I just got a great deal on a sd card, and want to try to mover my downloaded apps to the SD, I am running cm11 rom and I'm rooted with twrp recovery. How can I store apps on the sd? I don't have the option in the app manager!
From what I understand, the latest builds of Android (and thus cm11) make internal storage preferred. The Google camera has no SD card option, which seems absurd to me.
I installed xposed framework and a certain module that grants saving of pics to external card. (I too have 64GB)
Also, store any bulk files (music, videos, photos, etc) on external card.
You can only move apps that support moving to sdcard. Things like alarm or widget apps shouldn't be moved tho, even if allows you to (from my understanding, unless things have changed).
I hope this helps a little bit at least.
Hi!
I see that some of the apps are in sd card (application manager -> sd card). But I didn't move thwm there.
1. How Android decides what apps where should be installed?
2. Are there any downsides installing apps to sd card? Except the fact that apps won't be available when sd card is removed.
3. Will progress of my games and settings of my apps will be saved in sd card after apps are reinstalled after factory reset?
Thanks!!

1) by size. Don't know the exact but as an example if an app is bigger than 100mb then it is installed on the external sd.
2) The one you stated plus the fact that the internal memory is quite faster than the external card.
3) I think no. Except for apps that use an account or the internet for saves, you are gonna need an app like titanium backup to restore apps data.
every time an app updates from the play store, it gets stored back onto the phone's internal storage instead of the sd card where it was stored before, is there an app or way to prevent this problem? So I dont have to keep on transferring these updated apps back to my sd card every time they update
Anyway to use SD card as phone storage AND external storage? I am running 6.0.1 and tired of reformating the SD card to use as storage
Rooted? Stock rom? Answer this first because if you are rooted you can use third party apps like apps2sd or foldermount to install apps in sd card.
Well, no lie but it is usually rooted only 10℅ of the time. Yea, I usually uninstall Su because I play Pokémon Go a lot
So I've tried a couple play store options that just moved my apps to virtual sd card which is of course useless. Tried developer options to force SD card to accept apps, that didn't work. Is there a way I can use a 128 SD card as internal storage as I play a lot of games and my 64 gigs is running out quick. Thanks guys
