I'm running the lastest CM and using apps2sd.
I pulled the card out while it was on just to see what would happen. Phone turned off on its own.
Put the card back in and rebooted. Now all my apps show up but they all force close.
I reinstalled each app and now its back to normal but was there a easier way to do this. Or am i NOT suppose to remove the SD card period/
You can remove the SD card, but the phone has to be off, recovery, or fastboot. I think fix_permissions, or fix_permission I don't remember the command, might have fixed the problem.
This is the 2nd time this week this has happened. Turned my phone on this morning, shows preparing sd card but yet none of the apps I have moved to the sd card will work. They don't show on the app drawer either. The first time it happened I figured it was a fluke so I copied everything from the sd card I was using to another card, and same thing...apps don't show.
So then I reformat the card, reflash the stock image and everything was fine until today. Wtf could be causing this? I am able to access the card thru root explorer no problem. Running rooted stock rom

Just a quick question but have you used up the internal memory in order to move them to the SD card? Apps run slower from the SD card then they do from the phone. I have tons of apps but coming nowhere remotely close to have to move them to the SD card.

Hi
I'm using Go launcher EX. I bought a 16GB micro sdhc card for my huawei titan u8800. When i put it in suddenly over half of my apps disapeared from the app list and in my homescreens they only showed the green loading icon. When i try to click on them on the home screen it says that the application is not installed. I think it was the apps that i had moved to the internal storage that disapeared. In the memory info it still says that the internal memory card is almost used up so it doesnt seem to have been deleted. After i took out the card and rebooted they came back after about 10 minutes. Is it any way to get the apps back while i have the sd card in?
which rom are you using? Stock 2.2.2, cm7, miui?
I am using android 2.2.1 that came with the phone.
So, you din't have an external sd card and used the internal sd to install some apps there?
When put the external sd card, the system start to use this card instead of the internal, and the apps which are installed on internal sd card are no longer be installed.
Therefore, you need to copy them from internal sd to external sd.
You need to copy the folders .android_secure and Android(if exists), and also Data(if exists too) from HWUserData folder to external sd' s root directory.
I think this will solve your problem. If this works, you can after delete these folders from internal sd.
It worked! Thank you very much! Glad i didnt have to reinstall all my applications again....
I've got a sim-free, unrooted Note 3 that I bought from Amazon.
When I move too many apps to the SD card and start the phone with the SD card in, the phone never finishes booting (it hangs at the blue pulsing SAMSUNG text).
When I take the card out (or put another one in), the phone boots fine. (Put the original one in again, phone refuses to boot.) I also put a second SD card in after moving a load of apps to SD, I restarted the phone and it got caught in a boot loop.
Apparently the problem is closely related to the .android_secure folder being bigger than a 1GB, so I'm testing this with a formatted SD card. I've moved a few apps to the SD card. For sh1ts and giggles I'm going to copy 1.5GB of data to the .android_secure folder and see if the phone reboots OK.
This clearly has been a huge issue previously, (http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=25563 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446961) but it seems that the complaints about it dried up over the last year or so.
Is it still a known problem? Thanks, Richard
With 32g why would any one need to move apps to sd?

Try removing your SD card when booting. Then go to WIFI settings and turn of the option to automatically scan for wireless networks when wifi is of.
Hello, I am using a Samsung Evo Plus 128GB card in my 32GB Xiaomi Mi A1 formatted as internal storage.
Today I wanted to do a benchmark because lately the phone is pretty slow and laggy, in particular the apps that I installed in the SD storage, so I unmonted the SD card from settings, but when I restarted the phone all my applications that were installed in the SD completely disappeared. Usually when the SD card was unmounted or not inserted these apps were displayed greyed out and after mounting the card they returned normal, but this time all apps are gone.
I tried unmounting the SD and rebooting again the phone but with no results. I noticed that now the phone doesn't show the notification with progress bar when mounting the SD but it mounts instantly. In storage settings I see used space for apps in the SD but if i tap that it says no apps installed.
The biggest problem is that if I try to install again some of the apps that were installed in the SD I can't because phone's behavior is:
-from play store: the app looks uninstalled, but pressing install results in a loop where play store continuosly download the app again and again.
-from apk files: packet manager tells that the app is already installed, and if I click update prints "app not installed" then crashes.
Can I do something to make these apps visible to the system again without wiping everything?
