[Q] Mobile internet does not work - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Mobile internet does not work to failure . Prior to the first number flashing Inet worked with enthusiasm. But after put CM 11 , then it stopped working . Sometimes appeared icon "E" and "H" icon beside the network signal . But even when these letters were , the Internet is still not there . In the general information number " data transmission mob. Sharing " is eternal " connection " or " connected " , but an Internet or not. Then moved on to the same CM 10.2.1 because thought because nightie , and no internet . Reflash radio module , firmware flashed correctly ... But an Internet and has not appeared.
What could be wrong?
To correct only reflash radio and switched to a stable CM 10.2.1
Tried to roll back to stock, still did not help. EDGE icon appeared on the second, but then disappeared. Internet appeared as yin.

Might sound silly, but did you check your APN? And is it selected? (is it "checked"?)

Ahah, yes. APN is right and checked.

How did you reflash back to stock? Did you flash the official Google images or restore a nandroid? I would suggest reverting to the stock images and trying again.
Can you verify the SIM is working properly with the APN you are using in another device?

Can you connect to your routers interface (usually an address like 192.168.178.1, check the bottom of your router or your routers manual)?

Yes, I flash official Google images.
I verify the sim on iphone and there internet is worked...

If you do a *#06# in the dialer, does it show a valid IMEI number? 16 digits beginning with 3564?

[READ]AOSP ROM broke my mobile data

I built latest ICS from AOSP. I also used the proprietary binaries. I immediately wanted to test wifi and mobile data and it didn't work...
So I flashed back to Pixel ROM. There my wifi worked again but mobile data connection not
Then I flashed latest KI radio. Still no mobile data...
My provider is Proximus
The APN settings seem correct at first glance.
#151# is showing me I have 179MB left
What can I do to fix? I tried numerous ROMs and radio's? Is it possible something is broke on my Nexus S?
IMEI 357194041841347
IMEI is still correct.
My device is showing no wifi mac adres or not bt adress. Also no ip adress. Maybe it is because wifi and bt are turned off...
Maybe I am paranoid, maybe not. Maybe I flashed a wrong partition ? I was hoping someone could help me.

But after installation done, my phone wasn't detect the HSDPA/HSPA Connection(Before i do install that trick, my phone 3G Are great, but the problem is my phone always restarting every 1-5 min). I've checked 4636 and then i change the connection to JAPAN BAND for get HSDPA Connection, but it never works, still only can use only EDGE Connection. I see my brother phone connection is HSDPA on, but when i change his card to my phone, the HSDPA Connection are can't be use, always no signal. Did u know what was wrong sir? i've re-installed fw froyo-gw-froyo-gb and then no effect was takes. still can only use EDGE Connection :'(
Did you change the IMEI?
This guide replaces the IMEI which was in another phone.
is your phone the normal u8800, or u8800-51, or u8800H? (or u8800pro)

i'm tempted to think that you may have a wrong firmware somehow, because for example I have u8800H. It supports HSDPA and HSUPA+. However, when i use u8800 firmware, what happpens is that i lose the ability to switch networks. So i'm only forced to use "select network automatically".
What you can try at this moment is go to google play, download "Elixir 2".
after running it, go to information then click "telephony". Then try to do the APN or the data settings. Try switching it to UMTS/WCDMA only. That may help (more battery used!)
Or, probably the ROM you're using (since you said you're now on official ROM) has lower TX transmit power?

Maybe. now im back on cm7 kernel 32(base froyo) . Still got signal only up 2bar. When try to go to b526 the H signal are lost. Only can use edge connection
I will try to go to B528 as soon as possible
I Think my problem is on IMEI, bcoz after flash the fullflash.bin my imei changed to another phone, needs to change IMEI to stock (FRESH FLASH IMEI, NO ONLY FLASHING THE NUMBER) so i can get the H signal working good again. But i was try using DFS to change, only IMEI number changed and keep hsdpa no working
*UPDATE
After flash directly to B528, It still no signal when go to gingerbread. i must back to froyo and install cm7 again or get another tips to get my H signal working fine again?

stick to the 528, but i think you may need to reflash your IMEI, I think. But if you do it again chances are it may break down your phone.
How about the APN settings? Is it there?

I have flash B528, reflash the imei but qualcomm.background passwors are wrong. try to restore imei from my brother phone and imei is 0. setting qualcomm background pass= 0 and it worked. re-flash imei but no luck. still no signal
And im reflash my phone again with linux ubuntu like before. using cm7 32 kernel are better way than breaking hardware (overheated component) of my phone
APN setting are exist
With operator im using "Three" i can get 2 signal bar hsdpa
and "XL" i got up fullbar (but its only appear a few sec -,-) but my phone still usable than before i had problem auto reboot
hi. i have exactly the same problem that you have. i flashed my phone with that fullbackup.bin and updated the phone to b528. i already tried all the GB roms and nothing, can't have cdma(umts) network, only gsm. (edge)
tried to flash my own imei, and have the same problem. no 3g at all
anyone have a workaround for this problem? i managed to take the phone to the warranty, and came equal. (what a lol)

GT-i9505 No mobile network/data after flashing custom ROM

Hi guys been searching all day when I can grab some free WiFi, basically I rooted my s4 gti9505 with auto root and then installed custom recovery, and flashed PAC rom. I'm unable to make calls or receive mobile data but can use WiFi. My settings say baseband unknown .. I'll attach a picture of my settings here in this thread. I have attempted to flash a modem/radio in Odin but this didn't seem to make any difference, the problem is I'm not sure if it was the right thing to do (didn't make a back up of my phone foolishly before flashing PAC rom)
I'd appreciate any help with this guys! My network is vodaphone UK if that makes any difference to any advice given...
Thanks in advance!

will do this too, have just finished flashing MGA modem twice using your steps, will flash rom again..i wonder if i should wipe/factory wipe as i would when installing new rom...ill try it!
no luck -still no network. im running out of ideas
network - unknown
mobile network type - unknown
imei unknown
imei sv - unknown
going out now for a while but thought id ask - do you think that installing official stock rom (perhaps from your s4 unrooting guide) would help flashed via odin? from searching i can see that some folk suggest that stock will reinstall everything i need...im hoping so, i really wouldnt mind going back to stock, anythings better than this

did you put modem in "phone" in odin?
hmmm weird! i guess your imei is not corrupted, sometimes while flashing rom in cwm, efs partition is not detected, so flashing modem twice should work
you can try with an other modem, use new one (but im sure to flash it twice)
another option is trying to flash your stock firmware

yes put it in "phone" mode, thats the second or third one i have flashed now so im not sure it wont help but for sure ill try again!
are you able to determine that its not corrupted? would it state as such if it were? im going to flash a stock firmware as a last resort. lost after that haha
edit - installed cwm using sgs4 flasher and re-installed my custom rom and gapps, booted no probs and network now working - sorted!! thanks for your help i dont think i would have reflashed the rom without your advice to do so
So I'm practically in the same boat. I'm currently on P.A.C. man nightly 09/18 (Vodafone Germany branded device). I never had similar problems, but now I can't call (or be called) and I'm not able to use mobile data.
I nearly tried everything:
1) I checked the IMEI (saved it before switching over to custom roms), but an IMEI number is still there.
2) Went back to stock to see if it's a problem of P.A.C. man ROMS or not. On stock it didn't work either.
3) Went back to P.A.C. man ROM and flashed modem XXUBMF8 via Odin 3.04 (from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025)
4) Flashed the modem again after I flashed the ROM because it didn't work either.
So I'm completely lost now, I really don't know what to do next. I had mobile data for a couple of seconds every now and then, but nothing stable. And since the problem came up (yesterday evening) I can not make any calls at all.
Can someone help me?
Edit: The very strange thing is that I have full reception balks in the notification area (only in grey). But still, I guess this means that the device is somehow able to detect a signal but can not connect to it?
Edit2: I apparently have no Device-ID. May that be a problem?
So I took some screenshots to show you guys my problem a bit better. For some reason my mobile data now works (currently HSPA, but it's extremely slow). But I still can't make any calls (or get called too). =/
Edit: So to sum this up: the strangest thing about this problem is, that even when I go back to full stock I can't make calls. =/ What could be the problem? An IMEI number is present in the settings (althouh the 'IMEI SV' under 'About phone' --> 'Status' was one digit below the current one that I can see under those stats). The whole problem makes me believe that my provider can't sort my phone number to my device (I'm on Vodafone; but if that's really the case: why the hell does mobile data works sometimes?!). The other possibility: something with the modem/radio is broken. Could this be the problem? The thing is that I also tried to flash a custom modem, but the problem is still there...
I'm really concerned that my phone just became an expensive paperweight
Slightly different than my problem in that I didn't even have any bars for reception..my problem was fixed by changing the custom recovery software (originally I used philz to flash PAC), But I flashed cwm and then used this to again flash PAC, and all was good..don't ask my why but it helped me so you might want to try this...

Thank you for your answer!
You also flashed a different modem didn't you? Did this help or was it only the custom recovery? I'm confused because I used CWM before and never had problems. But then this mess all came up...
Yes I flashed several modems, that didn't help..only using a different custom recovery to flash my custom Rom again helped..hope you get sorted!

So I tried to flash PAC with TWRP 2.6.0 (it worked before), but the problem is still there.
I'm really confused. I really don't know what I can do or try to fix this mess... Is there some USSD code or something to find out if my device is missing some ID codes or if the modem is messed up or something?
Edit:
Update: For some reason I now can receive calls/SMS but only when I'm on GPRS speed. Outgoing and ingoing calls are no problem then. When my device is on HSPA or HSPA+ speed however, the old problem of not being able to call or be called is back. On one hand it's good that I'm somehow able to make calls again on the other hand it gets stranger and stranger. I know that it's a bug on PAC man ROMs that you can't change the mobile data speed options (LTE/HSPA/GPRS etc.), but I think that this could be the problem (or at least a part of it)...

Have you checked your APN? Think that might be a problem.
Also please post the steps you take before flashing PAC (ROM, kernel, recovery, etc)

Within Wireless & Networks --> Mobile Networks --> Network Mode? On PAC? It always crashes when I try to change something there. In the PAC bug post this seems to be a known bug, my mode is also set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE. But whenever I enter the settings to change this, only 'LTE' is chosen as option. I don't have LTE on my plan and I read somewhere else that Vodafone has major problems with it's LTE network here in Germany and that it may be better for customers without it to turn it off.
About APN: there is definitely something strange. I can enter the settings and I see three different APNs that were not created by me (they must be the standard carrier ones): they are called Vodafone DE (for Germany), 1und1 (pretty strange because the settings are the very same on this one, only the name is different) and Vodafone DE-MMS.
The strange thing now is that I can't change any value of the Vodafone DE APN... When I go into its settings, everything ia greyed out. This was the same on the stock ROM...
Now when I create a new APN with the correct provider settings (found via Google on the VF homepage), the phone still won't work. When I put the device aside for a few minutes, the Vodafone Deutschland DE APN is the selected APN again although I never went back to it...
Is there some option to take a deeper look into the modem stats to see what's the problem?

I tried that already, but it didn't help. Same problem...
I factory resetted the phone, wiped cache and dalvik cache and then flashed my Vodafone branded stock ROM via Odin that I had on my device when I got it. Didn't help for some reason... But: should I also try to go back to stock ROM via KIES? I haven't tried this method until now...
Edit: About my flashing method: I went from the stock ROM to rooted (via CF Auto root with Odin). For PAC I then flashed TWRP 2.6.0 and then in recovery factory resetted the phone, wiped cache and dalvik and then installed PAC. After that I installed GApps. I used this method before and it worked without any problems...
Edit2: I found this thread, it appears to be the same/a similar problem with the S3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805709&page=6
Now is there something similar for the S4? I think I tried calling ##72786# on stock ROM and it didn't work...

Delete the unused APNs.
Do you have mobile data?
Also I asume that you're running the latest vertigo's build, because with me GSM/WCDMA/LTE is always selected.

Sometimes I have mobile data, but only for very limited time; for the majority of time, I don't have mobile data and can not make calls.
I also tried to delete the unused APNs, but still no change =/
I tried to use a different Micro SIM in this device, but the same problem appears. No data, no phone although I have grey reception balks.
any update on this one?!

[SOLVED] Mobile Network not working

Hey everyone,
i had some issue with my note 3 after update from 4.4.2 stock rom to Touchwiz MM Port for Note 3
That ROM is perfect but the issue is bit too high:
My mobile network not working. The settings under mobile network are correct but it says "disconnected" for mobile network state under "About Device" -> "Status".
Then i tought I should update the modem, what I have done to new Baseband N9005XXUGPOK2
But the issue still exist
Should I update the bootloader also?
Thanks for the help in advance

Yes, corret settings have removed settings and add once again and double checked all information.
Nothing happend if I start mobile network.
For the modem and bootloader, I recommend updating both in tandem.
I will do flash modem and bootloader after work at home to see if it works.
First the modem flash and then the bootloader, or should I take both into Odin at same time?
Thanks
Solved the problem.
I´ve updated modem and bootloader, after that it wont go.
But I´ve tested a solution from my friend, he said I should go to the homepage from my provider and there can u put in your phone number and they will send u a SMS with a configuration.
After that my mobile network works.
That´s strange because the APN settings I manual put in was correct !?

Oneplus 5 does not connect to wifi networks

Hello!
My Oneplus 5 does not connect to any wifi networks. It is able to see all wifi networks in the range, and is also able to save the network if the password entered is correct, however, it won't actually connect to any network that is saved. I have tried using advanced options while connecting to a network to change from DHCP to Static settings, but it still won't connect to any network. I have also tried changing the wifi band frequencies (2.4 and 5 Ghz individually) to connect to a network but that too does not help. Mobile Data and carrier signal on the other hand work flawlessly, and so does bluetooth connectivity, NFC and personal hotspot (which is why I am very confused). I should also mention that when it fails to connect to a saved wifi network, it occassionally displays "Disabled" under the network SSID (replacing "Saved").
I have changed 3 different ROMs (LOS, stock OOS and No Limits ROM, even replaced the stock kernel with blu_spark r69 when I tried using No Limits and stock OOS to try and see if that fixed the problem), but the phone just won't connect to any detected/saved network using any of those ROMs. I have reverted it fully back to stock now (OOS 4.5.14 and stock kernel and stock recovery) and am still having the same problem.
Sorry if this issue has been solved before and if I am reposting something, but I really need this fixed ASAP and am not able to find a working solution after searching the forums and googling the whole day. Please help me! Thanks!
Edit: finally fixed the problem thanks to Ivints and PeterGuru. Check out the post that Ivints linked below (especially the comments in page 2 of the same)

Thank you so much Ivints! I'm trying to fix it right now with the solutions I got from the post.
I'm having exactly the same problem that the guy who started that post had. I'll let you know when I fix it and everything goes well again! Thanks again, bud!
if you want to stay on Nougat look for the O2N revert flash file it's in the Oxygen 5 beta threads that will let you get back to a nougat based rom.
The Oreo update touched other partitions outside of /system so those wifi drivers don't work with Nougat anymore

I see... I'll look for that thread and get the flash file! thanks! I'm currently using xXx's No Limits 9.2 OB03 ROM with bluspark 3.2.1 recovery and bluspark r77 (Oneplus 5). The only reason that I feel like reverting back to Nougat is that I want to be able to use Xposed again. So i guess I have that option in hand not too! Thanks, bud!
Hello there my friends, i have a problem with my op5
its about wifi: it doesn t see my wifi anymore. idk why
it s been connected to this wifi 2 years ,even after switching roms kernels, firmwares
and now , it doesnt see the wifi no more, actually it sees it, in `Saved` section, but when i press on it to connect
it says ` not in the area` but my other op6 its connected no problem
and i even tried through qr code, it says ` check ur connection and try again`
Just one add-on cause I was just a few minutes away from formatting my data. My OP5 unlocked rooted, rest stock, wasnt connecting to my home wifis (2,4ghz and 5ghz). I flashed a full ota zip. I deleted wifi bluetooth via backups settings.
But I found out that connecting to an iphone hotspot worked. So I entered manually the network SSID + password although the same network name was already in my wifi list (with marking: "saved"). I then clicked on the second "new" same wifi and it directly connected to my home wifi. Same happened to the 5ghz network. I then deleted the old 2 ones.
I have no idea why this happened, I only tried to get VoLTE/Wifi Call running with the magisk module. This might changed sth but I dont get the connection here since there should be no interference...
