Running stock LG ROM, rooted with xposed on vs980.
I'm wondering if it's possible to make the notification LED work with the screen on as well as off.
Is there an xposed module that might do it, or could be added to G2xposed or G2TweaksBox?
Or a config file somewhere I can add/edit a line to accomplish this?
I loved that feature of AOKP on my GNex. Haven't taken the leap to flashing a new ROM on my G2 yet, but I would love the feature now.
Especially when playing a full-screen game, but even more needed once I upgrade to a KitKat ROM and use multiple apps in immersive mode with no statusbar/notifications visible.

Hello all,
Decided to join to KitKat gang, flashed the factory image, installed OTA update and rooted again. Really liking the overall KitKat rom and layout, particularly the improved dialer interface. I can now do away with ExDialer (never been one for installing lots of apps when not needed!).
I have Xposed installed along with Gravity module. Works great however I was hoping it might offer a little more customisation with the navbar, although I appreciate it's early days.
Has anyone seen a mod where I can change the buttons, ie change the recent apps to menu? In Gravity I can add an extra button for menu, but it still keeps the recent apps button there. I have never liked the recent apps button, never use it and would prefer it as menu button.
Thanks.

Did you find a solution?
You can do this on custom ROM like CyanogenMod
Hi there,
Seeking some advice on a ROM. Hate the look of stock LG G2, just installed stock-like kitkat on my old GNex and saw the google experience launcher with transparent everything, DO WANT. However I'm afraid of losing some features of stock LG software. Maybe you guys can recommend some ROMs, or if it's best to stay stock to get all the features I want, recommend some mods that will give me all the ROM features I want?
Things I NEED
Knock On/ Knock Off (LG feature)
4.4 Stock "Look and Feel" (fonts, transparent bars all around, appearance of time and battery and notifications bar, black instead of white setting menu, etc, you get the picture)
Always listening on the home screen, possibly the lock-screen, pretty much anywhere I can have it all over the UI (as per 4.4, not LG)
Recent Apps button instead of a menu button (as per 4.4, not LG)
Open apps from the lockscreen with apps icons already visible when looking at lockscreen (not the style where you hold finger over lock icon to see a choice of apps in a circle, and then have to swipe a specific direction. I used to have that and didnt like it as much as I like LG stock way of actually showing icons without you touching anything, and you swipe the icons, not a lock towards the icons)
Circle battery type thing on status bar that shows percentage
Things I haven't tried/am not sure about but might want from stock LG software, and might not want to lose flashing to custom ROM
Better stock camera?
SmartShare from the gallery app? (says it uses wifi/bluetooth to stream content to other devices)
Beam/DNLA/I don't even remember what it's called or what app I found it in?
Quickremote
You tell me please? I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff I've yet to discover that I might want (are any of LG's apps e.g. notebook useful?)
Things that are cool but not really necessary
Themes and a ton of extra features -- used to use AOKP and they had a decent amount of extra feature, not too few like CM, not too many like other ROMs where my head just starts spinning from all the features
Other
I'd really prefer not to have to wipe all the time, CM's OTA update feature was awesssooome when I had CM on my GNex, but CM is a little feature-lite for me, I mean it was good though, that's just a minor complaint. But if there's something better fitting my criteria above I'll put up with having to wipe to flash updates of the same ROM in the future if its necessary. I just never understood why OEMs can push OTAs to people and never make them wipe, but for custom ROMs (updating new versions of same ROM) I have to re-set-up everything every time
A lot of this stuff has been addressed already. Most ROMs have knock on built in, but not knock off. The work around is downloading an app that turns the screen off, and using a gesture control in another app (such as Nova Launcher) to double tap the home screen to turn the screen off. Though personally, I just have screen off set to my nav ring so I can access it from any page I'm on.
There's a flashable install here on the forums some where for Quick Remote. Works fine on AOSP ROMs.
As for 4.4 stuff, I have no idea.

How did you do that? I nowhere find a setting to change anything in the navigation ring.

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S4 running Sammy Deluxe S5 ROM. However I love the look of material design in android L but will loose S4 features including the camera app, if I were to install an stock google rom and theme it, I had pacman ROM for start and being new to custom roms I didn't realize that i'll get rid of all S4 features so installed teh Sammy Deluxe S5 ROM as it's based on touchwiz.
I instead have started changing the theme by installing go launcher and using a android L icon pack (android L launchers aren't as feature rich as go launcher). I've also used wanam xposed to change the color of the notification draw however there are some issues.
Everything looks fine except the draw handle (blue bar at the bottom of drawer) is still the same S5 colors and with brightness slider enabled there is a white line above the notification bar but that goes away if I disable the brightness control but I've installed Icontrol centre to get around that issue until I can find a way to fix it properly.
Is there anyway I can manually theme the phone, I've started looking at APK modding and have looked through the ROM files but can't seem to find anything to change the colors of the notification drawer. Even better would be if there is any other xposed module that can theme more expects of the galaxy S5 also would be nice to theme the settings too.

there are many modules available for themeing in closed installer
you can try gravity box its superb
Use Gravity Box or Wanam Xposed for theming.
Not all modules are compatible with android 4.3 or 4.4
This is for CM 11S 4.4.4 Kitkat version - no need to do this on COS 13.1 6.0.1...
Short story on why I need it:
Coming from the SGS4, I got used to my habits and the functionality of the led notification that is being able to continue pulsating, even if my screen was on or I was using my phone.
The necessity derives from the fact I sometimes use my phone in silent mode and while messaging in one app, I receive notifications in another. Without pulsating led notification, I would need to finish w/e I was doing and see the notification above the app icon that received notification. Also cause I have set personalized led colors based on my contacts too, aside per app so it's rather useful to know the person A sent me whatsapp message and not person B etc...
Other times, I would just need it so it stays there for, let's say 5 minutes. Other times, I was simply asking - WTH, if it can work for the battery (without pulsating when charging), why it can not work for whatever app I need it to work?
Seen the One+1 std. functionality is not doing that, aside battery charging, but with fixed light... I searched a bit and found a workaround. Maybe there is a small tiny bit of impact on the the battery, but I could care less.
Disclaimer:
I can not be held responsible in any way for your actions in setting your phone. If you chose to follow this guide, it's your responsibility of what you're doing and of what might happen to your phone.
Requisites:
So to make the notification led working even your screen is lit, and so to continue pulsating when you turn on your screen (within the set timespan) you will need:
1. A rooted One+1 phone
2. CM11S 4.4.4 ANdroid version - xposed is working as it should, is stable and without glitches.
3. xPosed framework - lastest official and stable version (for the moment, consider KK stable ver.) - Be sure to make a system wide nandroid backup before installing xPosed framework.
4. XLED module - download from the modules repository inside xPosed app.
5. Lightflow (maybe other similar apps can fit all the the same, but I use Lightflow) - download from the Play Store, Pro version can set vast majority of apps that has and supports notifications.
Howto:
Assuming you know how to root your phone and what xPosed is and how to manage it (if not, do read some in the dedicated sections or use google)...
1. Install the xLed module, activate it in the xPosed Install app and reboot your phone.
2. Install Lightflow, open it and go to Device Settings and Root, set it up to work in the root mode only, no other settings are needed. Set your per app or per contact notifications as you're pleased.
3. Open the XLED app, check Enable XLED and Screen on LED and close it.
4. Go to your phone settings and turn off battery notification light, turn off custom values under Notification light while leaving the checkmark on Notification light option.
5. Test your notification pulsating from Lightflow app or wait to receive some notification or put your phone on the charger.
Enjoy. :victory:
Note:
I have not touched any other XLED options or set other functionality but what I already wrote, seen how both Lightflow and XLED have some similarities in what they do - I don't want them conflicting by setting the same stuff twice. You are free to try this all out even without Lightflow by setting the XLED only, but my goal was to make custom Lighflow notifications to stick while the screen is lit as I use Lightflow. I achived that and that's how far it goes for me.

Sorry for the crappy quality and the pause followed by the cut, my net was lazy...
Starting a separate thread for missing/broken functions on Rooted Xposed Note 4 On Stock Touchwiz Kitkat 4.4.4
HELP :
Customised the phone in every possible way except three functions still missing :
a. Lockscreen widgets not available with phone on Pattern Lock, only on Swipe or None. Used to be easily available on my earlier JB Note3. But now Xposed Modules for Lockscreen Widgets or Widgetlocker are not working. Only way I can get them is by installing an S5 Xposed module for Locker Widgets and then Samsung Multiple Widgets Module. But that only gets me going on Swipe Lock, not pattern/Fingerprint/PIN.
b. Unable to change the stock dialer's background color. Earlier in my Note 3 JB had black color when call was dialing which changed to green only once the call connected, in this stock Kitkat ROM the color is green beforehand so that without vibration its impossible to know if the call is connected unless you are listening through earpiece. All 3rd party Dialers are of no use since at the time of actual calling they all take you to stock Dialer.
c. Whenever I try to select any text in any app, soon as I take the selection cursor behind the popped-up keyboard the selection cursor disappears and I CANNOT select any more text below. In the previous JB ROM, I could continue scrolling down and selecting text automatically even behind the Keyboard, but not anymore. Dont know if this is stock behavior or one of the apps/Xposed modules triggered this. Members can guide.
PLEASE HELP.
Anyone can help me with these 3 functions please? Im desperate, can try any paid app or module too.
Anyone??????

Just to update point no.c is resolved. Instead of using stock Gmail App if you use Email App then the problem disappears, and I had issue mainly with my mail app.
Now if only a and b also get resolved, I will have a truly Magical Phone
Quick Update : Used Hell00's Dialer Mod to change the background color to Black theme, so part of the dialer issue resolved. But the background color doesnt change once call connected like it did with my Note3 JB, so only partly resolved.
