[Q] Hide front touch buttons? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys
I have the international version of the LG G2 Build Number: KOT49I.D80220b Software Version: D80220b-SEA-XX. I do not get the option of hiding front touch buttons which others have on their LG G2 why is that? And if this is region dependant then why does LG release first to soem regions first then to others? :silly: Will i be getting an update for hiding the front touch buttons? I already have the knock code update.
Thankyou in advance.

I noticed this too. Haven't found any other way to hide it other that GMD auto hide soft keys from Google play. Its aggravating. I would love it if someone would port that feature.

Anyone come from a nexus 4? I have both now and can't decide.

Just got my g2 this am and its not that I'm disappointed I just don't know if its worth the full retail I paid over my nexus4. I'm moving to India in a few months so lte does not really matter to me.
Anyone come from a n4 to the g2 and have any insight on what you are enjoying more about the n4?
*not a fan of the lg skin but figure its just a matter of time till we have aosp roms.
Picture comparison between the two

I am considering the same thing. Can you post pics of them together? I may wait for the nexus 5 but think i like the buttons on the back and bigger battery. I hope the bootloader is able to be unlocked.
Sure give me a few and I will grab some pictures.
Overall the nexus feels better in the hand to me, love the back glass feel, I don't mind dealing with stock for a couple weeks as long as that bootloader becomes unlockable and we get some aosp action.
Re: the buttons on the back, I don't mind em one bit and actually like em but I don't use volume up/down much on my phone anyway.
My phone is on back order, but I'll be giving my wife my Nexus 4 so I can't comment on that decision, but I'm definitely keeping the G2 for myself. I played with one for a few minutes and I'm sold.

Thanks!! Really loving the bezels. I see you hide your onscreen keys on the Nexus.... Decisions, Decisions. I may wait to see if the new nexus is based off of this.
I've had a nexus 4 one and s4 in the last 6 months and now g2.. loving the g2, screen is better on the g2, way better battery life, snappier processor better camera.. Also aosp Roms will come in time... That said I will undoubtedly get the next nexus as I'm a gadget junkie.

I had them all too, but I find myself back with the nexus. Mainly for the simple things. I love the onscreen buttons and cyanogenmod mms with the quick reply and functions. I would love the battery life and better camera though, .
Wow they really are close in size! The nexus screen looks great with the buttons hidden. Does the G2 not allow 3rd party wallpapers appear behind transparent notification bar and buttons at the bottom?

I hid the on screen buttons on my n4 and now that I'm rooted I hid them on the g2..as for the MMS quick reply functions, try sliding messaging pro.

It hides the soft keys and emulates them at the same time.. I have mine set to display when I swipe up on the bottom edge.

Add the "knock knock sound" to knock on?

Hey guys, do other G2 variants have this? Im on a vzw g2. I think it would be cool to add knock knock sound when turning the screen on.

i have the att lg g2 and also cant find out how to enable the knock sound. i even asked around here a few times and never get a reply on it. i also thought that my device was not working right .i even called lg and the tech couldnt fighure it out either. they even sent me to pick up a brand new phone at the att store because they said mabe the phone is messed up and all three att guys there coulndt figure it out ..but the att manager had the phone and he said that he has herd the sound on his but coulndt show me .. something weird here with this..mabe its just on the over seas version of the lg idk ..cant seem to get a answer on this
Have to dig into the international roms then I guess.
I swear I have seen people in youtube videos, etc tap tap and get that door knock sound.
What there was never any knock sound in att lg g2 I have been using this phone for the past 2 months idk about international versions

Screen randomly shutsoff

I have the Verizon variant on stock the screen will randomly shutoff sometimes they say if you put your hand over the sensor it will do that but it does it even when I'm not touching the phone on cm11 Roms its the opposite i will turn screen on and when I set it down on the table it will turn back on I am so fed up with it doing and if it keeps doing this I will buy a nexus 5 or maybe the new oppo when it comes out

Do you use a screen protector?
No screen protector it seems to do it sometimes but when it does do it it is very bad and almost impossible to use
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
I'm on the VZW variant too and don't have that issue. So I'm almost thinking its hardware. Probably the proximity sensor is messed up. I do think I remember some developer having that same problem and it was a hardware issue. Are you running a custom ROM too?

Try entering the service menu and testing the proximity sensor.
I believe it might be a hardware problem.
I did that it helps it doesn't do it as much but still does occasionally hate to get a new one that I can't root or install custom recovery
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
I would hate for it to not have custom recovery do you know if shellnutt figured out what was going on with freegee it only does it sometimes I don't have much options for a new phone
Samsung yuck maybe an oppo they seem nice if it keeps doing this I have a friend that would love this phone hopefully it will stop it has only done it once today

Knock on / touch to wake features for Note 3 N9005

Hi,
I am just wondering if there is anyway we can get this feature on Note3. I have used LG G2 before Note3 and that feature is so useful and handly.
I feel its possible to have the tocuh to wake feature on Note3 as it got the hardware.
Can you suggest a solution?

Question regarding annoying bell

Hello everyone. I am going to buy an axon 7 someday soon. And I have a question regarding the bell I read bothers some.
Does installing nova launcher allow for a better experience?
Sent from my Pixel using XDA-Developers mobile app
The thing with the bell is that you have to press the bell to see the notifications. Your notifications won't be there when you turn the screen on but will have to press the bell. That's all, it's not the end of the world. ..just one extra step to see your notification is all.

To be honest, I never see my lockscreen. I always use the fingerprint sensor.
The Bell will be optional in the next update,
