I'm a newbie into the world of Android smart watches but in the past week I've watched hours of YouTube videos on these Chinese smart watches. I've come to a couple conclusions. Battery life sucks across the board and none of them can hold a candle to samsung or apple. But with that in mind Istklm want to try one out. And I've narrowed it down to two on AliExpress. One is the Zeblaze Thor
<Can't post a link because I'm new>
And the other is the Colmi I1
Both are 3G android 5.1 watches with 16gb memory. But the Comic has 2gb ram and the Thor only 1gb ram. I've seen more about the Thor but next to nothing about the Colmi.
Any suggestions?
And just to be clear, cam any of these Android Chinese smartwatches send and receive texts? I don't care about calls but I want to be able to send and receive tests from my watch without having to do it from my phone on the middle of a meeting.
Also, some of these watches are approaching the $150 mark which st that point makes no sense because I can get a hold of a Samsung Gear 3 for $200 and not have to worry about any of this.
Thanks in advance.
J
Any help??
Really just need to know if any of these Chinese smartwatches can send and receive texts that come in through your cell phone?
40 some views and not one person can answer. This is the least helpful board I've ever posted in.
Ended up buying a Samsung Gear s2 so I don't have to worry about the cheap Chinese knockoffs.

I live in China and was considering getting a smart watch here as they are relatively cheap and have begun to make a wider appearance across major internet retailers recently. So I was wondering if anyone here has experience with any Chinese brands and could give me some tips.
I have been looking at the Otium Gear Smart Watch (which can be found on Amazon) as it seems it do well enough for my basic expectations of such a new sort of device (and it is pretty cheap here). I like the idea of the SIM card slot and the camera, mostly as novelties, Bluetooth is good for listening to music wirelessly and general phone connectivity, and I assume I could put my own apps on here, as the real reason I want this is for some mini game emulation on my subway commute.
So if any of you could offer some advice, product reviews or any other information, I would greatly appreciate your help.
I got one from amazon. I have been used these for couple of months. so far so good.
hi i have just stumbled across this forum, and it looks a very good set out, i am receiving my samsung galaxy note 3 tommorow and i am looking for a really good smartwatch to go with this, but my budget is tight at moment, so looking for good advice please on which 1 to get, it has to have full android on as then i have heard you can put as many apps as you want, so please some good suggestions on which 1 to purchase and where to purchase from would help me out a lot thanks
You say your budget is tight, then brand smart watch should not be considered.
One I know is i95 smart watch, $84 in tinydeal, with 512MB 4GB storage, can download many app to have fun
I have bought one and hope it work well.
moto I think !
thanks guys, u say moto one of you, where is link for the moto one please
The moto 360 is a very good wearable. The first gen model is very cheap nowadays, but the second gen is here too if you're on a bigger budget.
If you want something basic, there's the GT08 for about 40USD, its pretty good for the price, but its very basic.

Brand new from high volume reputable ebay sellers- about $85USD
About once a month or so you find a fire sale from similar sellers on refurbs which run around $50-60USD.
I got my refurb W100 Black the same way over a year ago and it only cost me $65USD.

Hi,
it seems to be my first post on this forum.
The question is obvious: which model will suite my requirements? There's a lot of them and I'm simply lost
First: price lvl: up to $250
Other: 2 DIN, full BT (I'd like to use the screen as additional gauges showing data from my car ECU), DVD/CD, WIFI, GPS, 3/4G. Rootability always well seen.
Where am I supposed to look for it? Does anyone have his/her favourites Android headunits meeting my expectations?
Thanks
You can have a look at this website.

No DVD in this pumpkin. Pity.
I regret going with Pumkin over Joying.
I cannot tell you how many infuriating conversations I've had with their so-called "support". I am actually considering tearing it apart and putting a Raspberry Pi 2 in the unit.
$250 for a DVD unit? Unless you want a dual core, 6.25" screen unit used I think you are going to be very disappointed with what you get.
My Joying quad core, 7", non DVD unit was $300. Their customer support and warranty are excellent.
You can convert your dvds to mp4 and play them on whatever HU you do go with. A better option IMO because you don't have to deal with skipping or pause delays.

Or download the free VLC app and then you can play any format on you HU (mp4, ISO, etc).

Is the support lack of technical knowledge or experience or what?

Well... it was a issue of incompetence more than anything. They tried to rip me off. I ordered 2 microphones and only one was shipped. They claimed I only ordered one. So I showed them a screenshot and proof that I ordered two of them. I felt they should have known this from their end but they didn't. It took me showing them my order for them to believe me. They offered to send me another or refund. I chose refund and it never came. Then... when inquiring about rooting they did not help me and said rooting the unit was forbidden on the head units. I told them they have no control over what I do with my unit. They still did not assist me. Then... I couldn't get the USB dash cam to work and again, they were absolutely zero help. Offering me no assistance in fixing it. Then I decided I wanted to return the stereo and replace it with a different model and I was told that I could do that if i paid the difference which was fine. However they chastized me that I should have checked what kind of unit fit my car before I bought it. Told them it was universal unit so I didn't need to. Never heard back from them after that. At that point I was finished with them. I Craigslisted the stereo and was done.
Like I said.... I should have gone with Joying.
There are a few on Amazon for around $250 but, it seems the better models are closer to $300. Keep in mind that you might end up spending $50 on the accessories you need with some of the models so you need to weigh the price with what it comes with. A lot of people talk about cameras that are included with some not being very good so keep that in mind.
Personally, I've been holding out for a model with a little more ram. I haven't found a single model with more than 1GB of ram. I'd spend $500+ for a model with a modern processor and a decent amount of ram. I've heard ranges of startup times for different models being 30-50 seconds. I imagine there are a lot of factors including people adding lots of unnecessary apps.
I have a Ownice C200 with 16 gb nand flash and 2gb of ram bluetooth v3.0 and i am quite satisfied, it is a bit expensive, but you can buy the cheaper C180 with 8 nand flash and 1gb mem
Hello
I've looked all over the net and can't find answers to these questions. Maybe someone can help?
1) are there any standalone smartwatches that use sim cards? i want to be able to use whatsapp and get sports scores without needing a phone.
some smartwatches seem to have gps but not Internet, Internet but no appstore etc. very confusing.
sony smartwatch 3 was perfect if it had a sim slot.
only found Samsung gear s and lg urbane 2 that have sim slots. Samsung gear s sold out and runs tizen, and lg urbane is ridiculously priced at apple customers level.
2) are there any chinese smartwatches running Android that can do the above? that i don't know of?
3) are there any chinese smartwatchs running Android that can be flashed to run android wear?
4) i saw these articles last year of a $49 realtek chip mt2601 smartwatch running Android 4.4 on it, but can't find it being sold anywhere even a year later?
thanks
Why do only two watches have NFC ?
Little worried if anything happened to my LG Sport, at this point the watch is hard to find for sale online.
The Huawei Watch 2 the other watch I was not crazy about the small screen and I do not know how long Best Buy will carry it.
No NFC = No Android Pay, something I use everyday.
Hopefully in the 2018 trade-shows somebody announces something
Well the wear24 has the hardware, but Verizon did not enable it
There are a few others but two are expensive, Movado Connect and Tag Heuer. The third is the LG Urbane 2nd Edition, my watch for the last couple of years. Still not very many choices. I use Android Pay all the time and if my watch broke I'd have to settle for getting the same model refurbished/used. Not sure why it isn't standard at this point for new watches.
