Hello,
I'm new here and I actually just joined like a minute ago just to ask this .
I am using a stock 5.0.1 i9505 but it is rooted. Is it possible to get back the LEDs that light/blink when the screen is off? I actually came from a custom rom that is 5.0.2 and has it. Is it possible to grab it from there?
Or is there some kind of mod to get it without using a third party app like flow or something? Just the LEDs like it was on Kitkat.
Thanks!
There are LED control apps on the Play Store that should do what you want. Try them out.
hmm so it is not possible to extract it from some custom rom or even kitkat roms? how about the pulse notification light in the settings in lollipop roms specifically albe's s6 rom as that was where I came from, is it possible to get it?
btw I actually tried light flow before
Thanks!
Extra question: How can I get the settings app of s6 into an i9505? I tried getting the secsettings and secsettingsprovider in priv-app but did not work.
I'd install Cyanogenmod. It has the LED controls.
In answer to your extra question, I don't believe that's possible. The person to ask would be someone who has ported an S6 ROM to the S4...hint, hint.

I don't see why Samsung would disable the LED notification lights.
Using an app would be a lot simpler than using a mod. Mod can cause various problems.

I don't know if it is a bug from the rom or not because albe95's s6 port has it working and it actually is the pulse instead of the blink from KK.
Now I just saw what is my problem. Cannot activate interruptions while the phone is in mute mode so LEDs does not light up when I receive a message. This only happened after I got Lollipop. Is there any way to fix this? In vibrate and sound modes the LEDs work just fine. I actually made a temporary work around by going into vibrate then sliding all the vibration intensities to zero. Problem is when I want to put my phone in my pocket I have to go to settings and slide them up again. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm using this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146879
It's epic how this phone works, i had a desire z so I'm really impressed by this!
The problem is that i don't wanna use the system settings to control the LED light.
Light Flow works fine but whenever i touch the status bar, the LED turns off and stays off for a while, before coming back on again.
Light Manager has the same issue.
Any fix for this? Am i missing something big here?

^this bar means im on phone
Light man a very has been known to cause tons of different issues. Mainly in PA roms. Even to a point of breaking the install manager so you can install apps. I would remove it.

so is there any workaround/fix for the notification LED control? i must use an app because the settings method isn't customizable.

Not that I am aware of. I am not sure of what options are in PA as I have no need for the option in the rom but I know AOKP has a bunch of LED options.

Dear All,
I've been using android for a long time, also wrote few apps, nothing huge tho.
I recently swapped my beloved SGSII for Nexus 4 ... and one thing drives me nuts!
Its phone behaviour after incoming call ends. Why the hell Im being kicked back into phone activity, while it was not the place I've been before the call? Its irrational... And drives me crazy
Im doing something on my phone (lets say - gaming), and someone calls. I answer, we chat for a while. Call ends. Where am I redirected to?
THE DAMN PHONE DIALER! dafuq?....
Hah, but there is more (definitely some more of this, I'll go mad, and they will lock me up ,) ) - imagine what happens when you ride your bike, listen to music and then answer a call .)
Yes, you guessed right! Im being redirected back to phone activity WITH SCREEN UNLOCKED, even if it was locked and turned off before the call.
Thats what actually pushed me to write this topic - I called my coworker by mistake because of this today.
And here comes the big question:
Does anyone knows a ROM or modified phone.apk which would have this fixed/changed/worked around? I just want to get back to where I was before after a call ends....
Yep. AOKP ROM dialer has an option for that.

I'm on edge network right now so I can't up the apk... You can probably help yourself

Does every AOKP based rom has it? It looks like this might be just kind of ROM I'm looking for .)
Few more questions then:
1. Does it have option to show battery % in notification bar?
2. Option to show toggles (Wifi, bt, data,...) in notification bar? (like in cyanogen)

Yeah everything based on AOKP should have it.
1. Yes. In 3 different styles
2. Yes but the implementation differs a bit from cm. The 'tile' type of toggles become hidden once you've enabled the 'power toggles' in notification bar.
Try the latest milestone. It's epic.

I hate this "feature" too! Any ideas how to correct it on the stock 4.3 ROM? I'm rooted with custom recovery and franco kernel. Don't wanna flash a whole new rom just to fix this one issue though.
Maybe flashing the AOKP or CM10 dialer apk would dod the trick?
I just purchased a Note 3 (htlecan), and installed Cyanogen 11 (4.4.2) rom from Temasek. I also installed Nova Launcher.
I've been searching for a way to remove the notifications that appear on the lock screen on the right side, but can't seem to figure out how. I've tried disabling lock screen widgets, and it still appears. I don't have any third party lock screen apps installed, and I know it's not Nova doing it.
I'm also rooted, so more extreme methods are doable.
I'm pretty sure it's either a CM11 thing, or a Kitkat thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, here's a screenshot.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell us what app is doing it.. is it Kitkat or Cyanogen? What ROM and Android version are you running?
It must be an extra feature in Temasek's rom. I'm using the standard/official CM11 and those lockscreen notifications are not there.
Try asking Temasek directly. There's a specific thread about it in the development section.

Well I found it, and it was already disabled. Wierd..
I had to turn it on, wait for a notification, clear the notification, then turn the feature off.
Settings -> Temasek spare parts -> Screen and animations -> Lockscreen notifications
Hi, Is there anyway to make capacitive buttons backlight as a notification light?
Must need this feature on it.

Like led notification ?
indeed this would be handy ... should be possible with custom kernel as not a new concept.
Anyone any luck with this?
Yeah i'm looking for this too, like the function with cm roms.
Looked on xposedmod ditectory, tried 'xled, gravity box, wanam(xposed modules)' ... can't get it to work
The strange thing is this function already exists... when we get a notification the screen comes on and the 'back lights' come on. So, the problem is that it's not adjustable.
Can get the correct function using gravity box but the led stays flashing and won't stop until reboot.
Only two custom kernels available, tried both, no luck...
But there is new hope, with the development of custom roms.

Hi,
Firstly, i have N910F Snapdragon, and running Lollipop v5.0.1, on my device.
I am very happy overall and prefer the lockscreen changes in Lollipop
My suggestion about flashlight you most probably wouldn't prefer but to me its even better than having it on lockscreen.!
If you get a SView cover, the flashlight option is available in SView
window if you swipe to the right ... you have "torch" button
So you don't even have to open device!
Just as good alternative?
good luck
is there anyway to Disable the built-in Pop up notification of lollipop????!
i prefer to use a 3rd party app that does what i really need but can not find any way to cancel the notification of the built in lollipop feature
please help..
