Vanir is now in Beta for the Find5. We could use some feedback on how it is doing. Currently, we forked CM's device tree + kernel
Currently all Oppo builds can be found in the nightly section for both Vanir and Commotio

Only this one: android_device_oppo_find5 + the kernel
We have otherwise modified CM and/or other find5 device repos. And of course built upon VanirAOSP.
We are now modifying the kernel..... sooo only that branch listed above.

Seemed fast but I had 2 issues. No phone? I could call from the contacts app but there's no dialer lol. And the blue font does not play well with themes. I'd like to try it again for sure.

Commotio vs Vanir is basically scripts and theme. I prefer some different scripts. And makes telling Nuke's and my nightlies apart much easier.

It was probably a bad flash, however I like this! Works with Xposed perfectly. Just a few tweaks around the settings and this will be my daily driver as long it keeps updating and till the One Plus One is out
I have been testing this Rom for the last three days and it is really good The latest nightly is a little messed up as the corresponding cyanogenmod so it is understandable. You should open a threat over at oppo's forums, the find 5 community is very active there and you would get a lot of love for this Rom thanks for your work

DG, just a quick question, I saw some chatter in some of the other ROM threads about a possible issue with the barcode scanner (relating to video issues with the 2.2.1 source) and your name was dropped as looking into it. Is this an issue still with Perception 10?

barcode scanner isn't compatible with 2.2.1...
edit...
pretty much anything that uses the camera needs to be updated to support 2.2.1, every camera app I have tried in the market FC's. Stock camera works fine.

I flashed a couple 2.2.1 roms and at first when I did a TiBu restore, I restored all the apps with data and got the fc's on email, barcode scanner and camera 360. I reflashed the roms, but this time didnt restore email.apk, camera or camera firmware and no more fc's. I even tried it on perception 9.5 and it worked.
It works! Give it a shot

Looking for feedback on CM10.1 vs. sticking with the stock ROM. I've used CM10.1 on my GS3 , but wondering what the advantages are of using it on the N4.
Being that you have used both stock build and cm10 you should be able to judge which works better for you.

The only con is a slightly slower Android upgrade path. Having said that, 2-3 weeks max (for a Nexus device) isn't that long to wait. Beats all the manufacturers.

Not really. When CM does get updated to the next version of Android, Nexus devices are the first to get it on CM whereas other devices will take longer (and things may not be working day one for other phones whereas Nexus it will be working from day one, just not all the CM goodies will be available right away as it'll take time to port them over)
Alternatively, people may flash non-CM roms and just a AOSP version of the new Android to try out new features etc etc
My biggest consideration is battery , I'm not impressed with my battery hardly making it through a 8 hours of the day.

CM10 will most definitely help you out with that. Some people have been getting weird Android OS or Mediaserver troubles that eat away at their battery with stock 4.2.1. How many hours of screen on time are you getting?

Kernel plays a bigger role in battery conservation more than a ROM. People always gets mixed between the two.
To fix battery problems,
1) Ensure Google Latitude is off (it's in Google Maps). Disable automatic reporting of location and all the other checks in that menu.
2) Flash a ROM that meets your requirements (there is no BEST ROM).
3) Flash a Kernel that meets your requirements based upon feedback and past experiences (there is no BEST KERNEL).
4) Install BetterBatteryStats @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
5) Use BetterBatteryStats to ensure there are no kernel and partial wakelocks. If there are debug them. Ensure that your phone is indeed deep sleeping (use BetterBatteryStats to look at CPUStates or download CPUSpy from Play Store).
I recommend CM10.1 Jellybro + Franco Kernel, but that's based on my own personal opinions. Look around the dev forums and decide what you like the most
Edit: Oh yeah, how could I forget... go into Google Now and disable the cards you don't need.

+1 for CM10.1 Jellybro + Franco. I've also used MiNCO ROM which is pretty good, but not a ton of features yet so I'm sticking with CM10.1
Installed CM10.1 , seems there is more real estate (5 icons across vs 4?) ...
anyone else had the problem where you can't create app folders on the home screen?
Hey what is CM10.1 JellyBro?
Is it the nightly CM 10,1?

It's the same thing as CM10.1 but including cherry picks.
Cherry picks are unmerged features that are currently pending/awaiting approval from CM. They are implemented within Jellybro before official nightlies get them. It is a very stable ROM and uses the same sources as CM. So whatsever in CM10.1 is in Jellybro, just jellybro has extras (very minimal)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015081 is the thread.

Check it out ...
JellyBro link
It's basically CM 10.1 with some cherry picks (additions) that either get merged into CM or they are removed because they become obsolete

It's fixed in 12/27.
To elaborate on dmorand,
If cherry picks disappear, it's because they were merged, abandoned or conflict with the current source or other cherry picks.

not only because they are 'obsolete' (not really obsolete but abandoned)

that's only the case on devices that weren't made to run aosp android, such as HTC (sense), Samsung (touchwiz), motorolla (motoblur). on nexus devices that natively run stock android, cm works id say 99% perfectly. and usually if there is a "bug" its cosmetic and doesn't affect the functionality of the phone one bit, and once reported by a user it gets fixed pretty fast (within the next few nightlies)

Hey there,
I am searching for a ROM with following requirements:
- Resizeable Navbar, want it a bit smaller
- Opacity of navbar and statusbar background should be changeable, want it transparent
- Should be smooth but no need to be extremely fast in every benchmark, I'd prefer a longer battery life
- Gridsize should be changeable, but could be done by nova launcher etc. if not by the rom itself
- Changeable statusbar symbols would be nice
Any suggestions wich ROM would fullfill most criteria?
Thanks!
I would go for AOKP any time. It's fast, smooth, stable and customizable. In combination with Apex Launcher it can do everything you want and for different statusbar icons there are lots of cool themes suppported by AOKP.

Yes, you can change both statusbar and navbar transparency simultaniously. It's under ROM Control/General UI about halway down the menu.

Ah okay thank you! Maybe you can also tell me the difference between the normal AOKP ROM and the unofficial release from Roman?
Right now I am downloading build 2 of the official ROM.
One last question ^^ does it come with another kernel? If not which kernel would you recommend?
AW: Which ROM would you recommend me?
I don't know the included kernel.
I would go with the Build 2, because this one is more stable.
As kernel I would choose franco's kernel, for me it has awesome battery life and very good perfomance.

I would go with Paranoidandroid, it really is on of the most custom ROM's out their at the minute bringing amazing features to Android. You can change the Nav bar size and colour or or go with tablet UI completely. Battery life would be more ROM, and kernel specific so thats a matter of opinion really.
Im running Slim bean. Really responsive. You can customize Nav bar I'm using the assassins creed nav bar icons and you can change colors and everything, running with their inverted apps, the less whites the better battery. On Franco's kernel also.

I personally use Xylon ROM (tons of features even compared to AOKP), Paranoid Android is also fantastic, I'm on Harsh kernel, smoothest experience and great battery life (5hrs+ screen on), was a Franco fan till I tried Harsh
Paranoid Android is where it's at.
panaroid, Xenon HD, Xylon....etc..

Paranoid Android using pie controls while still retaining the status bar is a dream come true once you get used to it.
It doesn't slow me down at all and the extra screen real estate is something that I wouldn't want to live without (especially in browser, youtube, video and games).

Ah okay thank you! Maybe you can also tell me the difference between the normal AOKP ROM and the unofficial release from Roman?
Right now I am downloading build 2 of the official ROM.
One last question ^^ does it come with another kernel? If not which kernel would you recommend?

How is aokp in terms of battery drain? I've heard that it drains a lot. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Paranoid android. Before I would switch between several roms but now with the several most recent updates for PA I'm not leaving that ROM anymore
cm10.1 jellybrO
AOKP hands down.
Thanks all, I tried Xylon and liked it a lot, but suddenly my play store app disappeared and I don't know how.
Then tried Paranoid but I don't like the menu interface and went to AOKP.
AOKP was very fine until now, but my play store disappeared again. I have absolutely no idea what is happening.
But I will open another thread for this problem. Wouldn't be appropriate here.
I've not seen this ROM mentioned for Moto X before... but here it is:
http://download.mokeedev.com/?device=moto_msm8960dt
Details about this ROM:
MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.
A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Like most contributors of open source projects (Omni, CyanogenMod, Slim AOSPA etc), we are doing all these in our free time as our passion...
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development (maintain new devices, contribute code etc). Newcomers are always welcomed!
Read here for developer application: http://www.mfunz.com/en/developer-application, you can host your unofficial MoKee builds on our server!
Some benefits of Mokee:

Snippet from a review at techgeekal.com
"Some would accuse me of wrongly placing mokee OS above giants like PA and CM. But I shall give you the reasons why I have done that. First and foremost this ROM has all of the features the above mentioned CM11 has like dual SIM compatibility and being absolutely bug less. But it comes with the added incentive of a number of other features that CM lacks. Things like Multi Windows, List view animations, Halo, Active display including various others are not found in CM natively but in Mokee OS these work absolutely perfectly. Now some may even say that PAC and Carbon too have some of these features, but they lack dual SIM support which is why this is currently the ROM to beat. Its got everything you can ask for, from features to stability. And they are constantly adding new features which makes it even better."
I'm going to flash it now, and will post my opinion shortly...
First impressions:
1) Buttery smooth, polished and snappy; CM11-type setup process. Some native Chinese options appear right off (not of interest to me, but I wanted to mention that it was easy to select English as the default...)
2) I'm using an XT1060 Verizon Moto X. And while the ROM states it's for the msm8960dt, I waited several (uncomfortable) minutes on first launch before it detected a cell signal. All seems fine now. Strength is on par with CM11 4.4.4. I haven't used the ROM long enough to know if Mokee shares the same problems as CM11...
3) Really nice OTA interface, with frequency choices as to how often it checks for new versions to update.
4) The ROM throws up the error that ART is not officially supported, but you can easily select it in Settings/Developer Options and reboot. If you haven't done this before, I was quickly reminded that it takes FOREVER to convert all of your apps to ART...
5) Supports Cyanogenmod Themes - nice touch. I love the Flux theme (all but their icons - I substitute Velur).
6) I seem to be able to scroll up and down pages with this ROM faster than any other I've used before. Render time is incredible.
More soon...
And about 1080p back câmera record?
1080p option...though they must have their labeling backwards...that should be for "rear camera"...

How is the Active Display app? Any better than the typical play store options?

what about the gapps?

I used PA 4.4.4 gapps and it is working beautifully.
A little lag here and there but not a deal-breaker.
Now I just need to test gps and if it has no issues, this will be my daily driver for now.

I used PA Gapps, and google keyboard force closed. Then wipe data and cache, then install rom, and doesn't install gapps, and reboot to rom. And the rom contains gapps. Hmmm...
I used PA 4.4.4 gapps also. I don't stay with other ROMs too long, as Verizon seems to really be sensitive with signals when I'm not on stock... so I didn't get to test the Active Display function. Either way, Floatify, DynamicNotifications, and NotifierPro are all great solutions for any ROM. I did notice lockscreen notification swipe panes on Mokee were functioning and nice though.
A few very minor issues with a couple of apps...I couldn't get BackDrop Root Pro, for example, to recognize that BusyBox was indeed installed.
I would likely have kept it if it weren't for the signal.
PS - I cant recall exactly where, but I believe if you install the ROM and then go to Settings / Mokee Center / Extras, you will see that the ROM will allow you to download and install gapps right from there...

I am using the release version of Mookie, not the nightly build, with pa_gapps-stock-4.4.4-20140629-signed.
I did a complete wipe including system folder.
So far I have two single issues after using this rom all day and they are minimal.
1. I had a f/c when I received my first call after installing the rom. The issue has not repeated itself after several incoming calls.
2. Btooth does not seem to be sending music data to my car stereo, which usually displays music information.
These two issues are all that I've had after a full day of use.
A couple of things.
Battery life is good. Seems a little bit better even, compared to stock, at least fot me. Still the best battery life I have had so far is with Krypton.
I used the camera, gps, bluetooth, wifi, wired and wireless headstes and had absolutely zero issues.
Call quality is good, as well as volume. There are no speakerphone issues. Gps locks very fast and stays locked.
CM11 themes work perfectly. And camera seems to be working fine.
I love the little touches added to the rom.
All in all, I say this is superb, and for a new rom, it feels like it is ready for prime time.
ROM is running very smooth without any issues...using gapps 6.30.2014 with an unlocked, non Dev, VZW Moto X. The theming is very nice too....

Translation has been corrected on yesterdays release, it now displays front and rear cameras correct resolution.
But rear facing camera has been limited to 320x240. It is the front facing camera that can record up to 1080p.
Photo resolution seems to be ok.
Battery usage looks higher now, on last release.
Im gonna try this, thanks!!
Doh! After updating to 7/12 I'm having signal and GPS issues.
Going back to previous version to see if it is resolved.
Disregard this post.

Because the developer is not here....there's no kernel source code linked....there's a very specific set of rules/guidelines for posting a rom in the development section.
