Have not personally had this problem, but did you try and pop the battery back off, and remove it for a few seconds, then re-install it, and try charging?

I have tried, but that didn't work. I also tried reset the whole phone, but it still stop charging at 35%. When i boot up the phone it say "custom powered by android" and under device status it say "custom". Maybe i can tried put offical vz. firmware, but im not sure it's available for download as of today.

Thanks. I'll check it out.

having the same problem for verizon s5 any updates???
having the same problem for verizon s5 any updates???

im having the SAME DAMN ISSUE!! i know its not the battery or the charger because my gf has a s5 and I tested her battery and my her charger on mine. still nothing! any updates?? S5 is became pretty disappointing

Have any of you messed with the battery settings in field test mode? Specifically, the one that says something like "warning, this will mess up your battery meter"? Sounds like that's what the problem is. Or the solution if that's not what you did.

I didnt know it has that kinda setting on the S5 so my answer to that is no. I flashed 2 different ROMS and it still does the same thing. OEM chargers or 2.0 micro USB nothing. I after buying the S5 i read so many bad reviews its very disappointing and I actually put the S5 away and using the s4 now til i figure this BS out

[Q] Charging issues

I recently purchased my tab and am loving it so far however 1 problem seems to be happening regularly whenever i go to charge it says "charging paused. Battery temperature too high or low"
Now im not really sure how to check the temp(this is my 1st ever android device) but the back of it does not seem hot nor cold , so i was wondering whether or not it is my device or my charger or something.
If anyone else has had this issue or knows whats causing it it'd be great if you could share
Forgot to mention its still stock rom with nothing fancy added

Are you using a wall Charger or a USB charger? I have found that some 3rd party usb wall chargers charge with a different voltage and the tab does not like it, and will either not charge at all or will complain about battery temp
Download an app called elixir and it will tell you temperature stats of your battery. I never experienced such an issue. Discharge the battery completely and recharge it. If you still face such issues and indeed temperatures are up consider returning and exchanging the device.
I downloaded the app it says its -5 celcius. And im using the standard wallcharger that came with the device.

-5 degrees C? you aren't standing outside in alaska are you? normal running temp should be about 29 degrees C. I would have to say that you have a bad device.
Thats weird. Reboot the phone and recheck temp again. If its still stuck something might not be quite right with the temperature sensors.

I tried rebooting but its completely dead now, and still not charging when plugged in.
If it is the sensors i need to send it in then? or there might be another way to fix it? (i really dont trust the tmobile guys i'll probably never get my tab back once i send it in"

Battery status says "not charging" even though it is

When I first got my nexus 7 it said that it was "charging" when I plugged it in. A few hours later I updated the software, and it always says that the battery is "not charging". However, if I press the refresh button on the battery status page in settings, the charge percentage still goes up slowly. Is anyone else having this problem? I can't figure out how to fix it. I'm worried that the battery might keep trying to charge even after it hits 100% capacity, since it thinks that it is "not charging".
N7 displays battery not charging, though it is.

I ran into this problem myself where it displays it's not charging under the battery settings and there is no charge icon in the battery icon in the upper right corner. However it is charging. Anyone know of a fix?
Running 4.1.1
Thanks in advance.
Spoke with Google Customer support today, and they aren't aware of this issue. Think it's an issue with the battery sensor. They are sending me a replacement device.
Le sigh.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll try calling Google tomorrow. Do you need to send your device back first? Or will they send a replacement unit to you first?

I'm having the same problem. Any news on this?
I'm having the exact same issue.
It's weird, because when the tablet is off, then it shows the big charging logo when short-pressing the lock/unlock button.
But still the battery loads OK !
When connecting the charger, loading status of the battery is "disconnected"...
For me the problem persisted for a few weeks then it randomly disappeared, I think after one of the reboots. I first noticed that it resumed working after I charged the Nexus when it was switched off and the big battery sign came on.
Either way, it's probably a software problem so I just ignored it while it was going on...
Its a known software bug. Especially with car chargers. Just check batt level before plugging in then again in a few minutes. You will see its charging regardless of charge indicator.

Well make sure the replacement battery has full charge....and retry ...also insert your battery into another phone and check if its chaging....because usually the phone starts up unless the battery has gone bad....if the phone doesn't switch on...I guess its a hardware issue...which I highly doubt....make sure the wall socket is functional as well....these are little things that could be triggering this...so check everything. ..good luck

Battery issues

My phone's battery level is stuck at 35% and doesn't change on charging it over and over again. Left the phone charging last night and it was still charging at 35% in the morning. However if there's a drop below 35% level it shows on the screen but again charging the phone drains complete battery within a minute or two. The phone gets switched off and starts charging from 0. On switching it on sometimes it again starts draining the battery fast or stuck at some another battery level. Please help what should i do.
I tried reflashing rr rom freshly but it didn't solve the issue. Twrp recovery shows the same battery %.
Screen recorded as below.

Charger or phone faulty, either requires exchange under warranty, take it you are using cable and charger supplied with phone.
Do a factory reset just in case something has screwed up the OS, trying to charge with the phone switched off usually will confirm whether hardware or software problem, ie will not charge when off says its hardware.

I left the phone on charge last night in switch off mode but the battery level shows only 10% in the morning. Internally however it's charged 100% but the level is not showing correctly. Also since I've unlocked the bootloader, the device isn't under warranty.
what a weird battery behaviour!!
Whenever I start charging my phone using stock charger, it drains the battery within minutes instead of charging. Once the battery is completely drained out the battery starts charging from 0% and after a full night of being plugged into the charger it shows partially charged at different level when it's switched on even though it's full.
Is there no way to troubleshoot this or the right way to calibrate the battery?

Contact Moto Service Center hope they will sort out.... Best of luck
Although I think it's a coin toss if it will help, try another charger and a factory reset... Moto service will want you to do a factory reset before sending it in anyway.

Not yet, only solution is getting the battery replaced. Now I've learnt to live with it, since the mobile needs to be restarted after every charge and the % gets stuck at some random value despite being fully charged.

I'll ask for replacement after Christmas holidays. Thank you very much.
I do also have the same problem. It just started a few days ago and sometimes I'd restart the phone and it will fix it and show the actual percentage been charged. But now that isn't fixing it anymore. However, as mentioned before the battery is actually being charged. So let's say it's stuck in 11% and I charge it for a few hours. Then I can use the phone for hours without going below 11%.. but how annoying when it gets there and all of a sudden you are running out of battery ?
Charging with original charger/cable. Do you guys think it might have to do with the turbopower feature?
Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm still under warranty for two more months. But it's always a pain to deal with warranty, you know no phone for a week or more... It would be nice if it can be fixed without going through warranty.

let the battery drain all the way to the 0%. ive had same issue few times with my s7 edge it would not respond to any command no matter what i do, then all of the sudded after i didint touch the phone for abouth 6-7 hours i put it on charge again and 0% was shown and started charging.
most probably its a motherboard issue and should be replaced at least in my case

I'm only telling from my experience, untill your battery is 0 it will be like that presuming it has somewhat same issue as mine . Try pressing buttons from time to time it could help to drain battery faster . On second hand market it should not be more then 40-50 euro. Also AliExpress has motherboards but not new, used

R.I.P S7 edge 2016-2019 will be missed
Same thing ! Phone just totally dead.
The same thing just happened to my S7edge today... I think it's a conspiracy so that we are forced to change the phone.
Sad, I liked that phone.
Nothing would work, it started at first a rebooting loop, then suddenly stopped giving any sense of life.
Doesn't show any indication when plugging the charger. nor responsive to any of the rebooting button combinations...
I even had it on stock Rom and never flashed any customer ROM on it or anything.
I think leaving the phone battery to drain as a solution only works if your phone was already on and it just gave a black screen, but it's still on.
But in my case, it was already in a rebooting loop and I suspect it is not even ON anymore, it just went totally off somehow...
So there is no was to know if the battery is draining.
update:
So I left it overnight. In the morning, I connected the charger and indeed it drained to 0% and started being responsive to charging again.
As soon as it charged to 20% I powered it on. It loaded into recovery, giving the no command screen. Then I went on and selected system reboot.
Then it rebooted and Android started, as soon as I tried unlocking it, it froze and started again into an endless rebooting loop until it blacked out again. Now again not responsive.
I will leave it to drain again. Does anyone know what I shall do when it gets to that endless rebooting sequence. It is obvious that Android had a malfunction... not sure what as I didn't do anything new last week..
Is there a way to get it through without factory reset?
Thanks
