[Q] Play store does not update automatically - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
since recently my play store does not update my apps automatically anymore. Manually it works fine as I can see my apps require update but this should work on its own.
Using Dirty Unicorns ROM and iirc the update worked before but just recently it stopped somehow. I tried to clear cache and delete data for the play store app but did not change anything.

Maybe the update automatically setting in play store is turned off?

Nope, although in many cases it may be the most obvious solution but I checked already

What Gapps are you using ?
I can see that DU includes TRDS, a Slimkat rom feature.
We do have the same problem on Slimkat, it's due to the modified playstore included in the slim gapps (the one modified so it can change from white to black with the TRDS feature).
Download this : (it's safe, it comes from android police and i used it myself)
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23487008491963661
and install it.
You will get the latest playstore, unmodified, and things will be fixed (apps auto update).
The only downside is that your playstore won't be black anymore, even if TRDS is switched to on...

[Q] Limited market (Google Play)

Weirdest thing is going on in every single update I've been applying lately, let is be 7.2 official or KANG RC1, ICS nightlies or whatever (though I haven't reverted to the stable 7.1 just yet):
After a while, if not immediately, my market aka play store is unable to find me even the most trivial apps (such as YouTube). I AM able to install them after Googling and applying via Play Store, once prompted to select an action.
Is something going on that I'm not aware of lately?
My setup: internal install with data + cache + dalvik wipe
Maybe it is the telephone permission. Check Sam I am's ics nightly build thread.

Go to applications and clear the cache on google play. Then clear the data on google services framework, and restart the nook.
That's what worked for me. Hope it helps
I have the same problem with Swiftkey Tablet X. I had it installed previously. I recently re-installed Kang's latest 7.2 after wiping. I also ran DizzDen's IMEI generator and V6 Supercharger. Swiftkey Tablet X was listed in the Play Store, but it said it was incompatible with my device. I cleared the Play Store cache, cleared the Google Services Framework data the rebooted. Now I can not find it listed at all. Any suggestions?

Are you doing any build.prop edits? I have used Samsung GalaxyS edits since before I included the ability in the IMEI Generator... never have market device visibility issues.
I haven't done any manual build.prop edits. I have installed a ROM fresh and used your IMEI app at least 30-40 times. (Thanks very much, BTW!) The only thing I have done differently than normal is run the V6 Supercharger script. This is the first time I have tried to install it since the Market has changed to Google Play, though.

[Q] Google Play crash upon download

It's another one of that question!
mine's SM-G900I, rooted, and not flashed with any kind of ROMs, so I'm using the original, TouchWiz, just rooted
I have both Freedom, and Installer Cracked Google Play
Freedom is turned off, and I'm using the Chelpus' Google Play, version 4.6.17
Google Play Services at 4.4.52 version,
and Google Services Framework at version 4.4.2 (it's in the application manager, running, but for some reason not in /system/app)
tried going to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2299947 - Fail, only modded GP is in my phone now, and with GSF situation like I described above
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561960 - uninstalled with ES File, reboot then install mod / original, Fail
No SD card inside
Clear Cache + Data does not work either
anybody can help me?

Google Play problems after update

Hi, I have Cyagenmod running since about 1 year. With the latest 2 nightly releases I now got Android 5.1. The update was fine with the exception that there was no connection to the Google Play Store. Deleting the Cache did not help. Installing the complete GAPPS package failed as system memory is too low, therefore I installed the mini package. Still same problem. Now I installed the latest Google play Services APK with the result, that most Google apps (like music store) crash short time after a reboot. Sometimes even the keyboard does not work any more.
Any solution?
Ok, the keyboard works again, why so ever. But play store still does not have a connection.

Problem with Google Play Store

For more then 3 weeks now Im having a problem with GPS (google play store).
Im using XXX version 9.6 and in that version there was added support for xposed.
Ive did a clean flash and afterward GPS didnt open at all. Ive re install the rom without the xposed support. This time GPS open but no new updates are been shown and when I click on the ¨installed" tab no apps are shown.
Ive tried reinstall the flash again, updating the GPS and the Plat services, delete cache and data and to remove my account and add it again but nothing works.

Serious play store problem

hello!
I'm having a serious problem in play store, as I can't download or update apps, it either gets stuck on "download pending" or "downloading"
things I've tried so far:
- clearing ps cache & data & even uninstalled updates, also tried different versions
- force closed downloads & download manager & even cleared data and cache, tried to disable and enable
- remove & add my google account
- wiped cache partition
- rebooting to safe mode
I'm really frustrated as I can't identify the problem,, one thing to add: when I reboot.. it somehow works for like 2-3mins then it stops downloading and the notification dissapears.. no errors or pop-ups, it just stops.. please I need help!
Check the permissions granted
Enable everything as a test
Google is getting ridiculously strict with them
Then disable 1 at a time.
Also ensure & test the same for its dependencies.
.
I'll be moving away from gapps soon enough
Do we really have a good alternate for GApps which just works as flawlessly as GApps without sacrificing something in return? Let me know as well.

MicroG, that's the only alternative way. But Gapps is only a collection of apps(except play store and services) so there are plenty of other apps.
But then it's not as fluid as what GApps is? What about Google Framework? I understand there is an option but its this framework that is stalling Huawei and other manufactures from staying away from Google Servies. I Believe this is the reason Huawei has recently introduced the HMS so that it would be integrated as smooth as what GApps and services provide? Otherwise, even though their are options right now they are not tightly integrated and cnt provide the seamless and fluid experience which Google can provide right now!
