Some custom roms have a "deep sleep" mode (Omnirom has it)

Can you tell us more about that deep sleep mode?

Sorry, my mistake. I mixed up with the "cpu deep sleep" functionality. But it's hard to find detailed info on the matter.

just stop using your phone, that will be the most ultimate trick to save your battery life...

Actually, there is a way... overclock it, undervolt it, then limit maximum freq. I am gettimg i think 20% more battery life just by doing that. See here. I've got my defy to run on the lowest freq at vsel 17 and still going down... just do it gradually as it depends on the manufacturing tolerances of the cpu inside.

[U8800 BATTERY Issues] Some tips

This research is completly based on previous posts here on xda by other members + based on my testing:
1. Get app CpuSpy from the market. Observe with it if your phone goes to "deep sleep" or not.
2. If you see your phone doesn't enter deep sleep, go to Applications, Battery use and close all applications like default Email app (that caused my phone to constantly use ~245Mhz of my CPU when idle), also check your widgets for various weather updates, ...
3. Apply latest franco kernel (with my experience, this kernel also improved my battery life)
4. Make sure you have turned off in Settings, Date & Time, "Automatic".
5. Disable data transfer under Wireless & Networks.
6. Set Brightness level to Automatic as screen drains the battery alot.
7. Apply the custom roms provided here (MIUI, Oxygen) which are based on Gingerbread (2.3), which also has better battery usage than FroYo (2.2), especialy on U8800.
Hope this helps for some people here
Thanks for the information
but I think if I do all of that, it makes no sense to buy a smartphone in first place

no sense? damn you crazy! the guy says nothing about any of crucial smarphones features. What you can't live with automatic brightness? or with franco kernel?
Selecting 2g over 3g aimake huge difference in battery life.

only the data connection otherwise ur right as hell
THE BIGGEST impact on battery life is as you all may know- DISPLAY. You can disable everything, but those things only takes 20-30% of battery everything else is for display. So.. turn ir off D Its very bad that all roms allows you only to minimize brightness to 11% but i want to minimize it even more, but they do not allow me. cause at nights 11% is too bright for me.
I even thinking to compile my own modified franco kernel just because of that DD But with MIUI rom it shows bull**** in battery usage.

if magictwins means points (2) and (5), i have to agree with him..
theres no point in using a smartphone if i do as suggested..

I didn't mean any of them. I mean all of them...
I agree with the guy that said there is no much point using smartphone if you don't use data or application syncs etc. At least thats why I use android phones.

I just wanted to post few tips for better battery performance. Anyhow, to the trolls in this topic:
Yesterday i discovered a nice app called 2X battery and tried it today.
As usually my battery goes from 100 to 50 by 12hrs, so with this 2xbattery on, its almost 15hrs and batter is still 67%
nice app 10p

It maybe usefull for people who don't know what they do.. I can't imagen how it can save battery when my brighness is on lowest possition, gps, data, wi-fi, sync, bluetooth is disabled and 2G enabled. So i don't have a clue how app can help

exactly, it just helps the "non nerds" out there with zero to little knowledge of their device and OS

it just common sense, no need to be nerd. We al know that everything that is running - uses cpu - cpu uses energy so it's battery - that's the whole nerd part
Can you update the franco Kernel on a stock rom? and If I don't like it, if I restore backup from clockworkmod will the old kernel come back?
Thanks

AFAIK no. Franco stated that his kernel only works with 2.3 ROM. The stock one is 2.2.

[Q] Question about deep sleep and charging

Hi i have a couple of questions and i will just gather them all in one thread. I'm using dzo's ICS version 2.05 and the 3.0.8 kernel if it makes any difference to any of the questions.
1. What is deep sleep? I saw someone mention it on the forum and wondered what is it.
2. Does deep sleep turn on automatically? If so when does it turn on, and if not how do i turn it on?
3. Can the battery get overcharged? Couse im charging it in the night while i sleep so it is at 100% a while.
4. I's it any difference between the Huawei Ideos X5 and the Huawei Titan u8800? or is it the same phone just with two different names?
That was all for now even tho i probobly will have more questions at another time xD
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Deep sleep is a kind of power save mode, phone enters it automatically, you can monitor it with app cpu spy.
Battery cant be overcharged, they are protected against it...
So it doesnt matter that its in the charger a couple of hours when its at 100%?
Thanks for the answers! xD
Nope, it just maintains the full charge...
Lots of info can be found by googling li-ion charging or li-ion protection

Yes...
I had my battery once 10h in charger when it was full and now it lasts 2h less.

Better 'Battery optimization' or something useful

Is there something useful like a modded, better battery optimization, or something truly usefull for Nexus 6p battery?

Get a good app like GSAM to tell you what's using your battery. Greenify can also help you put apps into hibernation more quickly, though I'm not sure it's as helpful with more doze in Nougat. Lastly, leave your phone sitting motionless and it'll go into deep doze more quickly

Ye but i mean... Default "Battery optimization" (i mean the setting feature) is veeery weak, arent there something more 'deep'?
And also, does 1080x1920 worth in terms of battery life?

There is a forum on XDA about 1200x1920 this but it doesn't do very much for your battery, a little bit but it seems not worth it, some apps have difficulties with an alternate resolution then the default 2K resolution we have.

Yeah. Use an app as I suggested so you know what's actually using it. You can't apply a general solution to a specific problem in this case. You might have something wakelocking your phone, or an app behaving oddly. Many Android defaults aren't as good as you may want (ie - stock sound), so that's the beauty of OS. You can tweak and customize to your specific liking.
Turn the phone off.

Phone gets slow when under 30% ZTE Axon 7 Help

Hi there, I've owned a Axon 7 for 8months now and I can't remember how it used to be battery wise at the start but for the past months now when it drops to 30 or 25% battery the phone get really laggy and is super annoying. Is there a fix to this? Thanks
Check the settings in Power Manager. Might be set to reduce performance too much when low on juice. Probably got it on auto ultra mode too.
Have you fixed your problem? I have the same question, so I want to know......
Phone shuts down its 2 High Performance cores, 2 little Low Power ones only work then. IDK why, maybe something in ZTE's power managment, ez fix just go to performance mode
