Hi all,
Was running CyanogenMod 4.4 Grouper from Dec 2013, and just tried to update to the current nightly from the device. Downloaded file OK, update started & failed saying error in the zip (status7), aborted. Anyway, now I'm stuck in the ClockworkMod recovery screen v6.0.1.0 and can't adb into the device to copy across the zip file again to reflash. Sorry its been a while so probably missing something, so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Dev

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade from rooted 3.1 to 3.2. I downloaded the 3.2 zip
file ( 19dea2ba1ae5.signed-trygon-HTJ85B-from-HMJ37.19dea2ba.zip)
and copied it to the xoom. When I try to upgrade with clockwork recovery,
I get a strange error:
...
Verifying current system ...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("EMMC:/dev/block < lots of text, see attached pic >")
E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Any ideas/suggestions how to work around this ?
Thanks,
rudi
For some reason, some of the stock HMJ37 boot.img files don't pass the SHA1 check. So, I used the patch tool to create the "Official" HMJ37 boot.img from HRI66:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12011163/MZ600-HMJ37-stockboot.img
flash this boot image with fastboot, and that'll fix your issue. Glad this can help someone else- I had the same problem too (even after backing out all my files).
Hello,

E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Someone can help me please??
I got the following building on my Samsung Galaxy S
Firmware-Version: 2.3.6
Basisbandversion: I9000XXJVU
Kernel-Version: [email protected] #2
Buildnummer: GINGERBREAD.XXJVU
It was my first time, that i flashed my phone, i wish someone can help me.
P.S.: my english is not so good
Redownload cm and try again
I did, but it still not work and show me all time the same fail :-(
Try removing your external sdcard and then going into CWM
you are trying to flash an unsigned zip in stock recovery. the stock recovery checks if the zip is signed. if it is, the recovery applies the update. but the zip you are flashing is not signed, so it checks the zip and cannot find a signature. then it aborts the installation.
your solution is to flash a custom kernel, for example Galaxian. after flashing install the zip again, it will work like a charm
if you have any more problems, don't hesitate to send me a PM in German
I wrote you a message Noobproof, hope you understand
I have rooted my Nexus 4 with Tool Kit and flashed it with stock 4.3 image. Few days later came new small security patch for 4.3. Now every few days I get the notification on my phone but when I try to let it install, it does not get installed.
Here is phone info:
Android version: 4.3
Build number: JWR66V
Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-gf43c3d9
I will appreciate your help. Is this update available as a zip file on the forum? if it is, then I can side load it on my rooted phone.
I will appreciate any help.
I have this too
If it helps, I have to problem too.
I have rooted my phone and installed ClockworkMod Recover v6.0.2.3 but have not installed any custom ROM or other changes (that I know of).
I periodically get a messge an update has been downloaded, but when I attempt to install it, ClockworkMod informs me:
Code:
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Since I don't know what it is, I abort the install, but I can't tell what is happening. I would also appreciate any help.
Regards,
Bret

Yes, I have also installed ClockworkMod Recover v6.0.2.3 and running stock ROM as well. . If this update is available as a zip file then we can install it. It should not be just two of us having this issue. Everyone who rooted phone should have same issue.

Thanks for pointing towards the right direction. I tried to side load the zip but it failed. I will post the question in the other thread.
Hello guys. I'm new here and I hope you can help me with my update problem:
I'm using ASUS Google Nexus 7 2012 rooted running Android 4.4 KitKat KRT16S
the problem is when I update it default through OTA in the device itself, when i reboot it, it still not 4.4.2 but the system says I'm running the latest version of android.
i tried manually using TWRP recovery but i get this error
Updating partition details...
Installing '/sdcard/!ReadyToFlash/Root_Files/kk.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
Verifying current system...
"/system/bin/debuggerd" has unexpected contents.
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/!ReadyToFlash/Root_Files/kk.zip
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/!ReadyToFlash/Root_Files/kk.zip
Note: !ReadyToFlash is the folder where the kk.zip which is the OTA file is located
I hope somebody here can help me or give me a link of the right debuggerd file. Thanks you very much.
Hello guys, since I've installed CM12 I've been getting errors from TWRP when flashing CM updates.
I had a Nexus 4 and when I installed CM updates it usually rebooted to recovery and then TWRP would install it automatically, but it's not happening on my G2 D802. I have TWRP 2.8.5, installed with Autorec before flashing CM12 for the first time.
Error log says shortly after I start to flash CM updates:
E: ZIP file is corrupt!
E: Error installing zip fie '/cache/recovery/block.map'
Then it goes on and finishes flashing and it says successful, in fact it always works, but should I be concerned? Am I doing something wrong or it has something to do with the bootloader? I've read somewhere that you had to downgrade the bootloader in order to flash, but also read somewhere that autorec does that for you. I've also read that it could have been that I was using an old recovery, but I'm using the latest, I don't know what it could be...
Thanks in advance

No, wait. I got the same issue with BUMPED TWRP, please install the classic OpenTWRP 2.5.0 (not bumped) and you will upgrade the system without any issue.
Buona giornata, stammi bene e buon modding!
I'm using normal TWRP, downloaded latest versione from its website, I'm not using the bumped one.
cm 12 corrupt update and wifi problems
I have the same problem as u do! And when I leave my home wifi, and later return to it, I have to reboot the phone in order for it to connect to the home wifi again... In the wifi settings it says either "Connecting" or "Saved".
I would be very grateful for any help!
Same happens here, it installs fine, I just have to do it manually. I'm on TWRP v2.8.5.0.
Same here,I have to flash the zip manually.
