Hello there folks, I recently purchased a LG G2. For the most part is a fantastic phone but I've noticed a few problems with it. The main ones being in the audio department.
When I am making a phone call. I can hear the same sort of noise you notice when you are making a phone call next to a speaker system. It doesn't happen all the time so it must depend upon certain factors including what network mode it's using. It doesn't actually appear to be coming from the earpiece but rather the back of the phone (near where the camera is) as I can hear it more clearly on that side plus also when I'm not in a call.
The noise actually does change depending on what I'm doing. For example, sometimes I will hear a clicking noise just when I'm browsing the web (although this is a non issue, I can only notice it in a quiet room)
So yeah, do you think I should RMA the phone over this? Do any of you guys have the same issue? Thanks.

Checkout my thread I made a while ago...
I suspect it might be it. If so. You can try RMA, but to some degree the new handset will have the same issue, might be better, might be worse.
Better not get an LG device at all, as this is not the first device with this problem....
Or just get used to it....
But once heard cannot be unheard.

I never had any such problem. I think union should return.

Anyone else having this issue? This is a straight up legit T-Mobile phone with stock ROM and WM6.5 upgrade. I've noticed that calls through the speaker are now distorted, blue tooth clarity remains fine though.
Hmmm...no one?

Mine after the upgrade sounds fine
I've had the same issue the entire time I've had my Dash. Right out of the box I had distortion and a crackling in the speaker - i thought i might have had a bad connection on that particular phone call. After flashing - about a month agio, it's continued. As frustrating as TMobile makes me at times, I dont want to try to hash it out with them. I might reflash to see if that helps but I'[m afraid it wont

Could be hardware related, if the contacts are dirty or the speaker is not set properly it will crack.. could be a bad batch of devices.. get a new one under warranty if possible. I got three Dash 3G's the first day they came out and all three sound fine.
Finally couldn't take it anymore and took it back to the T-Mobile store. The new one should arrive this week.
Hi Rotagilla, would be interested to hear if the new one had the same loudspeaker distortion. mine does the same thing and has done from new. i just thought it was a crap quality speaker

The replacment phone just got sent back and I'm now on #3. The same issue happened again...calls started off very clear but then seemed to degrade to the point where unless I was using BT, the audio quality was terrible. I'm not upgrading the phone to WM6.5 at this time, I'm going to wait and see if the same thing happens again. BTW, the TMO rep I dealt wth most recently was excellent...really first class all the way.
Looks like the speaker will continue to be a last resort. BT seems the only way to get clear reception. thanks.....i dont like my chances with a replacement from Telstra. The only thing that disappoints me with this one is not being able to edit the menu items and not having the Voice Dialling tags. replacing it with the Voice Command is a quantum leap backward, otherwise a great phone.
Well the most recent replacement has started doing the same thing. I did not upgrade to WM6.5 and this one lasted the longest before giving in to the speaker distortion gremlin. Pretty bummed about this, guess I'll just have to live with it.
Hi, just got my Note 3 and it is a wonderful device. However, a little issue on the vibration is bugging me at the moment. When I set the vibration intensity at the highest level, there is a slight rattling / out of the ordinary sound for the first 0.5 to 1 second of the vibration. Subsequent vibrations sound normal. No issues at the other lower vibration intensity level. Just wanna find out whether others have the same problem or my phone is defective.
Yep, the same here. I don't consider this as an issue though.

Thanks. I'm ok wif it too, just worried something inside is loose.
is it an issue.. is not normal for a new device. got mine replaced and no more sound when is set to highest
I am having the issue described as well and am curious about how widespread it is. So far in this thread two users report experiencing it, while one says that a replacement device does not exhibit the same behaviour. Adding myself into the mix that makes it 3-to-1 noticing the slight brief buzz at the beginning of the vibration, when set to the highest intensity. It's an even bigger issue when using a multiple quick-repeating vibration, as the little rattle/buzz sound will happen at the beginning of each individual pulse. A small issue maybe, but an irritating one.
Can anyone else confirm either definitely having, or not having this issue?
To test it, it's easiest to go to Vibration Intensity under settings, and flip the slider back and forth between the highest, and second highest levels, to see if you notice a difference. In my case, it sometimes won't happen depending on how/tightly I'm gripping the phone. Most often it will though.
Has anyone with this minor issue managed to find a fix for it?
I have just bought 2 note 3, the first one was a French version which had the rattle, I returned it and got a new one, this time the one they had in the store was the Portuguese version, and guess what, same thing.
both were sealed and brand new, I really want to keep the phone but this is very annoying... (the rattling is an issue for me)

So far only one person in this thread has reported not having the issue, and that with a replacement for one that presumably did. I'd love to know how widespread the issue is as it seems quite common from the posts here, but there's really no way to know with so few responders.
The rattle doesn't seem to be from something actually loose inside, since on the long vibration (incoming phone call) the buzz sound only lasts for the first tenth of a second, of the two-second or so total duration. A loose piece would keep rattling the whole time, so it seems more related to the vibration motor itself starting up. Also, clamping my hand around the both phone edges semi-tightly seems to prevent the buzz, so it could be interaction between the motor and the frame.
My only workaround so far has been to set vibration intensity to the second highest level, which is not really much weaker than the highest and does not produce the buzz/rattle sound.
I just got my phone today and I'm noticing it. I was almost wondering if that was how it was supposed to sound. E either way it annoys me.

hmm, the issue was more widespread that i initially thought. the rattle is kind of annoying. still considering whether to send it to the service centre coz not sure whether they can solve it.
Hi there, with two separate LG g2 phones, I've had the same very issue where when placing calls, I get really bad noise coming from around the headpiece area of the phone. It sounds almost like the typical interference you would get when you place your phone next to a pair of speakers.
I've never experienced this in any phone before - ever. I'm just wondering does anybody here on the forums with the international version face this very same issue? To test it properly, start a voice call - you need to be in a very quiet room and there needs to be complete silence on the other end of the line (although you can still make it out slightly when a persons talking) Thanks.

Try a different SIM from a different carrier and place a call to a different phone, with a different carrier, in a different place.
If you have the same results, you've got yourself a bad phone. If not, at least you know who to blame: your carrier.
no i can honestly say i do not have any problems with call quality both in receiving and making calls,no noises in earpiece or headphones,no audio problems at all im on international model on 02 at the min i also use orange or ee sim in it as well and no faults,i do have all the silly settings like flip your phone and answer as you raise phone to ear stuff switched off ? anyhow thats how mine is -maybe a fault ?
I've noticed that the buzzing isn't always there (even on the same number) I think the phone only starts to make the noise when it's connected to cell tower via edge (2G) When the phone is connected to H+ tower, it's all gone

don't have this problem. why don't you go back to stock and see if it still exists? it it does, well, thats a bad phone. If not, thats the rom.
I don't talk a lot on the phone, so it's taken a couple months to find out this issue.... When I'm talking to someone on the phone, I have to hold the phone pressed up against my face and speak a little louder than I normally do.. If I pull it away any at all, people are always saying they can't hear me or I sound really muffled.
I just called my voice mail and left a message, and this is what I've discovered as well. I knew what I said, but had problems understanding myself unless I held it right up to my face and spoke slightly louder than I've had to do with any other phone.
I heard, back in December, this was an issue and was to be fixed on the next update.... I'm now on a M29P (January release) ROM and nothing has changed.
Has anyone found this to be an issue or have you found a work around/fix for this?
I have the same issue.
When I put the phone in my neck so I have my hands free, people tell me I'm very hard to hear, and it's perfect when I hold it in a normal position...
It's quite frustrating, as I sometimes need to have my hands free..
Same here

Same happen here, it's because the noise reduction micro that the nexus 6p has back, check the small hole on the back face of the phone, when you are in a call put your finger there and they will say the same "I cannot hear you well", there are tweaks on the forums, but I have not tested yet, I used to use the speakers instead
If the phone is like 6 inches away they cant hear me, it's a noise cancelling issue, too strict.
Change in build.prop from true to disable noise cancelling.
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=false
I had this with the very first call I made, but haven't had that complaint since

do this. fixed mine and my mothers problem with calls being muffled
I can't fathom how this is still an issue. I get constant, i mean CONSTANT echo. People stating they hear themselves when they talk to me. I finally downloaded build prop editor as instructed here and edited persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=false as shown here. I have yet to test but it can't possibly get worse than EVERY DAMN CALL not working. Seriously , this is a phone, the tech for calls was perfected only a decade or more ago ?

Do you have any issues when in busy areas like restaurants, bars, airports etc?
the issue is still persist even after the June OTA. is there any way we can contact Google or Huawei to fix this issue permanently ?
I really love the phone but this issue is frustrating as it is a basic need in any phone. phone calls must be ok. how it can be fixed without root.
Have the issue here too even after June update. Will be rooting to edit build prop to see if it helps since I'm not sure I'll get much of any help from Huawei's support.

Hi,
I'm loving my OnePlus 5, but there is a strange behaviour with incoming calls. When the phone is ringing and vibrating, sometimes a really bad buzzing sound occurs every few seconds.
It doesn't happen with every call and I have absolutely no idea what's triggering it. I've thought about the vibration motor, but then it shouldn't only make that sound for some calls.
Anyone else with this issue?
Ok, I've done some tests and can easily reproduce the issue:
It happens when vibration is set to strong, like it is set default for calls, and the phone is lying somewhere. As soon as i touch the phone a little bit or take it in the hand, the sound stops. It cames definitely from the top (right?) of the phone.
It would be nice, if anyone could check if their phone makes the same noises. Either call your phone or simply go to vibrations settings.
I've made a video of the vibration sound on strong settings. Would anyone please be so kind to check it on his/her device? You can hear the strange noise pretty well.
OnePlus support told me it was normal.

Just tried on mine, doesn't have the issue, the support is clearly ****ing with you. If i had this issue, I would just get nuts

Thanks for your reply. I've set vibration to medium as a workaround. It would have been hard to believe every device is doing this ugly noise, especially since you hear it with standard settings for incoming calls.
Nevertheless I'd appreciate any further feedback wether his/ her device is affected or not.
Bro, I'd like to know if this issue got fixed for you? I am commenting because I started noticing this too.

I had to RMA the phone. Unfortunately it's the only solution.
I have 2 days left before my 10-day-replacement policy is over. You're saying, your replacement device doesn't have the issue?
