It
had Hard SPL installed so I didn't though it would be killed, but after reset, it would
only be recognized as some data communication device without drivers that searching the
forums I found the drivers for Qualcomm modem 6000 and other two devices would fit, now I
can only communicate to it through COM7, but the commands are very restrictive (no cego,
no mw) and I could not devise a solution to flash it again.
I tried PM several people here but got no answers (of course they have they own business),
so I'm posting as a thread in the hope that some ideas may arise.
I also looked towards JTAG but there is no info about the pinouts (not even commercial
solutions) and looking the board you won't have a clue.
I hope that correctly using "radata" I can go somewhere, please tell me if I'm wrong and
I'll just drop it and sell the Shift for parts, I never actually used it.
just to collect more information- is your Shifts' PC side running?
Did you try to flash a stock rom to SnapVue?

Hi there,
I'm writing you because while toying around with MTTY I've probably formatted my beloved NIKI (20 Keys).
Is there a way to restore it somehow, even in the original state with original ROM?
Has it become a piece of junk?
Many thanks for all your kind responses.
I add some more informations because re-reading this post I think I've been not so clear.
It happened that givin' "task" commands with MTTY the device stopped working and it doesn't accept no more even the power button.
When I try to connect to the computer, It appears a driver request for a "data interface".
I used Qualcomm drivers (the ones in the frankenkaiser application) but I got stuck.
Can this be helpful?
I have run into another issue. I can not mount my phone to computer. I think this is happening because of me rooting my phone. I was able to root the phone successfully. But somewhere along the way something happened and I can't mount my phone to my pc. This is as if my pc is not reading/recognizing the phone when plugged in. However, my phone is reading its memory and sd card perfectly.
When I plug the phone to my pc:
With USB Debugging off... I dont even get a notification in the slide down menu asking me to either mount/unmount.
With USB Debugging on... I do get the option in slidedown menu to mount my phone. At the same time the computer shows a pop up message asking me to install driver software for Samsung_Android. In the meantime , I press mount sd card which by the way is still not recognized by the computer.
I dont have the driver for samsung_android to install on the computer.
This thread here describes how I rooted my phone. I thought this background info might be helpful in solving the problem.
Does anyone know a potential fix for this situation.
Thanks.
When this happened to me having it" ask what to do" when connected may have solved the issue. I went through this just yesterday. You also might re-boot your phone and computer a few times...nothing like that can hurt. Until someone who actually knows something finds this thread : P

**bump... someone gotta know the solution
Reading your post is a little confusing. If you are saying you cannot "mount" the phone the term Mount is replaced with "connect usb storage" in the pull down. If yours is saying mount, then your rooting process may have not worked. It is hard to tell based on how you wrote this up. Use the one-click rooting you can find all you need INCLUDING the Samsung computer drivers (32 or 64bit) @ unlockr.com along with a nice youtube video showing the whole process beginning to end.
Additional thoughts:
If you are really jacked you can always go to the bible (in the top of this general forum) and search for the "ALL in One" zip to flash back to stock...etc. The All in One has the stock kernel, the .pit (used for mapping) the 32 bit driver/64 bit driver for the computer and Odin all in one Zip. You should have this in your computer folder named (unbrick tools) either way you should get all this if you are going to be customizing the phone, along with the Eugene's froyo that does not brick rom. This rom is a lifesaver should you flash in a way where the format will not recognize the stock format. You can flash this 1st then stock right after and that ALWAYS gets you back to stock.
In the future, when you are trying to describe what is going on try to be careful with terminology it is important not to use terms loosely otherwise we are just guessing on how to help......... hope this helps
Thanks for your thoughts. It seemed as if my computer was lacking the drivers for samsung vibrant so I installed them from here
and now I can connect my phone to the pc and its working fine. I thought I had downloaded and installed the drivers before when I downloaded on the big download button on the top and installed some fake software from advertisement.
If you ever flash a 2.2 rom and experience the problem again with the drivers already installed, this might fix it...

I have been all over the internet, and I honestly can not find a solution to this problem anywhere. Like, literally, anywhere.
MY hd2 (And other people's) will not connect tot he computer via usb.
Zune software will just not acknowledge that my hd2 is plugged in.
I've tried everything, and my sd card is compatible.
Does anybody have an idea on how to get this fixed?

Try this
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
go there and download a great wee program called USBDeview, run it as admin!
and basically delete anything that could be related to the phone
what that program does is gives you a list of all installed or previous installed USB devices, sometimes USB devices can "hangup" if the wrong driver or an conflict developes, ive used this before to fix a similar situation and it works great.
The reason i think this may be the problem is i had a similar problem in that my phone would only conect to zune when i use a particular USB port, i used a different one on the same HUB and all was well, so i cleared down all the crap using that program and all is now ok!
it will mean having to install any device you delete so i would suggest you disconnect all USB devices first then pull the drivers off for anything related to phones then reconnect anything you need one at a time.
ifd in doubt drop a list of all the devices on that program and ill go through them with you
Thanks so much. I just swiched back to android and i will install wp7 and try this again.
Do you have windows mobile device center 6.1 installed with active sync working?
Have you considered trying a different usb cable? It might be possible the cable is bad. Also maybe try connecting it to another computer to see if it recognizes it.
would be great for an update if you have had any luck on not, other folk are asking teh same question
Sorry i havent gotten back to you guys...
I tried the first post, did not work.
The cable is fine, I use it in android and to charge.
Other computer is not an option for me...
OTher usb ports were a no-go
I tried different roms and everything.
I'm beginning to just want to give up
*Edit: No, active sync isnt installed should i try it?
See if you have libusb installed and if so uninstall it and see what happens. I read somewhere on the net a few days ago that it solved peoples problems that couldn't connect to zune.

no active sync will just confuse things,
you didnt mess about with some of the HTC tools did you?
So you've uninstalled all the devices that teh USBDeview program showed you yeah? i had quite a few phone related devices, just get rid of them all, they will install again when you need them, have you tried using a different USB port, swap it with something else to be sure, try USBDeview again but this time also remove all of zune and everthing else youve installed for WP7, lets go back to the begining and se if there is something thats got messed up
Tanks. Will give it a try
Please someone has to be able to help me! My phone as of three days ago, HTC One X, had drivers working completely fine. As of a couple of days ago my computer has just stopped seeing my phone! Whenever I try to install the drivers, I get an error that says "Windows tried installing the driver but failed. The request is not supported." I've searched everywhere and have not been able to find a solution. I was just trying to copy files between my computer and phone but I couldn't do it. I'm sorry if this is the wrong area, but it is a Windows 8 machine with this issue. The thing that baffles me is the same exact drivers work on my Windows 8 laptop. I have a screenshot attached of the error, as well.
Please note that XDA-Devs is not a tech support forum. Unless you were doing some kind of hacking on your PC (or phone) that you would expect us to understand but not a more traditional environment, this is not a good place to ask such questions.
With that said, the first thing I'd try is completely purging the phone's drivers from the PC (uninstall them, and remove the files), preferably while the phone is disconnected. You can do this in Device Manager. Then, reboot the PC. After reboot, re-connect the phone and see if you can get the drivers to work now.

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have the following error at boot and the tablet stops at this error: Boot Verified Failed...
Short story is that I have spent the last two weeks trying to correct this error. No matter what I do I can not get past the first step in anything recommended on this site which is to connect to a PC. For some reason I can not get the tablet to connect at all, more specifically I can not get the PC to acknowledge it is connected. I am using the micro usb slot on the tablet. I have tried all the acer drivers, 4 operating systems including ubuntu, win xp, win 7 and win 8 and all of this on two different computers to be sure that it wasn't the PC being the problem.
Could someone help me how to figure out what I am doing wrong or what I am not doing right? Or does this tablet error mean that the tablet will never talk to a PC. I have tried APX mode as well as various combinations as per recommendations on this forum with the rocker, power and reset.
Hopefully someone can help me.
Thanks a billion in advance.
So it doesn't look like anyone can help me with this problem but perhaps someone can help me with getting a schematic of the inside of the tablet so I can perhaps fix the micro usb port myself unless someone knows another reason why I can't get it to work. I really need some help, hopefully someone can help me.

Strange problem and one I've not heard of before.
First try a different usb cable, they are not created equal these things!
Ensure usb debug. is enabled in Settings.
Connect yr tab to yr pc. Open device manager and check the android usb device driver is installed. If it has you should be good to go.
If it doesn't. ..head to the cpuid guide in my sig. There's a whole section near the end which deals with driver issues and how to set up and test adb etc.
I do have a schematic somewhere, got it
off here so try a search.
Oh, one other thing. ..u didn't mention adb drivers. U can download them from the cpuid guide.
Good luck
