[official 2.3.5]Volume rocker Wake feature

I've been asked by a friend to modify the official 2.3.5 b526 rom in order to enable the "wake with volume keys feature". It worked ok so I'm sharing it with you i case anyone needs it. It's is not an option, it is by default on. To turn it off flash the NO_volume_wake_526_flashable.zip attached file. It might also work with the other versions of the official 2.3.5 but it wasn't tested on any. It's safe to try as long as you backup first. Please report if you test it and it works!
Download the volume_wake_526_flashable.zip attached file to your device
Boot at recovery
make a backup in case something goes wrong
wipe cache/dalvik cache (don't know if it's must, just in case...)
flash it
test it
To return to normal flash the NO_volume_wake_526_flashable.zip attached file.

Thank you guys for the reports. It would be very useful for others, to say on which version of the official 2.3.5 you applied the patch. If there is a problem with another version I can apply the patch for that.

Maybe it's easier to change the following from "false" to "true" to enable key unlocking screen in the build.prop
ro.config.hw_menu_unlockscreen=false

No, if this works, it enables unlock with MENU key (between BACK and MENU keys)
This patch enables you to wake the screen (not Unlock the phone) by pressing the volume keys... Ideal for anyone with nearly broken power button...

Knock code problem w/video

Hi,
My problem here is the screen registers only the double tap when off. it never registers the code and the only way to do so is to punch it at the lock screen ?? any Ideas ?
I am running german rom D80220d and my phone is contract free and rooted by autorec .

I am not sure if it's a kernel problem since the screen registers the knocks when off but doesn't recognize the code ??!!

you can try going to hidden menu and updating touch firmware(go to dialer and enter 3845#*802# a menu will pop up, inside this menu look for settings>update touch firmware and wait for about 10 seconds) if it doesn't change anything than try a custom kernel with knock code support

Hi all,
this is my first time flashing my G2 D802. So I red a lot of threads about ROMs etc. and I decided to flash Ehndroix. All went smooth but I discovered something strange with MiXplorer - I can´t open it. Always a window shows up for 1 Millisecond and I´m back on the App screen but mixplorer won´t run.
I came from stock, routet with towrelroot, twrp 2700 also installed. Any ideas?

As far as I know (and already tried) there´s no Service Menue in CM11. It´s only available on stock ROM. Or?

Im only getting around 3hours on screen time, worth reflashing or try another rom? It gets really warm from time to time, i think thats the problem.

Any way someone can make a mirror or direct download with proper kernel and everything already adjusted, please. If the DEVs are ok with this. Realy wnat it on my D801.

ROM artefacts
Hi. the artifacts was while installing after CloudyG3 ROM, I think TWRP made incorrect wiping
after that I install CM snapshot made a full wipe again and install this ROM and no more artifacts.

could this rom quick change from notifications to quick toggles by swiping?

I discovered that my display does not wake up again after a call has ended. It stays black or off. This happened to me many times when the call took more time than the display off time (30 seconds in my settings). If I take a call and look after some seconds on my display everthing is ok and display powers on as it used to.
Can anybody confirm this or has a soluton for me?

Yes, i confirm, i have the same thing but you can press the power button to make end the current call, go to -> System settings -> Buttons -> End call.

Thx for the hint, but the usual behaviour should be "display on" when a call ends and I take the phone away from my ear. That should be the preferred solution and not a work-around

Hi guys, I have serius problems with artifacts with this ROM. I also upgraded to the last version but the artifacts are still there. They displays sometimes, when the battery is full and the phone is rebooted the artifacts doesen't display, but after some hours of using of the phone, they start to display, for 1 second or less the screen goes crazy with artifacts and then it came back to normal. But the frequency when the artifacts are displayed increases more and more as the phone is used and it ends with the automatic reboot of the phone.
I don't know if it's a problem of the phone and so I have to send it to the warranty or it's a problem of the ROM.

I´m using Ehndroix now for some weeks - build 2014.10.11 - without any artifacts. In the main therad are also no words about your issue. Did you reinstall the ROM with full wipe? Did you check another ROM if the same behaviour occurs? If yes the problem could be device related and it´s possibly damaged. I would try these steps first to exclude or reduce various error possibilities.

Hi there... just flashed the rom and recognized that there are some less navbar custommizations than in other roms. Change button placement is ok but for me a must have (know that most of u guys doesnt need it ) is a "allways shown menu" button as u can see on the screenshot. Option is available in other roms (except blissroms later than 3.x) like euphoria or rressurectionremix.

The installation instructions are clear and simple. I ask if they are that simple if I'm on KK Cloudy 2.2 on a D800.
Do I follow only those steps? Or do I need to do something else?

I have to say, maaaan, this is the best rom I have ever tested and I been runing it for over a month now and no issues but one.... DoubleTap2Wake doesn´t stick in Kernel Adiutor, I already install the apk on the OP and still nothing, any ideas?
Like I said before, in Kernel Adiutor I select active mode in activation control, than I get out of it, go back and it´s in disable mode again and no matter how many times I do it or how I do it just won´t stick.
Other than that I f***ing love it.

I had the same issue on my D802.
I enabled it first and checking that setting again after reboot it was on disabled but it was working and as stupid as I was I wanted it on enabled.
The way I solved was to clear data of Kernel Adiutor, reboot and set it on enable and never touch it again

It clearly says that the DT2W.2.apk app isn't needed anymore but maybe it's still is for your model.
On previous post what I meant was this:
Clear data of Kernel Adiutor, force stop it in application info (same place where you clear data).
Reboot, then Wake Controls in Kernel Adiutor, enable and Apply on boot. Then just leave it like that.

Phone rings when called but unable to answer

Hopefully this is the correct forum, if not please let me know.
I have tried a couple custom stock XT1575 ROMs. Everything installs great except when my phone is called, the dialer
won't open. I hear my phone ring or vibrate depending on what it is using, just nothing comes up to allow me to answer
it. The latest custom stock ROM I installed today is moto_x_pure_edition_custom_stock_x1575_mphs24.107-58-1_v1-odexed.
Has this happened to anyone else, is it a known problem with the custom stock ROMs? Any help is appreciated. I can't
use the phone so it's just sitting in a corner.

Have you tried puretrue rom . I have flashed 3 roms 2 custom stock Rom and one nexus rom.But never faced this issue . Maybe clean install will help you.

Every time I've installed the ROM, everything was wiped first, including the install I did earlier today.
I've tried a few other ROMs from here, didn't quite like them (not sure if the one you mentioned is one I tried) so wanted to use the custom default Motorola ROM which I liked. They are rooted and have super user. If you know the link to that ROM you mentioned, I don't mind looking into it. Thanks

Go to Settings > Apps > Gear icon > Default Apps > Select 'Telephone' for Phone

Can't believe this is still a thing! This is an old *ss small issue which has been discussed over and over again!

Yes, I understand it's been around a while. I've searched for answers and all the suggestions have not made a difference for me. I have also searched a little on here using different terms but could not find anything either. If you know the answer, can you assist? I understand you may have seen this a few times but not everyone has, like me. I just want to know the fix, is that so bad?

I've already attempted that, didn't help. Tried a new dialer app, didn't make a difference either. Made sure it was the default and that notifications were on for the app also. Thanks

Your described issue seems just the usual "no default phone app selected" , which solution is to just set one. If something else is going on I can't help, I've never encountered other root issues to this (not by experience not by reading). Sorry!
But we could go through this and try troubleshooting.
You are using a custom stock so probably already got root permission.
1) Install logcat or matlog
2) start recording and call your phone right away using a second phone while leaving the screen on
(try upping the screen time to 5 minutes let's say, this way there is no loginfo we are not interested in there beside the call intent)
3) After that, hangup and stop recording the log then share a link to the file here (file ! Don't paste in pls)
Let's hope there is a debug warning or error which will tell us what's actually going on!
On the other side of thing, you do have a XT1575 right ? Or you are using XT1575 Ron on XT1572 ? Not a biggie but quit relevant for modem file!
In the morning I'll give it a look, now I'm heading to bed (2AM here)

Thanks, just got home from work myself. I am using the XT1575. The default phone app is chosen. I'll see what I can
do about the logging suggestions you mentioned. I may not get to that today as I have a few things to do before
heading into work.

Thanks for the assist all of you. I decided to install the TruPureXMM-2.9 ROM and so far I'm liking it. It has a few quirks but the dialer works
from the get go which is the main thing. Those ROMs from the other Moto style installs must have something inherently wrong designed
in them not to work right from the start.
