Best AOSP ROM ? - G Pad 8.3 General

Hi,
what is the best AOSP ROM for LG G Pad 8.3 (v500)?
Thanks!

My absolute favourite is Infected's CM 11 version, It has enough features but not too bloated (CM), and it is crazy fast! (Linaro and sabermod optimizations)

i've tried many roms on this forum for G Pad and this is the best
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2763153

Well I would say Mahdi for its features and customations (even without xposed which means u can use ART)

Everyone gets different results from different builds. Also we don't allow comparison threads as all of our developers put in a lot of work on each ROM.
The best advice it to try different builds and see what's best for you

Rom experience

I'm just wondering what others experiences of roms they have used on their nexus s i9023? I have just unlocked my bootloader. BTW I am a complete novice. Thanks

Cyanogenmod is probably going to be suited for you. If you are new and want all the new features and stability, Cyanogenmod is the way to go.
You can check it out here: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/.
If you want something simple, stock, minimal added features you may want to check out the other roms. Some have great additional features and other ones are optimized stock code that are built for speed/low memory use.
You'll just have to play with them to see what you like.
I run the Cyanogenmod nightlies with the latest 1.3.9 BFS Netarchy Kernel.
All can be found in the dev forums.
I'd recommend Oxygen to a complete new user, it got modifications & fixes, it's lightweight, fast & stable and imho a very good entry into NxS ROM world.
I also do tell them to keep their fingers off the cpu settings in Oxygen settings though, initially.
Thank you rentaric

I guess for a standard experience go CM7.
Personally my favorite is MIUI and for more stock experience liquid. MIUI is the most different than stock and the customization is so good. Liquid seem the fastest out of all the ROMs I have tried.

+1 for liquid with Oxygen a very very close second depending what you're looking for.
I liked that liquid had a bit more customization I could play around with vs. Oxygen.
I read CM was not working so well for the NS....
MIUI
great ROM great looking GUI tons of customization and really quick good battery life also better camera than stock

Cloudy ROM series - Comparison

Hello,
Can anyone tell us which cloudy rom is the best for daily use? As you may know, there are 3 different roms called cloudy.
I want to use one of them for my daily life but want to know which one is the best in terms of stability, features (4K recording and etc) battery life and etc..
Currently I use V20d Open UK.
Thanks a lot.
2 of them are just ports, the other one is stock.
Tried CloudyStock and CloudyFlex as daily drivers, both are very good on all aspects. Although Flex is a port, I haven't experienced any issue with it and it has my preference: All features from stock are available plus a few bells and whistles from Flex.
Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk
I personally like cloudypro ll the best. I like the firmware better on the pro than stock of flex. Although aosp is better in my opinion
Sent from my LG-VS980
wish someone test these 3 roms
All three rocks. Using cloudystock with flex skin.

[Q] Stock or AOSP Rom?

Hey guys just wanting to know if you all prefer Stock Roms or AOSP Based ones?
And also what kernels go well with what ROMS.
Cheers

Aosp based is better
Aosp can have any kernel
only cm based ROM need special kernel made only for them.
Thank you, So far ive found that SlimKat is the best for the D802 with the least amount of bugs, will be flashing Render Kernel in about 10 minutes to see the advantages
Stock + Xposed. More stable and the camera is better. The slight gains in battery and performance on AOSP are minimal and not worth losing the camera and stability (the g2 is a beast anyways and I get great battery life and speed on stock)
Uh how are you guys coping with the lack of the LG camera gap. I mean the Google camera sucks, and the mod by Jishnu sucks.
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Free mobile app
@NuroKnight calm down xd some people aren't making pictures everyday so aosp based roms are okay for them. Jishnu did his best to port the features, don't forget that you can't port any app like that easily and LG has putten alot of money and effort into their camera software to make it kickass, also in lowlight.

Best ROM for Nexus 7 2013

im getting the Nexus 7 from Google (7-Inch, 16 GB, Black) by ASUS (2013) Tablet
model #: NEXUS7 ASUS-2B16
i will be purchasing off amazon this week and was wondering in terms of: Stability, Performance/Battery, and customizations, which ROM is best for me?
i have been absent to the rooting/flashing scene since my galaxy s2 days, so please bare with me. i think i was using cyno or something back then lol.
There are a lot too choose from all good in various ways. I like dirty unicorns and liquid smooth.

thanks for the reply, i will look into both.. lmfao dirty unicorns
I like stock because it's stable, unlike most custom ROMs.
I'm running Exodus with no complaints. Smooth, problem free so far.
Stock.
Seriously though, no disrespect to all our great devs, but I haven't really felt much need to change much of anything from stock since Kit Kat came out. I used to use Xposed to change a few things here and there, but gave that up for the increased performance of the ART runtime once Kit Kat dropped. Stock Android is really great these days, and personally it's the main draw of a Nexus device. Properly optimized software released on or even ahead of Google's announcements, with the ability to build it easily yourself and restore your device from whatever shenanigans you've gotten it into; that's the Nexus experience.
That being said, I really enjoy optimizing performance as much as possible. A great rom for that is Flonaro, which is stock that's been optimized by building with the Linaro toolchain. Doing this properly is a challenge, but this is one that does it justice. Also, there are a ton of great kernels to choose from to take performance and often battery life to the next level. Franco kernel is awesome and I'm eagerly awaiting a Lollipop release. Check out ElementalX and Glitch kernel as well, flar2 and TK-Glitch are awesome devs that really pay attention to the users, and their kernels offer a ton of customization to balance performance and stamina. Just make sure you use only AOSP kernels on AOSP roms, there are alot of CAF-based roms and kernels as well (often referred to as CM variants, since CM clones Qualcomm's Code Aurora Forums repo rather than using pure AOSP as their base). Mixing a rom and kernel from these 2 different bases will not yield great results.

As a Nexus Device ,Nexus 7 (2013) got so many options..I use Clean ROM (Stock ROM with lot of performance optimizations) & Paranoid Android (Mostly Stable). As You Know about Custom ROMS,I would suggest you try each ROM by using MultiROM Manager from Playstore..This App helps You to install any number of ROMS simultaneously.
I suggest You to try Paranoid Android as it has some good features without compromising on Performance
Xposed Framework is an awesome Tool which brings a lots of customizations of Custom ROMs in Stock Android. Also Check the XDA developer page of Nexus 7 (2013) to find more ROMS info

thanks bon!
I really can't recommend enough Mahdi with Glitch 226 AOSP kernel
Been running paranoid android on my nex7 for a year and a half now without any issues. Stable as can be. Use Franco's kernel for extra stability and you're all set. Either that or stick to stock lollipop. Can't really go wrong with either of those options.

These are my favorites.
1. Liquid Smooth
2. Dirty Unicorns
Running KitKat + ElementalX AOSP (2.15) kernel.
Note: 3.xx ElementalX kernels are for Lollipop, so don't use them with KitKat.
There is no best Rom. Usually these threads are closed pretty quickly.
I'm surprised it's still here.

What can i say. Us Mods are only human, and even threads like this may slip through our keen grasp.
That said, what Mind says is right. There is no "best" ROM. Each is different; some adds customization, some focus on speed. There is no singular ROM that does it all. The best advice, is to try a few, and see which floats your boat, and go from there...

Whats Your Current favourite Rom?

Screw'd Android does have a nougat based rom (7.0), check out their Google + page. It runs awesome!!
I am surprised that u guys haven't used uberstock..
It's the fastest a rom on Android can be.. Super smooth and fast
Nitrogen OS has been my bread and butter for a couple months now.
One of my favorite Roms has to be Android Ice Cold Project.
It has so many features that you can mess around with to customize the experience the way you want it.
Probably the only downside to this Rom is that it drains battery much faster than Roms with less features, so if you want features but don't mind losing battery life, then this Rom is for you.
Another Rom I can recommend is jgcaap's custom CM13 builds.
It has a little more features than stock CyanogenMod 13 has but it saves a ton more battery life than AICP.
I've been using this Rom for quite a while now and I've had no problems with it so far.
Hope I've assisted you in some way
Have a great day!
