Can the note 3 with software n900vvrucnc4 be rooted?
If no, any way to go back to 4.3?
Thanks

You're stuck for now, hopefully someone find a root method for it. I'm staying on NC2 until then, root is too important to me.
No root method for NC4 and no way to downgrade either
Only way to go back to MJE is if you are on NC2 leak

I rooted my AT&T Galaxy S4 i337 a while back using Motochopper and it worked absolutely fine. After installing Cyanogenmod, I decided to go back to stock. I used triangle away and Odin to return myself back to stock, however, I always had issues. When I would recovery boot, I got an error and I couldn't wipe my cache partition. I tried to re-root my phone today using Motochopper and then Odin, but neither of them worked. I got a fail on both of them. Motochopper installed Supersu on my device, but didn't actually give me root access, and Odin just gave me a fail. Now, my phone is working with stock, but I still get errors in recovery mode and I can't root. Can someone please help!?

That's what i was afraid of. With mf3 you can't root with motorchopper or flash roms like you could on mdl. You also can't put on a custom recovery. Give me a second and I'll give you some links.

MF3 has a completely different root and recovery method now. Search the threads and you'll find them. Unfortunately it's pretty risky as you won't be able to flash back to stock using ODIN on MF3.

Ok, so I read the links. Now, I'm not so much interested in rooting as I am getting my phone straight. Is there any way to get back to mdl? Will the rumored 4.3 update this month fix that? When I tried to update or recover with Samsung Kies, it said my phone wasn't compatible to recover. Does that mean I won't be able to get the update?

First, there is no way to go back to mdl. Idk if you'll be able to get the 4.3 update but I would assume so since you are on the stick firmware now. But, each new update is going to make it harder to root your phone or run custom roms. So you probably need to choose whether you want to keep your phone stock and take updates if and when they come out. Or have some snooty to run custom roms and root your device and put safestrap on.

I might not be in right spot , and may not search hard enough please dont fuss to bad if I missed it , but is there an easy way to go back to jellybean ..................kinda crazy i know, but ..can anyone help
What is the kitkat build you are on- go to settings>about phone>build number
If you took the OTA you would be on NC4, in this case there is no way to go back to 4.3, the bootloader is incremented to prevent downgrade.
If you flashed the NC2 leak then you can just odin back to MJE use this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483380
I didn't take the leak I followed beans thread to get the nc2

As long as its not NC4 taken from OTA you can downgrade with odin
Thanks

If you didn't take the OTA and you are on NC2 leak, then you can go back. You will lose root, but you can just re-root easily from that point using Kingo or V-Root.
Phone is on MJE, and I'd rather not root with kingo. EDIT: towelroot did the job on MJE 4.3 stock rom.
Now that I'm rooted and still on MJE, does anyone regret going to NC2 or NC4? Anyone miss MJE?
I think truthfully , most that are staying on Mje were for reception problems that probably needed hardware replacement. I am waiting for my replacement to come it will have NC4 . Now, that towel root and the ability to still flash back to NC 2 kernel it's not so important to keep MJE.

But if you do have reception issues you do have the option for the MJE modem if that's the modem for you.

I'm looking to root a Verizon S5 running 4.4.4 (G900VVRU1ANK2). I updated to 5.0 and didn't want it so I flashed back, but towelroot doesn't work for this version either. Is there a way to step it back to 4.4.2 and it work? Thanks!

Download this, flash via Odin, then root again. You will be on NGC, 4.4.2

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get it rooted by using this thread

I was wondering how to go about downgrading my N900v - I downloaded the Stock Kitkat Firmware and tried to flash with odin, keep getting a SW REV CHECK FAIL - [aboot] Fused 4 > Binary 1 error. Not sure what this means or what I am doing wrong. I want to go back to root, install a custom recovery, and then put a rooted Lollipop rom on. PLEASE HELP! I used the search function and no answer is clear cut. Now, I used Odin and all I am getting upon boot is: Your device didn't update successfully, use the verzon software repar assistant. Sorry for posting twice, posted in generic Note 3 thread and didn't know how to delete. Thanks in advance!

If you have android 5.0 on the phone you are stuck, you can't downgrade. Try flash 5.0 with Odin again maybe you'll be lucky and phone will start working again.

This. Are you trying to flash NJ6? They're both 4.4.4 builds but NJ6 is blocked. Flash NK1. That will get you back to 4.4.4.

So if you are on 5.1.1, you can downgrade, but rooting is a lost cause at that point?

If this is true, then can we downgrade to 4.4.4; root and then go back up to 5.x?

You can downgrade to 4.4.4, but 4.4.4 can NOT be rooted. So no...you have no way to get root for 4.4.4 or higher.

This is more locked down than an iPhone 6s Plus! (just jailbroke my wife's). I can't believe that no one has figured out how to root this phone in 5.0. I'd really like to start taking advantage of some of the great features on a rooted Note 3, and I don't care if it trips the Knox. I don't care about the warranty. Does anyone have any ideas about rooting this stock device that is on 5.0?

Of course tons of really smart people have tried rooting 4.4.4 and above. With or without tripping Knox. No one has been able to break the locked bootloader by any method. For all intents and purposes...it can't be done.

where is root for 4.4.4?
