factory reset/cyanogenmod

I installed Cyanogenmod 7.2 on my Xperia Arc S. Then installed Google Apps from CM because I needed it, but found out it installs way more google apps than I am comfortable with and tried to get rid of it ever since:
I tried a factory reset via the privacy settings, I tried the data wipe/factory reset via the bootloader menu, I erased all data via the USB connection and re-installed CM -- no success, Google Apps is still there.
I tried hard resetting the phone pressing back and menu buttons and then powering on the phone, but it only boots normally.
Any ideas how I can remove the google apps?`
I'm sure reflashing the kernel and rom will return you to square one, and from there, try installing what you need.

[Q] Need to reinstall S-Note factory app

I recently rooted my S4 and deleted a number of the preloaded factory apps. I would like to reinstall one of them...S-Note. Would anyone have the APK file for this that I could use to reinstall? Or is there another way to get the app back besides doing a hard reset?

KitKat Launcher after factory data reset on 5.1.1

This seems really odd to me. I did a Factory data reset under Settings > Backup & reset to wipe all my info from my N10 before giving it to someone else. Once it completed and the other person signed in with their Google account, the main launcher screens are the KitKat version rather than Lollipop even though it is on 5.1.1. Everything else looks like Lollipop - the Settings screen and options within, the stock apps like the calc are the Lollipop version. Not sure why the home screen and app drawer aren't updated. Do I need to just install the Google Now Launcher from the Play Store and set that as the default or is there something else I should try first? Why wouldn't the stock Lollipop launcher have stuck after the data wipe?

Manually installed Emojis, now they refuse to go away...

Hey there, I manually installed different emoji by switching out the NotoColorEmoji ttf, but now after changing them back they refuse to go away. Is there something I'm missing here? Permissions are set correctly.
If your manually installed emojis or any other similar third-party installed and they refuse to work, then you should do a hard reset and restore your factory settings.

I'd rather not do a full factory reset for something this minor. Is there a cache or another file I'm missing here?
