No love for SM-G900H - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

"Based on the total number of births, total number of deaths, net migration rates, and the population of 2013, the current population of the Republic of India is estimated to be about 1,261,527,930"
"Today, the U.S. leads the world in software developers, with about 3.6 million. India has about 2.75 million"
Still waiting for that custom SM-G900H Rom

It looks like india people is actually wanting qualcomm version not exynos eventhough current big little technology is better.
Sent from GT-I9500

Add Latin America to the list as well.
I'm pleasantly surprised with the exynos version.
Still haven't rooted it just in case some of the early adopter quirks appear and I have to ask for warranty.
Sent from my SM-G900H using Tapatalk

Indonesia here.. Waiting for at least one decent custom rom

Add Pakistan as well....the official warranty fones are 900H not the F or I versions...eagerly waiting for the sub forum as was the case for the I-9500 and I-9505

be patience and stay tune...dev from custom rom of s5 f/i/g/ etc
said that until 31 may will we have the custom rom about our device..
sm-g900H

Or if you are really desperate you can take the time to learn to create your own custom rom.

Where/how can I learn do make a rom?

No 900L either

at&t galaxy s ii north american stock ROM

Ive searched these forums all day
but i cant find an At&t north American version Stock version of the ROM
ive checked the threads but theres not any anywhere,
can anyone point a finger to where one is?
I cant make any phone calls right now and its quite annoying
Yeah i second this
Are you talking about the Samsung Galaxy SII (GT-I9100) or the AT&T Version (SGH-I777)? The GT-I9100 aka the international version was never released officially by AT&T in the US and therefore doesn't have a stock ROM. If you are looking for the stock ROM for the SGH-I777 try looking in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1301
If you are just looking for a stock Samsung ROM for the GT-I9100 try looking in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Do make sure you know which version you have before you flash anything, flashing the wrong ROM will likely brick your phone.
Yeah I know old thread, but may help someone in the future. There are some cellular service providers selling the GT-I9100 phone for North American users. You can find stock firmware for the 9100 on the samfirmware web site under; Firmwares>smartphone>Andriod>GT-I9100>North America
Make sure your device is a true I9100 and not a 9100G,9100P or 9100T device since there are no stock North American firmwares for those models Some are Carrier branded and other are not. Choose what you need. Choices are limited though for us in NA and using the I9100. The UHKG7 rom works well on my phone. Nothing there for AT&T though, so the post above is probably your best answer.

[Q] S5 changing Kernel

Dear All
This is my first time to post and use XDA, so please guild me and give me a hand. thanks

Snapdragon 805,
3GB ram
Kernel version (3.10.0-1916255
Baseband
G906SKSU1ANFF
i am now facing to a problem that because its a Korea version and i am locate in Hong Kong, there are many Hong Kong local Samsung's feature i can not use and also are different then what i had with my S4 which i found it hugely inconvenience, such as the Keyboard's input are not the original, the watch on function is not working in my area, some korean words which i dont understand keep on poping up.

Well according to Samsung this phone doesn't exist. Samsung swore up and down that there would be no S5 prime released.
But anyway, your idea to use the kernel from the existing S5 is exceedingly unlikely to work. You can't just transplant a stock kernel from a different model. The kernel may be nearly identical, but you have to expect at least a few differences in system level drivers and addressing which is enough to cause serious problems. An expert could probably recompile and port the kernel over, but this phone was just released and I doubt that anyone has done anything like that yet.
There probably isn't Chinese or English firmware for this model, but you check on that just in case. Also see if there is Chinese or English support in the current firmware. Failing that, you may be able to install an English or Chinese custom ROM. Once one is released that is. There is probably enough interest in the premium hardware for someone to tackle that.
Realize that you bought a Korean market only device, at least for the moment and unless Samsung releases it to more markets or a programmer takes it on as a project.. you don't have a lot of options. Hazards of being an early adopter and /or not researching your options in advance.
Also, few people outside of Korea will have any firsthand knowledge of this phone yet, so we don't know a lot of details e.g. if the bootloader is locked or much else.

Which american S5 is compatible with Canadian W8?

I've searched for the answers to this to some extent. I had the S3 which was compatible with the AT&T 747, but the question is, is there a compatible US model for the S5? Can I flash stock ROMS for the G or F, say?

I believe you want a phone that supports 1700Mhz and 2600Mhz which is band 4 and 7. That covers the 3 amigos (bell, telus, rogers).
Looking at the Galaxy s5 specs that would be G900A (At&t), G900M(Vodafone), G900T (Tmobile).
I would post the links but this site won't let me.
Supposedly all s5's have a fully populated radio so only limitation if any is firmware anyways and there are procedures on this site how to change that now. So in theory any s5 can be made to work. If not please correct me.
I do recall that when 4.3 started leaking for the s3 there was bootloader issues that made them very unfriendly together between AT&T and Canadian. Does anyone know if these bootloaders are still an issue?
Wow it really is amazing how many people DON'T search or have any urge in their mind to find out the answers themselves. If you'd of just searched the boards instead of making this thread you would have your answer, but that would be too easy I guess so why not get spoon fed??

He you condescending prick. I've helped countless people around here. My thanks to posts ratio is about triple yours. So yeah, I read. And for once in years i took the lazy way. So feel free to take your head out your ass look at my profile and see the countless people I've helped along the way, and just answer the fu(king question instead of being a pompous douche. Unless of course you don't know sh!t and just wanna roll through finding the easy troll posts.
So at any time, feel free to be part of the XDA community for what it is and assist someone instead of being a ****.

You are safe to flash all CUSTOM 900f roms (Non Odin Flashable) .
You can only flash 900w8 STOCK ROMS (Odin flashable)
As for Bootloaders, you can only flash 900w8 variants, for example,my carrier is Sask tel, but I use the latest Puerto Rico bootloader and it's no problem. So as long as its for a 900w8 it should be OK. Always double check to make sure any advise given is accurate and you don't pay the price. Just saying..

Note 4 SM-N910C Lollipop Update?

Hi everyone. I know that this question has probably been asked before and there are perhaps a few threads on the same topic so I apologize if this seems repetitive.
I have an unlocked Note 4 the 910C (Exynos 5 Octa) and I have been checking for the Lollipop update - but every time I do it says my software is up to date (KitKat 4.4.4). I am using the device in the United States on T-Mobile Network. This is my first unlocked device.
I know Lollipop has pushed out to 910C devices but I am confused as to which one I should download. There are updates from Poland, Asia and so on. I have tried Kies and through there it also says my device is up to date. With so many different variants it becomes confusing. So I don't know if it hasn't been pushed out yet or if I have to do it manually.
Any help is appreciated and once again thanks for your patience with a relatively newbie member such as myself.

My n910c exynos 5 octa core is xme malaysian carrier and i still have not receive any sort of update. Just today my siblings using n910f got another update of 84mb after 5.1.1. It breaks my heart to write that samsung is really not treating their customers how they should. I do not want to take any chances to brick my phone using odin or other methods of rooting. But certainly ask for insights from the senior members what should i do now? And certainly i am not expecting marshmallow too. Since i doubt all the carriers will get it. Articles from the internet tells me samsung is already working for n910f marshmallow. What about the n910c exynos 5 octa core? Will we ever get any sort of advantage to boost our 64 bit cores to it's potential?

you phone should have at least android 5.0 by now
No still running stock 4.4.4 Kitkat ?
KitKat is better than Lollipop. Trust me.
Yeah but still you know when your siblings brag about their mighty snapdragon you want to show off too.. plus why won't exynos get it?
