Add the "knock knock sound" to knock on? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, do other G2 variants have this? Im on a vzw g2. I think it would be cool to add knock knock sound when turning the screen on.

i have the att lg g2 and also cant find out how to enable the knock sound. i even asked around here a few times and never get a reply on it. i also thought that my device was not working right .i even called lg and the tech couldnt fighure it out either. they even sent me to pick up a brand new phone at the att store because they said mabe the phone is messed up and all three att guys there coulndt figure it out ..but the att manager had the phone and he said that he has herd the sound on his but coulndt show me .. something weird here with this..mabe its just on the over seas version of the lg idk ..cant seem to get a answer on this

Have to dig into the international roms then I guess.
I swear I have seen people in youtube videos, etc tap tap and get that door knock sound.

What there was never any knock sound in att lg g2 I have been using this phone for the past 2 months idk about international versions

Agreed
+1 for this

Maybe you could add an unlock sound that says "who's there?"

~Screen lock sounds~

Hey does anyone have any issues with the screen lock sounds?? Cuz when I turn it on its supposed to click when I lock and unlock my my screen.. and it doesn't.. can any of you try it out and let me know.. settings-sounds-screen lock sounds..
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
The screen lock sounds don't work for me either. I believe this is a bug affecting all G2s
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
i believe there are no sounds loaded onto the g2 for lock and unlock
I have the same issue............no sound. Great phone but a lot of bugs, hopefully an update really soon

No sound
I have no lock/unlock sound either. Thought it was just mine but now I see that, that is not the case. Hopefully update rolls around soon and fix these bugs that we are all finding. Gotta say I love this phone though.
If you look at /system/media/audio/ui the lock sound files are missing. Hopefully the OTA planned drops them lol

I believe you can create a folder at the root of your sd card called media/audio/ui and place the sounds inside there. Same goes for ringtones and notification sounds.

Alright I thought that was just me.. but I'm gonna try the sd card thing and see if that works.. actually that means we can add any tone for the unlock..
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Don't want to sound like an ass but WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?
Granted, my device may be different but my sounds have worked since minute one. I did have to enable them first though.
I disabled audible touch tone and enabled screen lock and screen selection sounds and no problems...

It's a know bug by now, nobody has unlock sounds. How about haptic feedback when pressing on touch keys and long press on the screen? Seems to not work for me. Vibrates for everything else that it suppose to so not a hardware problem.
That works for me. I only have the vibrating lock screen issue
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Yeah everything works for me but the screen lock..
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Nevermind, it does work for me as well, just really soft... almost unnoticable, which is weird since vibrator is so strong in g2....

[Q] 2 screen?

My question is:
Is there a way to have two things running on the screen at the same time like the s note2. granted i know the screen is not the same size but i do think it is big enough to have the function. and if so how ca it be done????
Sorry that is multiview and that is a Samsung feature. I believe we will never see that on the N4. Dev's are trying to get it to work on S3 and still have not got it.

There a some multiview apps available in Google Play i think. Don`t know if they run on non-samsung devices. Don`t use them myself so i can`t name one.

Not to get off subject, but your signature reminds me of the thing that I miss the most about my s3. Wicked ROM.

I noticed that the lg optimus g has it in the notification bar where you switch by selecting it and fading it out to see the other screen. I've been looking to see if there is something out there that could be flashed.

Does your G2 rattle when you shake it?

Only noticed this today. The rattle noise seem to come from the upper side of the device, maybe the camera or the sim card area.
I've searched a bit on the net, and saw that the nexus 4 and original Optimus G also suffer from this problem...
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes it does. They all do. I believe it's a sensor inside the camera. It's supposed to move.

ok so then its not cause i have the vs980 honestly no phone should have loose parts id take it back if you can and see if you have the same problem?
Its the optical image stabilization that is shaking i can confirm it all devices that have this shake!
Mine does. It is very soft and faint. Its the OIS. In all variants.
Yup. Normal. Every camera phone I've every owned does this. I have the VS980 Verizon. It's the camera sensor. It's normal.

I have the Sprint version and it does not rattle no matter what plane I shake it in and no matter how hard or soft I shake it. If it is normal to rattle than I guess I have the broken one. However, I am NOT taking it back for one that does rattle.
My gnex rattle really bad. Lg g2 not. Yes it s camera but I think is rather focus particle than ois
alright yea i can confirm it... it makes a very feint sound i couldnt really hear at first due to backround noise haha sorry if i caused confusion

"Ok Google" Anywhere breaks video recording.

Just in case you weren't already aware. The "OK Google" hot word detection apparently breaks the ability to record video. It makes the camera app think your on a call. Kinda crazy. I hope it's something on the Google end and they fix it. I was using it for the last day and LOVED it!

Are you sure Google should fix this? Seems to me more like lg job (or our mod devs). The Google camera video recording works. Anyway thanks for the info!

That's odd. If you Google it there are other people complaining about it as well. Also I am using Xdabbebs modded camera app.

Probably your modded camera app......but i am on CloudyG3 1.1 stock camera app which is modded too.

Maybe other people will try it and report. It is very frustrating. I want Google now everywhere. Maybe I will download a 3rd party camera and see if it has the same issue.

Downloaded Google Camera from the Play Store and it works. So, guess it's a mod problem.
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Free mobile app
I've found the issue is with on screen phone. Turn off on screen phone and OK Google hot word detection works but no video recording with stock camera app (the Google camera app will record). Turn on screen phone on and video recording works fine but OK Google hot word stops working. Very strange.

Semi on topic, but this also breaks the alarm when the phone is plugged in. The phone thinks that you are on a phone call, so it doesn't let the alarm fire with sound.

It's not strange really. Always listening makes the phone think you're in a phone call. Alarms don't go off when you're talking on the phone. This is an oversight in design.

Does the nexus have the same issue? LG phone and all. I'm guessing it's an LG issue but who knows. At least it's easy to switch between modes by turning on screen phone on or off.
