good so to speak. I switched to using custom ROMs and Kernels because of it and got rid of the problem that way.
There are some very good ROMs out here. I've tried Cloudy Stock, Cloudy Flex and Pardus HD sensation and they were all good. I kind of liked Cludy Flex and Pardus HD Sensation best because they use a black color background to the screens. I've also tried both Cloudy and Optimus G3 ROMS, but my thought is that they are made for a different set of hardware and needs to be ported to G2 and that makes them a bit more suspicious to having bugs. so if you don't desperately want the G3 interface I would stick to one that is more specific to G2. I'm sure some one else will ha another opinion.
I've used Dorimanx's kernel more or less all the time. No sound bug there!
The G2 is a great phone with fantastic battery time - I truly recommend it!
thanks for your reply,
how about the battery life ? did you see any improvement with those custom roms ?
and finnaly how can i find the last and the best stock rom ? (i am afraid about the sound bug and the battery drain)
thanks a lot
I'm not sure were you got the problem with battery drain from. The battery time is great on the G2 (compared to most other phones). I can't say that I've noticed any differences in that aspect between the different ROMs. It's more a matter of what you choose to activate on your phone(as usual). High performance location service, WIFI, Google Now etc. So the more you activate the faster the battery will run out. The custom ROM:s also allow the use of tuning between performance and battery time.
If you want the most stock like experience I suggest using Clody Stock or Pardus Classic ROM. Both can be combined with the Dorimanx kernel.
G2 plus Cloudy's G3 rom has been amazing. Throw in G3 tweakbox and hold on!
thanks i will try it,
have you seen any bugs or battery drain with those roms ?
U can grab the whole info here :-

If you want to keep the mst stable and stock possible debloated with perfect battery life, then sotmax 9+ stock rom is the perfect choice combined with bruce kernel

No real KitKat problems here. Take a look at the specs, view some reviews on youtube and choose it... or not.
If you trust an guy who says "Flash a G3 rom" then buy a G3... But get a phone just for to use a ported ROM doesnt makes any sense to me. Even tho "G3 roms are best" isnt even a valid reason, read thru the G3 port threads and see the bugs etc. I prefer to use a Stock based ROM (Bruce, pardus or even pure stock rooted) and read into the threads (we all have done it - even me, i have my G2 for around 5-6 months now and i finally found my prefered ROM > BruceROM with his own kernel, so it might take some time to find your prefered ROM because there are plenty of choices, but if you are stock lover, just try the stock ones). With ported ROM's you always take the risk of bugs and the current builds are bugged, believe it or not. LG did a GREAT job on stock and 20F is almost perfect (at least for me). If you're a AOSP lover, there are good choices aswell, but i highly prefer a Nexus device if you are a hardcore AOSP user tho.
And dont take arguments like "G3 Roms are best because of UI" too serious, because i dont choose a Phone cuz of its UI...
Thanks everybody for your advices, @kewkie: thank you specially, that's exactly what i was looking for, i will look for the 20F,
in fact i would prefer the nexus 5, but the 3000mAh battery of the G2 makes me prefer the G2

Search good, stable and without battery drain ROM

Hello.
I Search good rom. I have now 7 ROM port G3 and after 2 months i have a lot of freeze and restart. I don't have time to test all roms. Which rom is good for you (stable, fast, good battery, AOSP) ?

First off, these kind of threads aren't allowed on XDA since they may appear disrespectful to the developers.
Second, no device or person is equal. Even though they're all LG G2's and have the same hardware, there are some differences within them and most importantly - WE use the phone differently. So what works for me, doesn't necessarily work for you.
I'd advise you to look around in the G2 Android Development section and check out the threads and the feedback that people give. Create a picture and go for that. It's not like flashing takes too long anyway, does it ?
Good luck.

[Q] Stock vs CM12?

Hi all. I have one question and I need a honest answer.
I currently have LG G2 d802 32gb version currently running stock kitkat.
I wait so badly on lollipop update but.. I was bored today and I found some videos in YouTube about CyanogenMod12 for LG G2 and now idk what to do.
I used a HTC Desire S for a long time running cm11 and I kinda miss Cyanogenmod hehe.
So the question is, should I root and get cm12 or wait for official lollipop?
Just to note, I'm not an Android hacker or anything like that and I dont need root to modify my phone in those terms.
I just know that cm really smooth is and I would like to know is there a big difference between stock and cm12?
I mostly use my phone for Internet browsing, Whatsapp and sometimes games.
Also I know I can do all of that with stock but still, I would like to know is it worth to flash cm12?
How's the camera, are there any big bugs and errors, how is the batery life etc.
Thanks for info. Cheers!
