Did you download the emoji keyboard? Try switching to the lg one and then changing it in language and input ????

Is there a way to install the stock keyboard so I don't have to switch keyboard for emojis?

I installed the stock keyboard by uninstalling the ROM one in data/apps and than installing the stock one. That worked but I can't enable the keyboard in settings. Help please.

Help with removing swype files.

So I have a mytouch3.5mm. This phone included swype as a default program. Long story short, I am also in the swype beta and received an email saying there is a new version. I didn't know how to remove a core file, so I posted a thread on t-mobile forums. A guy told me to use titanium to uninstall swype that way, so I did. I tried to install the new swype app but I get an error saying it cannot be installed on this device. Also at the beginning of the install it asks if its okay to replace the app. So I look through my files in manage applications and I see one last swype related file. "com.swype.android.inputmethod" I click on it and it says app not found. I'm assuming I cannot install the new swype because my phone thinks this file is still there(the file size is 0.00kb). How do I go about removing that file and getting swype back on my phone? Thanks for any advice you guys may have.

change the keyboard on stock

i searched and all i could find was how to change the keyboard on a non stock rom.
i was wondering how to go about changing the keyboard on a stock rom, i installed thumb keyboard but as you know the stock roms do not have a place to change the keyboard in the settings.
would i need to place the files in the system data/ app (i dont remember which one it was) like i did when i had cm7 on my fire?

Have u tried this one?
Hidden Settings
I did this to get swype before I switched to CM7/CM9 I think what I ended up doing is downloading a hidden settings app, which allowed me to locate the option for keyboards. I think there is one available from amazon market, and a few in the play store.
think you mean this one:

Your new keyboard must be copied to system/app (with rooted device)
Then use nook color app to switch keyboard

[ICS] Default Keyboard disappeared

Ok I just installed WP7 Gingerbread keyboard from the market and after that I dont have any other input method available than "WP7 Gingerbread Keyboard" and "Google Voice Input" .
I used to have a fine ICS default keyboard.
I am using Epsylon's CM9 btw. After uninstalling WP7 Gingerbread keyboard, I am left with google voice and there isnt a keyboard in it. Please do suggest how to bring it back.
I want to use default keyboard to fit in with the themes for CM9 I use
Thank You

What if you reflash the same rom without wiping data, maybe that'll work??

I extracted LatinIME.apk and installed it manually. It asked me to overwrite so I confirmed. Now the keyboard in Settings > Apps appears as DISABLED.
I have already tried wiping cache / dalvik, install the nightly again with wipe cache + dalvik, but to no avail. Too "Betaphobic" to move on to JB as a complete wipe, as I love the stability of CM9 otherwise.
I wish I never installed the wp7 keyboard app.

Disable Samsung Keyboard?

Hi all!
I'm trying to permanently disable the Samsung Keyboard. The problem is, randomly the keyboard will be set back as my default. If I uncheck the keyboard and reboot the device, it is checked again. I'd like to use swiftkey as my primary keyboard, but not if I have to change back every few hours.
Anyone know how to resolve this issue?
I'm rooted and running Dynamic Kat v4. I have chosen to use the stock keyboard under the roms settings.
Thanks!

Once you installed a different keyboard go to /system/app and add .bak to LatinIME.apk (LatinIME.apk.bak) or delete it, reboot and the Samsung keyboard will not start up again.
As you've rooted your device, you can permanently delete samsung keyboard from system - app..
Better keep a backup first of those files which you want to delete.. So later if you face any problem, so you can restore them..

If rooted, other solution after installing other keyboard (mine's swipe keyboard) is to freeze samsung keyboard by Titanium Backup.
That's what I did and works well.
Best regards
Franky
Thanks for the help all.
I couldn't find LatinIME.apk, maybe because I have a custom rom loaded or I wasn't using the right tool to look for the file. I tried file manager and even windows explorer when connected to my PC but didn't find the file.
Used Titanium Backup and it worked like a charm.
Thanks all!

Latest N beta broke gesture in Pinyin Input

Pinyin input got updated to 4.3.something, but in play store it's still shown as 4.1 which was updated on Jan 7.
And now I can't do gesture input although the switch is on in its setting. Curiously, I tried a few other input methods that support gesture typing for pinyin, and all of them don't work. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this, or could maybe take a minute and see if it's present on their devices. Thanks!
Edit: I tried to install an older version of Pinyin from apkmirror, but it says the package is corrupt and won't allow me to install that. I used the arm64 version.
