[Q] Fading LEDs Pulse - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had the old ausdim kernel installed at one point on my i9505. One of my favourite features was the slow fade led pulse. Currently I'm using Slimkat ROM which uses the ktoonsez kernel. Ausdim has not developed his kernel past Jellybean and I was wondering if there was a way to get this fading led notification again?
I've tried searching but couldn't find anything. I'm looking for any sort of solution including a new kernel, some minor tweak or even just an app.

[Q] Notifications lights blink settings in CM10?

Notifications lights is always ON, cannot be set to blink or flash, probably because I9000 does not have dual color LEDs. Can somebody modify CM10 for this ?
For blinking leds you have to change kernel. The only one I know that supports blinking is devil.
Install it and its own manager from play store and that's all.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
i have always wondered why doesn't this work in CM10.
Anyway you could use semaphore kernel and download the BLN app. this has always worked for me

[Q] Looking for kernel tweaker with LED control?

Hi all,
I recently switched from PAC rom to PA due to stability issues. I'm enjoying the stability of PA, but one thing I really miss is the LED control that is built into AOKP. So my question(s) are these:
Is there a kernel modder/tweaker out there that will give me per-app LED mods like AOKP, or
Is there a ROM out there that kanged PA and AOKP (trying to avoid the mess with CM10.2 overlay issues) - I looked in the Android development threads (not original) and couldn't find one.
As of now, Trickster Mod only allows LED control for just a handful of colors, and it's extremely limited.
Have you tried Light Flow, from the Market ?

[Q] Notification LED with screen on?

Running stock LG ROM, rooted with xposed on vs980.
I'm wondering if it's possible to make the notification LED work with the screen on as well as off.
Is there an xposed module that might do it, or could be added to G2xposed or G2TweaksBox?
Or a config file somewhere I can add/edit a line to accomplish this?
I loved that feature of AOKP on my GNex. Haven't taken the leap to flashing a new ROM on my G2 yet, but I would love the feature now.
Especially when playing a full-screen game, but even more needed once I upgrade to a KitKat ROM and use multiple apps in immersive mode with no statusbar/notifications visible.

[Q] Is there a way to manipulate the white ballance of the Note 3's display?

I bought a new Note 3 a week ago, it`s the black version, made in Vietnam, selling in Europe.
I`ve compared it to 3 other Note 3 devices and the colors on mine are way off.
The display is evenly lit, but it has a somewhat greenish/blueish, sometimes yellowish tint on the whites and the resulting picture is unbearable for me.
Any possible way to gain more control over the display`s calibration, so I can try to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
That depends on the rom and kernel you are using.
On Samsung Stock you may try Settings -> Device -> Display -> Screen Mode and test the options.
On the DU AOSP rom you may change color temperature in Settings -> Device Specific -> Screen -> Color Temperature.
Some Rom / Kernels will allow you to fine tune the basic colors.
Unfortunately, the stock rom doesn't provide control over white ballance.
Changing the color temp doesn't seem to fix the problem either - i tried it with the app "Lux".
I guess fine tunning a particular color is the way to go, but so far i do not know how to do it.
Could you please name a suitable ROM/Kernel, that could offer this option?
Thanks

You can tweak the basic colors on Samung phones changing MDNIE parms.
Use Faux123 Kernel Enhancement Pro
Fauxclock will only show the MDNIE Controls menu when rom/kernel supports it. Try it on your rom first.
It works on [Rom][4.4.4][Team D.I.R.T] Dirty Unicorns. Should work on most AOSP roms.
Finally, i decided to Root my device and paid for Faux123 Kernel Enhancement Pro .
Unfortunately, there are no MDNIE/Gamma /Color controls present in the menu.
Could it be the ROM/Kernel?
Mine are:
Kernel - 3.4.0 - 1937874
ROM (stock) - JSS 15.JN9005XXUDMJ6
I don`t want to install custom ROMs, because i wnat to keep the Knox counter at 0x0 and keep my warranty.
Please, help.
Thanks!
You can't calibrate the colours with stock kernel/Faux Clock unfortunately. Custom kernel or tripped Knox

So I won't be able to try to fix the issue without breaking warranty.. Unfortunately this doesn't work for me.
Next step - samsung service, although i think they will laugh at me about this kind of issue.
Thanks all for the support!
Ok, there`s no way I will get a replacement from my carrier, in my country they`ll do everything possible to reject warranty service.
Could you please suggest a custom kernel that supports MDNIE control?
Thanks.

Notification LED

Hello,
I'm new here and I actually just joined like a minute ago just to ask this .
I am using a stock 5.0.1 i9505 but it is rooted. Is it possible to get back the LEDs that light/blink when the screen is off? I actually came from a custom rom that is 5.0.2 and has it. Is it possible to grab it from there?
Or is there some kind of mod to get it without using a third party app like flow or something? Just the LEDs like it was on Kitkat.
Thanks!
There are LED control apps on the Play Store that should do what you want. Try them out.
hmm so it is not possible to extract it from some custom rom or even kitkat roms? how about the pulse notification light in the settings in lollipop roms specifically albe's s6 rom as that was where I came from, is it possible to get it?
btw I actually tried light flow before
Thanks!
Extra question: How can I get the settings app of s6 into an i9505? I tried getting the secsettings and secsettingsprovider in priv-app but did not work.
I'd install Cyanogenmod. It has the LED controls.
In answer to your extra question, I don't believe that's possible. The person to ask would be someone who has ported an S6 ROM to the S4...hint, hint.

I don't see why Samsung would disable the LED notification lights.
Using an app would be a lot simpler than using a mod. Mod can cause various problems.

I don't know if it is a bug from the rom or not because albe95's s6 port has it working and it actually is the pulse instead of the blink from KK.
Now I just saw what is my problem. Cannot activate interruptions while the phone is in mute mode so LEDs does not light up when I receive a message. This only happened after I got Lollipop. Is there any way to fix this? In vibrate and sound modes the LEDs work just fine. I actually made a temporary work around by going into vibrate then sliding all the vibration intensities to zero. Problem is when I want to put my phone in my pocket I have to go to settings and slide them up again. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks!
