Flash the original ROM. You can find it at sammobile.

Hey all
I have the S4 i9505 variant that I ordered from 3 uk. It is network locked to this carrier.
Im trying to root (and install a custom recovery) but the only method I have been able to try is the motochopper method (which has not worked) and I cant seem to access odin mode to root this way without having a custom recovery already installed which is something I cant seem to do unless I can put the phone into odin mode in the first place and flash the necessary files.
Can anyone please offer some assistance as I cant seem to see where im going wrong.
My ultimate goal is to have a rooted device with a custom recovery and stock rom installed with the ability to still recieve official ota updates etc if its possible? (Ota updates not that important)
Apologies for my noob explanation of the issue and if any additional info is needed please holla
I also have a live demo version of the gs4 which im trying to re flash the firmware to make this device functional but again I cant seem to access odin mode thru stock recovery.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Chris

CF Auto Root.
That is your answer. It will make getting root access the easiest thing you've ever done to a phone.
If you have a custom recovery I don't believe you can get OTA updates. You would have to return to stock first.
Also, what version of Android does your phoen have? If it has the latest 4.3 update you will have something called Knox that will affect anything like this that you are trying to do. Please see the KNOX information stickied thread to learn more about this.

Your best bet is to go into download mode and flash the official stock
firmware for your phone which you can find at http://sammobile.com
There are other ways of doing it but the other ways may not work for you.
After doing that you will need to root your phone if you want it rooted.
Good luck!
thanks you
how can i choose the firmware...i think i have something with mj7 .can you help me with the steps tha i have to do?
i had before the s3 and it was so easy to root i confuse with s4 a little bit couse i'm not expert

I only advise u that if u root ur phone u will void ur warranty (Knox 0x1). Knowing that I think this is the best method for root ur smartphone: CLICK HERE
Someone please help me i decided to root my s4 the Canadian version it was on 4.4.2 but when i decided to unroot it using a video on YouTube that unroot file downgraded my phone to 4.2.2 which is a big problem now because the WiFi is not working neither the microphone or speakers. When it boots up it says kernel is not seandroid enforcing and set warranty bit kernel I tried to find the 4.4.2 stock but couldn't find it anywhere the one i found is taking way too long to download around 12 hours. Also i tried updating it with Samsung Kies but that is not working either someone please help.

Thanks bro but can you help me here.
I just reread your op...a root app cannot downgrade a firmware, that's impossible
What was it that you actually flashed? I'm assuming you flashed a full 4.2.2 rom and that's why you are having issues
Flash 4.4.2 back onto your phone and the problem should be solved
If the download takes 12 hours, you're just gonna have to wait
Oh, friendly advice - never use YouTube for stuff like this. Go to the forum I linked and get what you need from there
One more thing, please don't call me bro
