its ok to have that gap. The area above volume keys is weak spot in locking of gorrila glass. it's a design flaw the thin strip of plastic
created due to hole for volume buttons is weak and bends easily causing glass to slip. in new pieces that area is held with some kind of adhesive tape inside.
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the gap in all e7 models .it's common in alliwas scared and went to service center for a check. Got relief after checking other mobiles ,
Anyway thanks for your help

Okay. In some shop a test model of the galaxy s2 have well scratches its very waird. Can I remove the scratches with duplex scracht remover? Sorry from my english I come from the netherlands.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
A scratch remove should work find on the home button - certainly easier than it would on the glass!
If you have any spare screen protectors, you may want to check them as some of them still have the cut-out bit for the home button attached to them, so you could trim it slightly and use that.
Other than that I wouldn't worry about it - it's very unlikely to happen and even if it does it doesn't affect the phone in any way whatsoever. If you saw a display model with scratches then that's because it's currently one of the most popular phones in the world and hundreds of people will have played with it every day, probably including small children and apes.

You would have to be an ape to get scratches on your Gorilla Glas.
As for the home button i think its just plastic but it has a silver bezel around it so may be finger nails scratching it.
okay! and no in the light? when you look in the light you can see scratches? i dont have anyone scratches on my phone only on the home buttom, the home buttom have no gorrila glass or what????

No, nothing at all and with the way they've designed it, I have to use my nails to press the home button.

No disrespect, but I seriously doubt that people would be interested in some scratches on your home button that you can very rarely see.
Forget about them
I don't have any scratches either. I do take precious care of my phone and thankfully, nothing has happened to it yet.
i also do have several scratches not visible from the first glance... little bit dissapointed, but do not pay much attention. Saw some protectors on ebay, but those only with svarovskiy crystals. xD expensive - but really does not worth it unless u r a lady

okay well a few of you may no that my epic broke well i decided to completely disassemble it to prep it for repair. I noticed something while i was examining the screen hinge. The edge pieces are very wobbly, i think this is because samsung didnt use any washers on the screws. Well because ive never seen washers that small i decided to substitute them for something that will hold the piece still and will squeeze the hinge better. The answer is super glue... yeah that's right super glue( or nail glue if you don't have any and your mom/wife has it). Basically i layed the back plate hinges down and applied a bit of pressure and glued were there was a small valley (left side) and for the right side i did the same but instead of glueing in a valley it has a corner edge that i glued. I will find out just how sturdy it is when my screen comes today. it seemed very sturdy because i screwed a sheet of plastic i had and tired to wiggle it like it would if it were on the phone and it didnt budge at all. The slider mechanism still slides extremly smoothly to if you wanna take it a step further u can dip the head of a small screwdriver in some oil (not wd40 i think itl melt the plastic) and just touch the valleys were the slider moves in to let them move a little better hope this helps ill be posting picture later.
okay so in regards to the picture pon the left side glue in the seperated areas only ere the arrows point on the right side do the same but the seperated areas are a little less critical
Edit* actually use the back side of a needl ergo the non pointy side haha happy (extremely simple) modding
edit* in the words of shirley temple "oh my guness" it works like a charm theres almost no wobble at all i decided to put some painters tape under the metal slider bar and now its very very solid its about as solid as... the droid 3 and any body who has used it knows that that screen is on there tight
edit* my only concern now is how will the flat cable hold up with such a tight screen..... its worth a shot i have 2 so i have 2 tries at this

I just took a case off my phone and noticed a hair line crack in the housing, between the head phone jack and the volume rocker. The crack extends from the back glass to the front bezel, perpendicular to direction of volume rocker. It looks like it was meant to be there, but I haven't noticed it before. I am wondering if anyone else got one of these and if it is normal (was meant to be there)? Picture attached. Thanks.
EDIT: Seems that every one has them in all of the corners apart from bottom right, they appear to be just seams. Now I can relax.

I'm thinking it's a seam. I have a faint line on the upper left corner as well, which is why I asked for a picture.
I have it in all corners apart from bottom right. I think they're just seams from the manufacturing process.

now that you've mentioned it, i have them too in all of the corners apart from bottom right. Not sure how I did not notice it before
Hmm, now that I looked a little harder I have it on two corners and maybe a 3rd. They appear in different degrees of visibility. I have to believe that these seams are probably not supposed to be visible. I guess whatever process they use to blend the seems is not working as well as they would have liked.
Added picture to OP.
It's just a seam, that's all. However they mold the soft rubber bezel had some large build tolerances I guess. You'll be fine.

I ordered two phones, and both of them has it. In the top corners. It's very difficult to see.

mine has it too...its VERY hard to see unless you're really looking for it
I noticed when I was holding my nexus with my pinky touching the bottom of the phone, it made a clicking sound. I further investigated it and it seems like whenever I touch the bottom of the phone (right next to the usb port), I get this large clicking sound. Anybody else have this problem? It seems really awkward as that isn't even a button or anything and it makes this large sound. I think I am going to RMA it. The sound gets louder the more times I press that area.
I had this click too. I fixed it myself by taking a torx screwdriver and giving the 2 screws on the bottom a good tightening. No longer clicks. Getting an RMA over a small click seems like overkill to me.

Oh thanks for the tip. I also got this other annoying but livable defect. It makes this popping sound sometimes when I click on any virtual button but with this bottom click out of the way I guess I will live with it.
I have it too, but I tried to tighten the screws and they wouldn't move at all. Didn't want to stress it too much.
However I do have a Ringke case on, so I don't feel it anymore.

Same exact everything.
Like, seriously, this would've been my reply. LOL.
The Nexus 4 is 2 pieces of glass with a metal chassi and components sandwiched together with a plastic border holding it all together so it will be quite common for there to be sounds from the rigid glass being pushed against the simi-ridged plastic especially whith changes in the weather temp.

Hi All,
I have an issue with the S5 battery cover.
When I hold the phone and by mistake I squeeze it from the middle-right area of the body (as highlighted in the picture), the clips on the right side of the phone cracks and some how I need to push on the edge to push them back to their normal position.
I am afraid it impacts the water resistance of the device. and I am wondering about the material quality if it is that weak.
Please tell me if you have the same issue.
Thanks,

What do you mean cracks? Mine makes a small noise if I squeeze pretty hard but I don't think it will affect the water resistance as it's not disconnecting, just sounds like it's straining.
If it's a loud noticeable crack and you have to click it back in place afterwards then the side of the case could be open enough to let water in.

I tried it also in another mobile, and the same happened. looks like it is normal like this.
I have been over some threads that mention this issue, but just found this one that really describes what is happening on my s5.
Did you happen to have it fixed by Samsung? I just tested with some water again on top of it and it leaked quite a bit of water inside next to the sd card - everything still works and i dried everything but won't try that again so soon =/
