Hello,
I need to check if phone's bootloader is unlockable or not because I wrote that T-Mobile used to deliver phones with locked BL. Is there any way to enter in service menu or similar and check status? I don't want extend my contract if provider have such limitation!
Cheers

I have an 1.3 rev Samsung Focus. It was an unlocked model I got from outside. I was in the US at the time of Mango update and updated my phone with Mango from AT&T. Now I have moved out of the US and want to unlock it. AT&T doesn't have the unlock code because I didnt purchase it from them. Any Ideas on what I can do? Will a custom ROM help me with Unlock? When I check lock status, it is SIM Lock is Disabled, only Network lock is enabled.
I'm not sure what you meant by "It was an unlocked model" in the context of "out of the US and want to unlock it". Was it unlocked or locked? Anyway:
Read the wiki, (carrier) locks are in NVRAM, no relation to flashing whatsoever, so any custom ROM won't SIM unlock your phone.
Have you tried ebay? Unlock is cheap as $1 and it doesn't hurt to try (unlock via IMEI - I unlocked AT&T and Rogers Focuses). If that fails, I recommend fastgsm, I've unlocked my own AT&T Focus with them, via USB (no affiliation).

It was carrier unlocked, as in I could place any sim in the phone and it would work. After I updated it on my Zune with Mango, it was loaded with AT&T's version and hence locked to AT&T. Now AT&T doesn't have the record of the IMEI in their database and aren't able to provide me with an unlock code. They were able to provide the unlock code for my other windows phone that I purchased from AT&T. Thereby lies my predicament. Let me try the ebay version, if not I hope FastGSM works. Thanks.
I was not able to get the unlock code from ebay. But FastGSM seemed to work wonders. I used their USB unlocking tool and it worked just fine. Thanks for the tip.
How to unlock Xperia Z1 Compact bootloader when bootloader unlock allowed says NO? p.s. phone is NOT locked to carrier, working with all carriers but simlock status on all networks have zeros. What's the reason for damn unlocking status?
1. Did you hear that "NO means NO"?
Wikipedia explains the term.
Yet - you may get BL unlocked if you are ready to pay.
Money can do miracles, nothing new in it.
2. Read forum unless you understand difference between simlock and bootloader statuses. All this was described here 1000+ times.
I went to lg's website to unlock my bootloader and when I entered my device number and IMEI number and I got this message "Your device (LGUS997Z) does not support unlocking the bootloader. Please check your model. Your account will be locked if you enter the wrong information more than 6 times."
It's an lg g6 us997 which I was sure could be unlocked. Does anyone know whats going on? When I check my phone status it says LGUS997, not LGUS997Z.

After doing some digging I found out there's 2 versions of the LGUS997. US Cellular and USA carrier unlocked. US Cellular hasn't had an unlocked bootloader and that's why I get the message.
You own a US Cellular LG US997Z. Unfortunately your phone isn't rootable.
Sorry for bad news.
Hi, I have an ancient D802 that is locked to Three UK. I have decided to resurrect it on EE but when i put the EE SIM in it doesn;t prompt for an unlock code. So, I've been into the hidden menu and it says that the phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked. I've had a look around and can see others asking the same question but no answers. Any way around this or shall I just throw the phone away?
TIA

Hello,
I have an old galaxy S5 I am trying to network unlock so I could get rid of it. I called Sprint to get it unlocked, and after a long time being placed on hold, I was told the phone is not unlockable. However, they provided me the unlock code. I tried putting on a different carrier sim expecting to be prompted to enter the code, but that didn't happen. I only got an invalid sim error.
What can I do?
EDIT: it is possible to unlock, see below.
It is not unlockable with some "unlock code", you have to hack the modem firmware partition and flash it to the phone.
There was an online unlock service for $35 at http : / / idoneapps . com and I've successfully unlocked 2 phones with their service but the website does not work anymore, also they do not reply to email or facebook.
If anyone knows the similar service - please share the link, I'm interested too.
I've managed to unlock the G860P for international SIM cards, check this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/confirmed-sim-unlocked-s5-sport-g860p.3128965/
