hello!
I'm having a serious problem in play store, as I can't download or update apps, it either gets stuck on "download pending" or "downloading"
things I've tried so far:
- clearing ps cache & data & even uninstalled updates, also tried different versions
- force closed downloads & download manager & even cleared data and cache, tried to disable and enable
- remove & add my google account
- wiped cache partition
- rebooting to safe mode
I'm really frustrated as I can't identify the problem,, one thing to add: when I reboot.. it somehow works for like 2-3mins then it stops downloading and the notification dissapears.. no errors or pop-ups, it just stops.. please I need help!
Check the permissions granted
Enable everything as a test
Google is getting ridiculously strict with them
Then disable 1 at a time.
Also ensure & test the same for its dependencies.
.
I'll be moving away from gapps soon enough
Do we really have a good alternate for GApps which just works as flawlessly as GApps without sacrificing something in return? Let me know as well.

MicroG, that's the only alternative way. But Gapps is only a collection of apps(except play store and services) so there are plenty of other apps.
But then it's not as fluid as what GApps is? What about Google Framework? I understand there is an option but its this framework that is stalling Huawei and other manufactures from staying away from Google Servies. I Believe this is the reason Huawei has recently introduced the HMS so that it would be integrated as smooth as what GApps and services provide? Otherwise, even though their are options right now they are not tightly integrated and cnt provide the seamless and fluid experience which Google can provide right now!

OK having problems i have :
Wiped data, cache, ext,
repartitioned with default setting using CM recovery,
flashed CM 4.2.15.1
Now the market appears to only be partially working, no paid apps tab and the downloads tab is empty ie it doesnt show my purchased apps
If i install any apps they are not recognised and after a reboot force close on opening.
I gave up yesterday night and today and magically the market is back and functioning properly including any apps i install and my list of purchased apps!! The only apps not working were the ones i installed prior to the market being fully functional although if i uninstall and install again they work no problem.
Great so seems like it fixed itself!! Not trusting this i wiped again to start from scratch and bang here i am again with a partially functioning market.
I have tried :
Running the script to remove the vending database - no help
Wiping the data and ext - no help
gtalk log in/out - no help
Help!!!!
Sounds to me like it's not signing you in all the way or something. Not sure how you would solve it, but maybe try a different ROM and see if the problem persists. Hopefully someone else can help you out a little more.
I have no idea why, but when I flash cyanogen google paid apps never show, probably google being a ***** as they kind of banned him(read about it on google) . Try a different rom ,Cyanogen aint that great anyways.

Google hasn't "banned" him, they tried to protect their IP. It was completely within their rights, and although the community may hate Google for it, they have no reason to "ban" CM from the market.
So I intalled this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108027 on my Bayer Motorola Defy MB525 and everything looks great, really fast system and saw no critical bugs.
At first I intalled without aroma installer and flashed gapps. Google Market didn't update. I tried manually updating it but I kept receiveng this message:
"Google play services, which some of your application rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer for assistance"
Now I intalled with aroma installer and the gapps are included. The Google Play is the old one but it doesn't update nor let me use google services. I can't use a lot of apps [Google+, Youtube login, Foursquare, Hangouts (new Talk), ] without that and I keep receiving the annoying message all the time.
Does anyone knows what can I do? Any manual configuration I can do, like changing the phone name on build.prop or something?

Okay so I found out that this rom have a lot of redundancies about baseband selection and it doesn't work very well with brazilian baseband so thanks for anyone who read this and try to help.
did you try wipe dalvik/cache? or clear google play data first?

Good news everyone!
ivan made Android 5.0 for our devices!
It's finished last week and being tested on Monday. No serious bugs. Do not recommend dual-boot.
Bugs:
Making calls using Bluetooth headsets might cause system FC
CDMA SIM card is not perfectly supported
Dual system not recommended

Hi,
first of all thanks a lot for getting this gem available for us Mi2s users.
Testing with true dual boot, BUT installing LP on "/system" i.e system1 from CWM.
Everything good with naked Android, but now I want to install the gapps, and here it fails.
I tested gapps-lp-20141107-signed.zip and gapps-lp-20141107-small.zip (you can find it there https://yadi.sk/d/HMFRTJarcjLZq)
I first wiped /cache, /system from CWM, flashed aosp-aries-4.11.11-android-5.0.0.ivan.zip within "install from zip" in CWM.
Booted it to see how it works: fine. Rebooted to CWM and then flashed gapps.
With big gapps : no google play available, i can add a google account from the settings > accounts > add Google Account,
but then I got from Hangout, Gmail messages like "Google Play Services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer for assistance."
So framework services got a problem apparently.
with small gapps : I got a Google Play icon in the application menu, but as soon as it starts, it just closes making the screen flicker for a microsecond. And it's not possible to add google account in the Setting > Account.
Guys, any hint about that problem with gapps ?
EDIT: I will investigate the size problem of /system mentionned here http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/...-problem-wcm-11-20140608-snapshot-m7-epicmtd/ and go again for the gapps-small version.
EDIT2: even with disabling TDB the "Google Play Service" problem persists
Cheers
there is an update

yeah Bucci, well actually in-between there was an update, that worked without a problem with the Gapps : 4.11.28.
Now this update (4.12.5, http://en.miui.com/thread-67452-1-1.html, better to give the real forum post, than DL link IMHO) removes built-in GMS and after manually flashing different GAPPS, it never works and Play forces closes.
I don't know what Ivan did with the integration of GMS in 4.11.28, but it worked fine :-/
PS: well okay, after wiping everything and flashing againg 4.12.5 + gapps-lp-small, that's indeed working. Forget about it.
So I'm trying to run this app on my tablet, which I've already purchased on my note 5, but I keep getting this error when I open the app.. The app is called MHD Flasher N54, it's a tuning app for my car which on my phone I purchased some in-app stuff and it should recognize this on my tablet but it doesn't.
Any help?
Thanks in advance

Check to make sure Google play services is up to date. Go into settings > application manager > all (it might be called applications or manage applications). Click Google play services; if the version number starts with anything other than 8.7.03, play services needs to be updated. Even if it is up to date, you should try clearing cache and data. If it is not up to date, download from here and make absolutely certain you're getting the right variation: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-8-7-03-release/
Just to be sure, you should also try checking the same things with Google play store (ie is it up to date, version 6.0.5 or newer, and try clearing cache and data). If all that doesn't solve it, you should consider a more drastic solution: factory reset, then immediately install official firmware with Odin
I did uninstall updates and reinstall them for google play services, but I didn't check the play store yet, I'll give it a check and report back.. And yeah I'm not concerned if I have to factory reset it so worse case scenario I'll give that a shot, just hoped there was an easier fix.. thanks again..

If you want to avoid the reset, I forgot to recommend trying to install a gapps package. You'd need a custom recovery; if you don't have one already I can show you exactly which one you'd need if you don't mind telling me your tablets model number (settings > about device > device model). I recommend opengapps because they have up to date gapps packages compatible with all devices running any version of android KitKat or newer (4.4 +) plus if you read this: https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options you can tell the stock gapps package exactly which Google apps to install or not install (to system which in my opinion makes an app run smoother than installing as a use app) as well as exactly which stock Samsung apps to remove and which to keep
I installed the new google calculator app with dark theme yesterday and it was working fine until today where the app itself disappeared and i can't find it in settings or disabled apps, i tried to reinstall the apk but it shows this, i tried from the play store and it shows this, i tried to use a method i used before to bypass this kind of issues by slightly changing the package name in an apk editor app and it used to work, now it's just giving me "problem parsing the package"
please any help
Another user reported the app had occupied 1GB space on his phone, so the app seems buggy.
If you cannot clean the apps memory/cache in settings/apps anymore and uninstall then I would suggest you search for the com.google.android.calculator folder(s) on your phone and manually them. Then from TWRP also wipe dalvik cache and cache on next start and for the time being, until Google fixes it, use another calculator.
I am happy with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shaytasticsoftware.calctasticfree (only 2.9 MB and better reviews than Google).
