Dear all,
first of all, sorry if this question is repeated, but I couldn't find a good answer by searching.
I bought a i9505 Galaxy S4 that came with a version of Android that has been modified by the carrier. There's a lot of bloatware and everything, but worse, they haven't even released the Android 4.3.
Can I install a "default" firmware of a i9505 Galaxy S4, in order to solve this problem? Clean, carrier free?
If yes, can someone post a guide on how to do this? I'm completely new to this subject, have no experience at all.
Thank you very much in advance!
Anyone?
This problem is really annoying me...
Another try...
Is it possible to just flash android again or do I need to root my phone?
I'm new to Android.

You can directly flash a rom from your country free of branch (fob) or unbranched (ub), their updates are faster than carrier ones. You don't need to root the phone to do this.

Great, that already helps a lot. I'll find a way to do that. Thank you!

Well, searching in Sammobile I found out that my firmware is Brazil (VIVO) - ZVV. (Vivo is the carrier)
Can I just flash Brazil - ZTO (which is carrier free) with Samsung Kies?
Thank you!

You can flash that rom, but not with kies... kies will only update your installed rom, it is, zvv firmware. You must flash zto rom by Odin 3.09. It is easy, just search the forum.

What bootloader (4.2.2 or 4.3?) Do you have and what rom are you trying to flash with odin (and version if odin)?

Bootloop is a "Soft Brick" and can be recovered using CWM or any CWM based recovery.
Hard Brick is a state where the Device is totally dead for the end user, It will not show any screen activites or respond to buttons or no led activities.
Your is a Soft Brick and few steps will recover your device if followed carefully:
- Use Aroma File Manager to backup your data to External SDCard. Backup "/data/app" to External SDCard. You can also try replacing "/system/app" and "/system/framework" with your ROM "/system" if you suspect that some app or mod has done changes in the /system.
- Do a Full Wipe of Cache/Dalvik and try to boot.
- If not booting then Do a Full Wipe of Cache/Dalvik and install "PhoeniX ROM" and reboot. Wait for 10-15 minutes.
- Wipe Cache/Dalvik and Flash Perseus Kernel and Reboot.
This should bring back you device.
If nothing works then Flash STOCK 4.3 from Odin 3.09 as instructed in forum.
Good Luck.

Ok, if you had before a stock 4.3 Rom, you will not be able to flash anymore a 4.2.2 stock rom. If that rom you are using doesn't work, try a different sammobile stock rom, I suggest the newest 4.3 Rom for your country or carrier, or any fob from a different country with same 3G frequency bands.
Use always Odin 3.07 or 3.09, never use 1.85 except for cfautoroot.
Please, report back your final solution.

You won't ever be able to flash second rom because it is 4.2 and you have 4.3 bootloader.
As last chance, I assume you are using Odin 3.09 and no a different version, try again to flash 4.3 stock rom twice at same time, I mean, first, uncheck reboot after flash option, first flash, check back reboot option, second flash, and unwire and see what happen.
If this doesn't fix it sorry, but it would sound as any PCB damage (hardware), and you should go to SAT.
Here in this point, I am so sorry, but our sub

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to the rooting scene so please go easy on me if I sound a little stupid. I've done a bit of reading from time to time over the last few months and it seems like there are a lot of different opinions and theories about rooting to and from the official ROMs with Knox. I'm on the official 4.3 now so I've already got Knox installed.
I'm wondering if it's easy to simply root the phone so I can adjust some settings (Eg. turning the annoying shutter sound off on the camera), but not install any new ROM, without tripping the Knox flag? I don't want to lose any warranty and I want to be able to update OTA officially when new updates come out. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help.
Not without voiding the Knox warranty, no. If that's important to you, forget about custom firmware.

Hmm damn! So it's loading custom firmware even without loading a custom ROM?
No way around that if you already have the Knox bootloader.

Hi, my friends has this phone no rooted and Lollipop stock firmware ver. 5.0.1 XXUHOH2 installed on phone.
Often it happens that the phone doesn't play the audio during the calls and only when she remakes the call the audio issue disappears.
On phone is installed Acr (Automatic call recordind) app but i tried to uninstall the app and the issue persisted.
I read some discussions about this problem and users report that the reset doesn't solve this problem.
Any suggestion??

I think but I'm not sure that the previous firmware was what you wrote but this issue has been verifying for a long time..
Edit: I'm sorry i was confused about firmware versions..
Because via Ota this update is not available yet.
I'll try to flash the version you suggested.
P.e.: I have tried to flash the xxuhoj2 firmware but I still have the issue. I can't say if it' s less frequent than before flash...
I tried to hit a wipe cache dalvik but it's the same. After many attempts of calls I still have noticed the issue.
Maybe a factory settings reset could fix the issue.... [emoji53]
P.p.e.: neither factory settings reset has solved the issue [emoji20]

I still think there'll be no problem. A full system restore will overwrite existing files on a partition. I don't think that lollipop changed the partition size or anything like that, so yes, no problem

I think you can restore hole system
and there will be no problem because when you
restore any things in android that auto
format & replace every things so I think
your device will be fine. You just try if not
restore then flash fresh kitkat rom and restore
backup again kitkat to kitkat
Thanks for all of u for suggesting, i have restored kitkat whole backup on lolipop, the thing is phone doesnt boot & it stays on samsung e7 screen forever & ever, the best part is it does takes you to recovery & the worst part is my lolipop nandroid backup is corrupted, which resulted in flashing a whole new stock rom!!!!!
