Hi Folks,
I currently have the G1 & I thinking about getting the G2, but have a few questions
1) How much internal memory is available for apps when taken out of the box ? I've read 3.5 gigs & others said 1.25 gigs
2) How well does the external speaker work? Especially if using for Gps driving directions
3) I know the phone comes with Flash, would this allow me to play any of the Facebook games on the phone or is this not that type of flash
4) How is the battery life, & how is it compared to the stock g1 battery?
Thanks
Wrong forum dude, try the G2 forum (this one is for the Desire Z).

Hi!
So I bought this phone to replace my ATT tilt 2 so my wife can finally plays some games for Android she likes but right now I am confused as to why some rather simple games are running so slow.
Crush the Castle for example is very slow and kinda of glitchy.
Angry birds is better though.
Blow up is a bit sluggish too.
I know this is not going to match my Galaxy S but I was expecting a lot more from it. Is it the Cyanogen 6 slowing it down.
I installed Autokiller and noticed that there is only 30MB free...thats horrible.
Any recommendations amigos...I am completely new to this phone and currently have not even done the unlocking thing in case I have to sell it again.
I hope there is something like a faster Rom still compatible with games etc...my Eclair instead of Froyo..anything
Thanks!
You can try Cyanogen 5.0.8 and swe if its any better. Its most likely due to CM 6 as I was also having issues with it running slow but it may not. I've never played any of he mentioned games so I can't for sure say. Make a nandroid backup and try a different ROM. If you have the same issue you can go back to CM 6.

Is there a stickie anywhere on how to flash roms here? I now know how to do my Tilt2 and a little on my Galaxy S but I am clueless with this one.
Basically you download the ROM you want to use and copy it to your SD card without putting it in any folders. Turn your phone off and boot into recovery by holding home+power. There's a section called wipe, go in there and wipe system/data, dalvik-cache, and your cache. Go back to the main menu where another section is called flash zip from SD. Go there and you should see the .zip file for the ROM that you copied to your SD card. Just hit it and foplow the on screen directions. Some ROM require that you flash more than one zip file so read carefully. It example, CM 5.0.8 requires that you flash one zip for the ROM and then another for Google apps (like the market).

Thanks a ton...I will read on some more.
Though I've experienced problems with CM6, I don't think it's the cause of problems with Crush the Castle. I ran the app on the stock sense ROM and it was still very slow.
It could be that the At&t Tilt doesn't have enough memory to play the game at an ideal pace. Such simple games in our opinions could be games that take up way more memory than your phone has. So I'm guessing it's the phone's amount of memory that is the problem.

Actually the question is about the My Touch 3G...I feel that this ROM is something messed up with this installation I mean, this phone barely has 30MB or Ram when it boots... I am still trying to flash but having issues with the nandroid back up process.
Whats wrong with running Nandroid?
Did you went threw 'performance options' in cyanogenmod 6.0?
Try to enable "JIT". It was off in my standard settings.
You can read some more on it there: android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/05/dalvik-jit.html
Cyanogen 6.0 with JIT is an outstanding speed improvement for my HTC Magic.
I will try that tonight...thanks guys!
Hey guys ive been of this site for ages now, pritty much since android on sd card had started. However things have kinda moved on heaps and bounds as i can see thanks to the devs but im kinda outa the loop and looking to flash my first Nand Android build. I understand Magldr and all that stuff but still gotta couple of questions.
1. what essentially is app2sd/data2sd etc...
2. what is a good alround nand build with most things working
(Was looking at Dl DesireZ & Cyanogen Mod)
3. has battery performance got better or do we still need to tweak it for it to last a day lol
Thanks for any help
1. storing (some of) your apps on your sd card instead of internal memory, when storage is limited - no need to deal with it unless you find out you want it
2. most somewhat recent roms work pretty good, find out what you like best
3. battery life is pretty good, almost on par with winmo (as reported by others, i never used winmo)
thankyou dude
Dear XDA members,
I spend last few mounts searching for best SGS configuration in order to have very long battery life for ordinary phone use..
I know, that everyone here have different methods for using and measuring battery performance and is true that if i'm using the phone for games or if i use the phone for GPS navigation or only for making phone calls the results are very different and will not help anyone understand which SGS configuration is good for us.
This tread is special for people who are using SGS for ''normal use'', making phone calls and using wifi for navigation and checking the messages.
Well i write a lot of things , but still nothing to understand what i want no???
What i want is, that all members who are using the SGS in way i described before ''normal use'' -post info about the battery life, so we can see what configuration is the best.
I was thinking that we need to write down the type of kernel we are using and what change we done to system(lagfix etc..) and what we are using all day long.
Maybe i can write down an example :
i had superslim version of doc. first froyo rom named: JPM_SuperSlimDocMod from 14/10/2010.
ROM :JPM_SuperSlimDocMod - 14/10/2010 - froyo 2.1
WiFi: always ON -
GPS :always ON
Lagfix: OCLF - ext2 -all (file-system, Data)
Battery life in order of one mount test was 3 days !!!! - it based on my use, and using my apps ..The phone response was very very fast!!!
When using XXJPY_Wipe-v8.1.1-18-01- EXT4 file-system only- with same usage, the batter last for 2 days
and now when i'm on XWJS5_Wipe-v9_6_6 EXT4 file-system only- with same usage, the batter last for 1 day, but i'm using this rom version for only 18days - but i don't think that the battery life will incrise...
If somebody thinks that is good idea to have a tread with this kind of info and if somebody have some ideas, please help me...
In this forum we all are talking only about sped but reading all around in this forum, i notice that a lot of people just want i good battery live and that everything is working fine, the benchmarks are o.k. but not all people need that one apps opens in one millisecond or in one second...
I need good balance and if i'm looking back from first froyo rom, my SGS battery life drops down in days !!! every new version...BTW we all are using the same apps and same wifi and same phone, only OS version is different more new, so it had to have more performance in battery and speed, but is not like.
Hope someone understand me...
regards
Hi Kikan
I want to give you some feedback on your thread.
First, there's at least one similar thread in the general section. I think this thread would also fit better into general, you could cooperate with tndb to get the results you search.
Second, I'd advice you to use the defaults for size and color of the text. blue and huge is a bit disturbing and I think lot's of people immediately go back to the overview when they see it. I had to "force" myself to read it
considering my setup: it's posted in the linked thread
O.K. Thank you...
I will remove this tread...

hi! i'm not sure if this doesn't goes against the forum rules, if thats the case, i'm really sorry and delete this thread.
The thing is that I'm using the stock kk rom that comes with the lg g2 D802, the international variant, and i want to change the rom, but as far as i been searching in the g2 android development d802 section i found that there where different roms like Pardus, Cloudy's, optimuspro, and many others.
My daily use of the phone is internet related apps (facebook, twitter and whatsapp), games (fifa, asphalt, racing rivals, etc) and listening to music, so i need a rom that dont have bugs in data transmision, nor batter drain issues,
can someone help me?
Sorry for my english

I'm not on an 802, but CloudyFlex is outstanding, especially paired with Simple Kernel. Battery life is ridiculous, I average 2-3 days per charge. And performance is excellent. You probably want to make sure you have a backup of your APN, many have had issues getting data after flashing, me included. But following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2656046 solved that.
Hi guys, i'm a Android/smartphone noob.
I'm looking for an information about the LG G2 EU version.
These are mine concerns/questions.
1. With this rom, is much of the frames drop - lags sorted?
2. Can i still make the custom non throttling mod or whatever you guys call it? i want super fast performance.
3. How much system ram is free after this mod? (memory usage not storage)
4. Can i still use the camera mod for 4K, 60fps - 1080p, and 720p 120 fps, this is very important to me.
5. is there display calibration tool for the G2, and will it work with this debloated version?
6. How is TRIM working on this phones? any issues regarding TRIM?
Thanks.
I'm sorry for the spam, and if the post is not on the right place, i post rare on this site, i hope someone can help me because i need to get this phone in 24 hours
