I want to use MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_DOWNLINK. - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello, i am novice android developer.
first, sorry to my English is poor..
I make call recorder with Galaxy S2 and S4 now. so i used Voice_downlink.
But it is not working.
I found that. but i can't find solution.
I find downlink is sometimes sealed by manufacturer because of hardware chipset.
if seal is true, i want to unseal by editing kernel source or S2 or etc...
my S2 is rooted.
please give me solution who knows. I'll very thanks to you and pleased.
Thanks to read my thread!

PD: Sorry if i write something wrong... And thanks all comunity
PD: Sorry! I foget "???" in headline...
knobody can tell me if developers will use UK version?
first learn to speak decent english... its very hard to digest the meaning of what you are asking & moreover, you are asking something which no one has.... why do you need that NFC technology ???
once it becomes popular, then you can think of that.... you know there is a technology where you can use this NFC function on SIM card.... i dont remember where i read it.... if that NFC method becomes so popular in your country, this technology will also become popular & it will be available for all....
till then dont worry about the NFC & better start learning some simple & understandable english pls.... or ask an apology at the end of your post.... atleast

I know what he was asking, no need to try and be pretentious.
I don't know the answer to your question. It depends what country the developers are in etc.
It also depends upon the devs having access to the SGS 2 . Buy them one and i am sure it will be worked on .
Devs are a hobby not paid for they do it in their spare time and have to buy their own phones .
Russian devs but Russian SGS UK devs buy UK SGS .
As the SGS 2 is barely released who knows about NFC yet .
jje
Thanks everybody...
Sorry again for my english.. maybe is not normative.. But it think that somebody who knows english can understand it..
It's okay, your English is alright. It's not intuitive to understand but it gets the message across.
We do not know which areas will be getting NFC versions, when they will get them, or how incompatible they will be with each other.
If stuff for one version works, or is easily modified to work on the other version then there will be no problem. This is what I believe to be likely, but have no way of confirming. After all, we do not really have any details about the NFC version.
Personally I would not worry too much either way.
I think no matter it has NFC or not, only if it is i9100,roms will be compatible.
Or in another word,if the ROM of NFC version is not compatible with non NFC version, the name of NFC version won't be i9100.
At the Samsung Galaxy on Ice event in germany they said that the NFC version will only be available in Korea.

you're a bit of a twat aren't you? instead of asking him to apologize for his lack of english skills we should be asking you to apologize for being such a pedantic asshole. this is an international community with members from all over the world. expecting everyone who comes here to have perfect english skills is unrealistic. lastly, i noticed that everyone that appears to be native english speakers had no problem figuring out what he was asking.
Let's get the rules out here.

4. Use the English language.
We understand that with all the different nationalities not everyone speaks English well, but please try. If you're really unable to post in English use an online translator, You're free to include your original message in your own language below the English translation.

Well clearly he tried, I know a forum post can be rude quickly since emotions/facial expressions can't be read but still, think about what you post.

Be nice, be helpful.
By the look of it, this device seems way too awesome not to get a lot of developer support. Plus by the sounds of it, a lot of the SGS kernel work with regards to CM7 will be portable across here? I'm definitely going to be trying to get my hands on it! (Not that I count as much of a kernel dev, but we will get some real pro devs for sure! )
As to NFC or no NFC versions, they will probably be a different model number if it requires kernel changes. The kernels will probably be very similar anyway and easily portable between different SGS2 models, as with the SGS1. Except for the non amoled/exynos cpu versions, which would have very different drivers.

Well I am not a rom dev but what I wonder is this: can't NFC or non-NFC be solved with seperate drivers or does android require it in the kernel? Am I thinking too much windows now?

[Q] CyanogenMod confirm CM to S4 I9500?

I see it on g+....
... "Finally, just a note that Exynos 3 and Exynos 5 devices are not impacted by the information above. The Nexus S allows for a solid Exynos 3 base, and the Nexus 10 for the Exynos 5 base. We have an i9500 in hand and will be working towards bringing the Exynos 5 Octo platform up to release quality as well. "

Oh for heavens sake...
Thread cleaned, can you take all your *****ing, whining and general crap off XDA and onto facebook or somewhere where I don't have to deal with it.
AndreiLux we are all well aware of what you think of the moderators on here, I think through your shed loads of anti-moderation posts you've made it clear so there is no need to go on and on and on about it, its getting old and boring reading/dealing with it. Enough is enough.
Edit:

I was asked a question about something and I answered it how it it, and even avoided adding any details as to not escalate it. This is the first time somebody even asks about it or I publicly even mention it over the last several weeks, so if I that's your definition of shed loads, then deal with it.

You know well enough I was referring to your history of anti-moderation posts stemming from late 2012.
And despite your claims of not wanting to escalate it, it seems to me that you did want to escalate it because as with several of your posts you were plain nasty or your branch of sarcasm (whatever you want to call it) when there was no need to be and having that sort of tone in your posts is always going to draw a response.
Anyways, as I said, enough. If you want to continue this discussion then PM me.
Everybody, back on topic please.

[Q] Noob question about i9500 sources

Hi,
I know a fair bit about linux and programming and got an i9500 in India.
There seem to be a lot of (legitimate) hate among developers regarding the Exynos5 due to open sourcing problems by Samsung.
My main question is that there are various kernels such as Wanham and Perseus for the i9500, can't the ROMs be built from those.
Is there a noob friendly guide so that one can understand that. I searched, but didn't find anything. Will be great if someone can point me in the right direction. I am sure I am missing a lot of info and want to help in any way I can in making the i9500 ROM.
Thanks in advance guys. I had the CM10.1 on my i9300 before this phone and die everyday I have to use TW.
Tanshu
i would like to know the answer to this as well!
+1

Convert Samsung Galaxy S III SHV-E210K to International version

Dear All,
I have been facing an issue of slow gprs on my Samsung Galaxy S3 SHV-E210K due to edge network and HSDPA network not being shown while gprs is connected(instead, G and 3G are shown). The internet speed has dropped to as low as 1/6 of the original (which I get on my Nokia C5 phone).
I have a strong feeling that if I convert this korean version of Galaxy S3, I will be able to solve the problem. Please help me converting it completely to international version like Galaxy S3 I9305 because the configuration is exactly the same.
I dont know how to root, how to install custom rom, where can they be found. But a step by step guide will surely help me a great deal. I have heard that this is the best site for all the android forums. Please post the complete solution as soon as possible.
First read the rules on posting, questions go in the q&a section -report your own post and ask a moderator to move it.
What you are asking is not possible, if you want the i9300 then buy one.
To learn how to configure your E210K properly then use the search facility, read and learn.

Questions about Exynos and Android development

Hello dear, I have a galaxy note 4 which is an N910u (exynos). I know that CyanogenMod does not support this s**t. Also, I miss the old days with my CM 11 s3 LTE. Therefore, I want to contribute to the work in bringing CM into Exynos. However, I am NOT a well educated developer or even a developer. I googled many pieces of information, I found that there are just too much. I can hard to related them all into a single system. So I got some questions in starting my journey. I will be glad if you can help me. Thank you.
1. Apart form git, what should I learn in order to start my journey?
2. I am wondering if a person (LIke me, not even a developer) can look into Exynos Chipsets. Or should I leave this out?
3. I can't relate the role of Kernel, Baseband, Recovery, boatload and Rom in a phone. Even if I have googled what they are, I still haven't got the idea of them. Could someone please help me explain them in a simpler way?
I will keep this post updated.
Hello? Anybody here?
CM is available for the Note 4 Exynos: CLICK
It's still a WIP though.
