[Q] Iconbit Calisto 100 SW - Other SmartWatches

I think i have my my decision on getting the Iconbit Callisto 100 smart watch.
(Although the iconbit callisto 300 has nicer features its still nowhere to be found to buy. )
I also looked at the i'm watch but its price is absurd. although it looks cool.
The iconbit callisto 100 has nice features and they say it can last 3+ days!
now for my question.
if i pair it with my note 3 via bluetooth, is it possible to receive notifications on the watch? keep in my that these both are considered full fledged android devices.
I was thinking about tablet notifier... but is there anything better / else?

That's just a Chinese OEM watch. Same watch as the Omate. Available for relatively cheap on Alibaba.
And yeah, you'd have to use an app like Tablet Notifier. Or this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2740033

color me confused.
the callisto is russian not chinese.
also, the callisto according to videos i found on youtube lasts between 3-4 days with actual use.
the omate isnt even available. pre-ordering the thing right now before the 30th and then waiting 45+ days!
furthermore. i cant even find the callisto on alibaba or aliexpress. i ordered mine from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Iconbit-Calli...8&qid=1401001938&sr=8-1&keywords=callisto+100
i hope i didnt make a mistake ordering this thing ... pls correct me if iam wrong.

The Callisto is a rebranded Chinese watch.

http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/1-54-Inch-Capacitive-Touch-Screen_1729410989.html
All are essentially the same watch with a slightly different packaging. Iconbit even uses the last link's advertising material to advertise their watch. The Omate watch is the same thing, just a rebranded Chinese watch. They all claim between 3-4 days of use (75 hours).

There's another one called Z8 for $150 check it out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743915
Its the 512MB RAM 4GB model. Its been purchased and tested by a user, in fact it has some advantages over the omate.

which smartwatch does people recomend please

hi i have just stumbled across this forum, and it looks a very good set out, i am receiving my samsung galaxy note 3 tommorow and i am looking for a really good smartwatch to go with this, but my budget is tight at moment, so looking for good advice please on which 1 to get, it has to have full android on as then i have heard you can put as many apps as you want, so please some good suggestions on which 1 to purchase and where to purchase from would help me out a lot thanks
You say your budget is tight, then brand smart watch should not be considered.
One I know is i95 smart watch, $84 in tinydeal, with 512MB 4GB storage, can download many app to have fun
I have bought one and hope it work well.
moto I think !
thanks guys, u say moto one of you, where is link for the moto one please
The moto 360 is a very good wearable. The first gen model is very cheap nowadays, but the second gen is here too if you're on a bigger budget.
If you want something basic, there's the GT08 for about 40USD, its pretty good for the price, but its very basic.

Brand new from high volume reputable ebay sellers- about $85USD
About once a month or so you find a fire sale from similar sellers on refurbs which run around $50-60USD.
I got my refurb W100 Black the same way over a year ago and it only cost me $65USD.

Why Is there No Forum for the Samsung A9 ??

I cant find a forum or subforum for the Samsung A9 or A9 Pro. Why is that??
Because xda don't create a forum for every single device that's is on the market.
It depends how popular the device is and how many requests it gets. Also it's fairly new.
There loads of devices out there without their own specific forum.
You need to put your request to admin. However it's unlikely as you're already in the A series forum. Most you could hope for is it added here.
it should in the near future.
The problem is, a lot of A series phone have been specifically made for the standalone markets (chinese, india, etc), and unfortunately the their communities seem to have their own places like xda in their native language, hence why no people are requesting much info around here.
But that should change....the A9 Pro international variant is about to be released, and i am favouring it above S7 Edge and upcoming Note 6/7 products, it's above average performance that can be tweaked by twiddling, and with that huge battery, it may be the first android device hitting 3 days of battery with stock parameters.
seriosuly, shouldn't take long.

Do you know when the A9 Pro international version will come out? I bet it'll cost $700.
If they price it in that eange, then one might as well just get the S7E or N6/N7. Anything above 500 is too much for such a class.

I've just received an offer at 450 EUR, for pro version, in my country (black market ofc), and it just appeared, so the price can only go down..

It's Serbia, and the link won't matter too much to you, as it is in local language...
But, it's Chinese model for sure, as our black market is overwhelmed with models of that origin...

Zblaze Thor VS Colmi I1

I'm a newbie into the world of Android smart watches but in the past week I've watched hours of YouTube videos on these Chinese smart watches. I've come to a couple conclusions. Battery life sucks across the board and none of them can hold a candle to samsung or apple. But with that in mind Istklm want to try one out. And I've narrowed it down to two on AliExpress. One is the Zeblaze Thor
<Can't post a link because I'm new>
And the other is the Colmi I1
Both are 3G android 5.1 watches with 16gb memory. But the Comic has 2gb ram and the Thor only 1gb ram. I've seen more about the Thor but next to nothing about the Colmi.
Any suggestions?
And just to be clear, cam any of these Android Chinese smartwatches send and receive texts? I don't care about calls but I want to be able to send and receive tests from my watch without having to do it from my phone on the middle of a meeting.
Also, some of these watches are approaching the $150 mark which st that point makes no sense because I can get a hold of a Samsung Gear 3 for $200 and not have to worry about any of this.
Thanks in advance.
J
Any help??
Really just need to know if any of these Chinese smartwatches can send and receive texts that come in through your cell phone?
40 some views and not one person can answer. This is the least helpful board I've ever posted in.
Ended up buying a Samsung Gear s2 so I don't have to worry about the cheap Chinese knockoffs.

Car Navi player??

Thinking about possibly trying an aftermarket HU in my 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ. I thought about just doing a double din but it would sit below my factory 7" screen which would be sort of lame.
I started looking into android head units and came across Car Navi Player. They say they are completely plug and play but almost seems to good to be true.
Does anyone have any experience with these?
Yep, I bought s190 from them about a month ago for my smart ForFour
Plug and play
DHL tracked delivery
Any contact is replied back literally within minutes
I ordered, cancelled because I thought I bought the wrong one, refunded with no questions asked , then ordered again and it was as smooth as butter
I paid £24 import and tax duty
---------- Post added at 10:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:20 AM ----------
Oh, and I also showed them a link to the same headunit at alliexpress which was with free postage
They then put thier unit up with free postage too and emailed me about the update
If you search ForFour GPS on Thier site, I gave them pictures of the unit installed in my car, and it is exactly as they advertised

Any issues or bugs that you have noticed?
I've been reading reviews about other brands and it seems some are plauged with issues of flakey sofware.

Nope not for me, but I only use it for sat nav and radio, I've not tried any weird and wonderful XDA apps or whatever
I have installed Smarty trend head unit, and it was really plugged and play in my case. I think all depends on the car.
I bought from them as well. In my case it was for a Hyundai Santa Fe. The transaction was seamless. Fast response, product as described. Totally plug-n-play in my case. If you have the time, shop around because their price is not always the cheaper. I've found the same units on aliexpress for less. I bought from them because I thought they were US-based but they're in China so it's the same as buying from any other supplier. Their customer service is indeed pretty good compared to most chinese sellers.

Same with me, I asked CarNaviPlayer if they could match it along with the free P&P the AliExpress offered, and they did

It is Germany company with production in China, they are saying so at their website, and that is not a secret. The quality is better than the one from Ali. I have such before the Smarty Trend and can definitely say that Smarty worth its money.

The problem with the Smarty Trend models is they mount below my factory touch screen. I was looking for a direct replacement.

What did you mean? I have had a direct replacement, the factory head unit was fully replaced.
I purchased from them in within 24 hours of install the touch screen would no longer work and they aren't providing info on how to return it. I would stay away.

Senbono t20

Probably one of the most nice looking one out there and has bands that can be easily replaced unlike the Amazfit X with it's proprietary bands.
More info about the watch/band here:
https://www.senbono.store/products/...qBLo8ecJDbMRNkVbzTu7-nyhxdcaME60kpXIFGmO6Wzp0
Of course it can be found on other sites for sale and seems to go for around $66 USD which a much cheaper than the Amazfit X
Like the Amazfit X it is from China so not sure what kind of quality you will get.
there is also a in depth review on YouTube by Smartwatchticks that shows it in action. The app that is uses seems to be pretty bad.
If anyone has one or gets one let us know what you think here! I will do the same if I snatch one up! :highfive:
