My idea is to replace the lock screen files with an empty null stock lock screen data
and the phone will be without lock screen at all "just slide to unlock"
without format or modify any data "settings, media, apps, Rom data ..etc"
So what is it ?
It's a zip file that bypass any lock screen
-Pattern
-Pin
-Password
-Face
How
Just flash it with CWM
- tested with Nexus 5 Kitkat
- Works fine with kitkat and jelly bean [didn't test it on ICS but I think it gonna work too]
- [BACKUP FIRST]
Why to use it?
So you forgot you pin or pass? no need for format
1- just download zip file on USB [OTG] then flash it TWRP
2- CWM sideload
3- If your device support external memory card.. copy it then flash it
Happy bypass guys :good:

Can't you just select "none" as a lock screen option under security to achieve the same thing?

If you read the entire OP you would've saw it says it's for if you forgot your pattern/pin/password.

jxr94 : How you gonna do that while its already LOCKED ??

Good one? Lol.

Great tool for Nexus 5 thieves who have some basic flashing knowledge.
"Passcode or no passcode, we'll snatch it anyway."

well ... this makes me very scared if anyone steals my n5 now

well it would be weird if they do so unless they want your data.
Full flash is preferred!

Will this work is the phone is encrypted?

I don't think so but I didn't try it

What's wild is I just had to use my first backup and you bet it had a pattern lock I didn't remember and this would have been handy for a faster result. I ended up entering the pattern wrong so many times it finally asked me for my email address and opened rite up.I now have your zip in case it happens again.thank you and its a great idea

That would mean they need ADB knowledge to push the zip to the phone in recovery since the phone has to be unlocked to access internal storage.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

it's easy to push file via abd sideload ! just type "adb sideload FILE-NAME.zip"
however you can flash it with TWRP via USB OTG

I have tried the file but keep getting
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted

1. you need a custom recovery
2. you need to disable signature verification if your custom recovery uses it

Is there a way to protect against this other than not having a custom recovery? I unfortunately couldn't think of one yet. I'll keep on tho.

if you encrypt the device you will not be able to flash something to data partition without entering the correct password and the zip on this thread needs data partition

It's called flashing. The idea is you keep the zip on your phone, incase you need it. You can get recovery with a locked phone and flash it

Works fine here
You need to install adb then cd to the adb directory, then type the command.
Why is it even in dev section?

On settings find update su binaries
click it
wait for it to update then after that it will ask you to restart your phone
if it fails, try flashing update.zip again

Ok bro, so the ROM manager app says that SU wasnt found where it should usually be. So the SU must have been extracted elsewhere which is improbable. But to fix your issue just get another update.zip and reinstall the package. If therr is an SU apk present doimg this should overwrite the exisitng one

Does not update my deb....
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I received the update OTA on my rooted (deb) N7/2, booted to TWRP and flashed the .zip, that is in /cache. Update runs fine. I didn't use the recovery option to fix SU permissions.
Just rebooted to OS, went to recovery and flashed the SU.zip afterwards.
Root and TWRP are working fine.
I received the update too and installed it via twrp.
All went fine exept for root. I just had to install chainfires root package (1.55) again.
is it a sign to get a factory image in a short time?

You have touchscreen problems on a LTE version? I don't have any problems on my LTE version with 08.2013 build date.
If the update is for fixing touchscreen problems, then I'm not sure if I should update...
No, I have the FLO but I think, that FLO will get this update, too... sooner or later...

Slightly OT here, but since it might still be useful for future OTA updates: How does one catch/find out the OTA URL of an update? I understand that the update itself gets downloaded to /cache and there you can find the filename, but what about the URL?

simplest way is a proxy in your wifi network, which handles all http/https requests for the phone/tablet.

If you know the update file name then it's easy. Address is android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_devicecodename/filename so in our case android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_razorg/filename
if i am not mistaken the url is also visible in logcat.
So just to make sure I`m getting this right, I have a rooted DEB with TWRP installed:
1. Flash the zip from recovery
2. Flash SuperSU.zip
3. Reboot
4. Done
Or is a reboot needed in between between steps 1. and 2.? Does anyone have a working link to the SuperSU files needed (thanks in advance!).

Even more simple is:
1) just allow a USB developer mode in the settings (no root needed)
2) fire up your ubuntu linux
3) run adb lolcat | grep http in the terminal
and take a look for something like

EASY UNLOCK AND 8.1 Developer Preview Install

First of all, thanks Deuces and Northmendo for the idea to help people.
I have created a pretty easy all in one that will install the lasted adb and fastboot system wide and fastboot flash unlock and unlock_critical. It will install the latest 8.1 developer preview for the Pixel 2 XL for you as well with all the necessary files included. I did not inlcude the lock and lock_critical function as most do not use it.
As the instructions state, please use a usb 2.0 port and and usb-c to usb-a cable that supports data. Also enabling debugging and oem unlock is a must.
It includes a menu driven batch file that is super easy to use.
For those that want to use this same batch file on the pixel 2 itself, please extract the zip from google and then extract the zip within the zip. Next pull the bootloader and radio img file from the root of the zip to the FILES folder included in this program. Then copy all the contents from the zip within the zip to the same FILES folder. It should contain about 22 files in total. We really don't need the android-info.txt file.
I will also be including a batch file with a semi empty FILES folder that does not include any Google related 8.1 files for those that want to download it quicker and copy their own contents to it for flashing. Like Pixel 2 owners that already have the 8.1 preview downloaded.
If anyone needs any help please feel free to ask. This post was rushed so please excuse my grammatical errors.
FOR PIXEL 2 and PIXEL???? ----NO IMG's inlcuded
http://www.mediafire.com/file/eksn04aiaeqvvia/PXEL_2_&_PIXEL_SAUCE_NO-IMGS.zip
FOR PIXEL 2 XL ---- IMG's included
http://www.mediafire.com/file/1wde39mj7ssbxb3/PIXEL_2_XL_SAUCE_V1.zip
Oh btw. In the credits they are listed as well as their profile page.
Forgot to mention your phone needs to be in the bootloader. Duh!

so we need unlock_critical
which they said we need only for non signed bootloader
did google not signed the bootloader img by mistake
or this is intentional for dev previews
You can install the Dev 8.1 ROM without unlocking though. Just go to Android's site and enroll your phone in the beta program like you would an iPhone, and it just sends it to you as an OTA and installs it without wiping or unlocking your phone...

Unable to create new folders or save anything to the internal memory

So ill try to put all the other information that's important here.
I tried flashing the Stock rom back to this phone through TWRP and I feel like I've flashed it about 8 times now. It comes up normally and I can go through the setup wizard and when I hit the home screen I tired getting Adaway. When I tried to download the apk to my phone and I try to choose a save location it keeps saying that I can't find a save location. Then I tried opening up the file manager and tried creating a new folder it says that the operation cant be performed. I have plenty of storage available on my 6T and I cant see what I'm doing wrong. I've flashed and reflashed both TWPR and the Stock ROM both Beta and official and I still run into the same issue. Is anyone able to lend a hand? Thank you in advance!
Edit: Fixed it!
