NFC not working on D800? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having trouble getting my NFC to work on my AT&T D800 LG G2, running CloudyFlex 2.4.
Here's the story, I purchased some Topaz 512 NFC tags, and I can't seem to be able to get the phone to pick them up. I've tried both CloudyFlex and CloudyStock, and neither is able to pick up the tags at all.
Now I'm not 100% sure if it's just the NFC tags that are broken, but I'm assuming not since I got 5 of them and none of them are detected.
Is this a known issue with the D800 running non-stock firmware? Is there any other way I can test the NFC functionality on my phone?

Currently working on it. Taking a long time to download.

Tried a stock firmware based rom. Still doesn't pick up the tags

lol. I can't believe you revived this thread.
Anyways, I ultimately wasn't able to figure it out, but I think it wouldn't read Topaz 512 tags, only the smaller ones (can't remember what they're called).
Good luck!

Help! Stuck Wifi

I just a new G2 yesterday, and was trying to find some way to transfer over my saved wifi passwords from my old phone to my new phone.
I found an app on the play store which looked to have good reviews, and it worked backing up my passwords from my old phone, but attempting to restore them on my G2 seems to have broken something.
Wifi does not turn on at all now. It is stuck in "Turning Wi- Fi on"
I reluctantly did a factory reset (twice) and this did not solve the problem. My next step is to flash the stock firmware, but my browser estimates 5 hours until it finishes downloading... (100-200 KB/s)
Any idea of what I can try in the meantime? Thank you for your help.
What carrier are you on? I'm no expert, but maybe you can find the radios and flash them instead. The download would be much smaller I think.
Also, your Google account should back up your Wi-Fi information as well. When I got my G2 and logged in, all of the hot spots I've connected to in the past were already saved.

I'm on AT&T. I didn't know that was possible, but that would be nice, so I'll look around.
Thanks

I am sick of knock on not working!

If this should go in Q&A Please moderator move for me.
After i got the KitKat update it has been downhill from there.
Little by little knock on stopped working. now it does not work at all.
I have doner factory resets several times and nothing seems to fix this.
Is it a hardware issue or software issue?
Is it the proximity sensor???
I am out of ideas.
I am considering switching to either the Galaxy S5 or HTC M8.
Has anyone of you experienced this problem and if so, is there a fix??
I have searched and read many threads here and nobody has a fix.
Completely Frustrated.
Test your sensors in the hidden menu and see what is it.

This has already been done. all sensors working properly.
From the 3845#*800# menu go to settings, and touch update touch firmware wait a few seconds and then try if knock on works

Dear i am also facing the same issue, my knock off is working perfectly but now knock on doesn't seems to work, i become really frustrated done wipe cache, hard reset and now completely messed up everything.
Actually knock performance keeps on deteriorating for me after kk update and now yesterday i got another update D802B and knok on messed up, now i had to use power button to turn my screen on, really frustrating.
As far as my opinion LG G2 is a phone with good hardware and ****ing software.

I feel your pain. this is completely frustrating.
I am going to have to send it in to manufacturer to fix or replace.
I also hate having to use the power button to wake the phone. I was so used to knock on.
Did you fellas try resetting the phone to factory defaults, and then flashing Kitkat from scratch?

Im not sure if the S5 but i know M8 does have knock on.
This happened to me where knock off would work but wouldn't come back on. Started when I installed custom recovery while on kk, fix was the flash the kdz.
I've avoided custom recovery since then.

[Q] LG G2 Stock Firmware

I have a rooted Verizon LG G2 (VS 980) that I would like to put stock firmware on. I dont want Verizon's version because I dont like the way they tampered with a few of the apps. I've seen the posts about going back to stock but they all seem to point you to use your carrier's version. Does anyone know where I can find the method to use LG's stock G2 firmware?

Hello,[emoji4] , you can't use no other version of your device, but the Verizon Variant, because if you do so, you'll brick your device because the International Unlocked model and the Verizon Model is different, and even if you did(I don't recommend) install the International Unlocked Model, you'll still need Verizon's Sim Card, and once you've inserted the Sim Card, the Carrier will still install its Bloatware.

Quickly looked in the Verizon section of the forum and the "[ROM] XDABBEB's VS98024A v1.2.1" seems to be the most popular de-branded option which is non CM based. The cook removed the 3rd party apps, so most likely the Verizon bloat is gone. See the thread here and good luck.

Is there any way to get the stock messaging app (unmodified by Verizon) or another carrier messaging app to my device? I've tried many of them I've found online and can't get one to work?

3G/4G Doesn't work

I have an LG G2 D800 with the Cloudy G2 3.3 ROM.
I live in argentina and I use CLARO as my service provider, like all my family.
My father has an Moto G 4G, my mother an Moto E and my little brother a Nexus 4, none of them has any connectivity problems except of me.
The ROM is not the problem because I have already tried the stock one and I don't get connection either.
The APN is set correctly, anyone has an idea about what to do? I really need internet when I'm not at home.
Any help appreciated.

I'm on LP, and flashed the only modem for LP, downloaded from blastgator's page.
I don't know what else to try. The thing is that it has worked, It's not a network compatibility problem..

Used lg g2: atnt d802??

Hey, my friend bought a used lg g2. We've tried to identify if it's original or not by checking it with cpu-z online verification. I've found something interesting. It says that it's atnt version, but it says it's d802. How is this possible? It had cyanogenmod pre-installed..
1st thought was that it's d802 with d800 motherboard. Is it possible? If so, which roms should I install?

But it actually wasn't rooted. Friend checked it with root checker. That was a surprise for me too, don't all cyanogen roms come pre-rooted?

If it came with a custom ROM most likely the phones is already rooted and has twrp installed. I think you can disable SuperSU setting from developer settings in some Roms. To answer your question, yes you may have a franken phone. Which means that it is refurbished to look like a d802 whne in fact it is a d800. They change the imei and back cover so that you won't know. Do NOT attempt to update the device through lg mobile support tool it will brick your phone.

Yeah i understand that. It should have a custom recovery just for the cyanogen to be there in the first place.
I want to install Cloudy rom for him to have a better overall experience, since i have it installed on my own g2.
If i make a full backup and try installing a cloudy, can i endure any problems if i try the d800 rom?
