Ok I got my phone and signed up and got a Tmobile sim today and at home I use wifi and on stock my wifi and signal take forever to turn blue and just stay grey. When they finally turn blue I still can't connect on the play app it just times out everytime. Websites load fine but not play, I even unlocked and rooted and flashed cm10.1 and had the same problem. I try to use my data and it does the same thing but at my house I only get E so I don't know.

Possibilities:
+bad and/or cable connection => try with another wifi network
+bad radio => try somewhere with good 3G connections.
If you can't connect at all, time to RMA.

My wifi works fine on my laptop and my galaxy nexus. I won't be in a area with good data until tomorrow. Even if that works and my wifi still doesn't should I call google? I don't know what RMA means exactly or what to do if I need too.
Even if your laptop and galaxy nexus works fine, it can still be the router. I think it is worth to try.
If wifi or data does work, definitely call Google. RMA = return merchandise authorization. short for: return the sexy phone

Looks like thats what I'm going to have to do as I can't get any connection with my wifi or my data and I know my sim and tmobile work fine. What should I do call the playstore devices section and tell them that?

Do you have access to the play store on your galaxy nexus with your wifi connection? I had a similar problem and it appeard that I had to lower MTU value from 1500 to 1400 :

No, now my wifi won't do anything. It stays grey, I could never load the playstore for some reason.

ok, so i bought a nexus 10 today from walmart brought it home power it up and wont connect to wifi...every device in my household will connect to my wifi except this device so i take it back to wal-mart exchange it for a new one bring the second one home connects to the wifi but stays gray....so i say screw it ill just unlock it and root it and flash a 4.2.2 rom and it will work...NOPE!...flashed three different roms and it does the same thing it connects but stays gray cant use the play store cant use the internet nothing!! idk if im missing something or what but i downloaded and flashed rasbean jelly and the trinity kernel 10 all over top of 4.2.1 but i did a clean install...same combo on my N4 no problems what so ever.it bums me out if anyone can help in any way it would be much appreciated.....also i found some wifi binaries in the n10 index thread they are tgz file and when i extract them it turns into a shell script file and i have zero clue how to flash that through fastboot im hoping that thats the problem im just missing those binaries. one more thing i have comcast internet the fastest you can get from comcast but i dont have a router so idk if thats my problem too i wouldnt think so!!:/

Tried but the internet won't let me....so I walked down to Tim Horton's to try ans use there wifi see if it was my internet same thing but it let me log in and still stayed gray

Yes it connects but it stays gray and still can't use internet or anything I even changed the IP address to the IP address my other Asus tea let was using and nothing I don't get it:-/ I saved up money since it was released to get it...I payed 573 dollars for it I called Google smasung nobody will help me cause I bought it from a third party vendor. Its not my wifi cause evrything else connects...i ended up returning it and getting a nexus 7 but i found a walmart that jusy got a shipment in 2 days ago so im gonna try getting it again and seeing if it works if it dont then ill just go back and grtthe nexus 7 again. Idk what else to do! Any other ideas from anyone is also appreciated and im very thankful for the help.
It happened to me afew times. Every other devices connected to wifi but nexus 10 is in gray. Reset the router and all fine.

OK I'll try that but I have Comcast modem with the built in router so it should work right? Or do you suggest I go get a separate router?....and if so what kind should I get?

Now i can't call anymore, also no internet/data connection no incoming calls.
Now i have a new SIM card but it still doesnt work, my SIM card can not register on the network provider.
So please who can help me with this? I'am now trying for over a week now but still nothing....

First, check your apn. Then provide more info. What firmware are you on? How did you root it,etc.

rooting will not kill your network connection. that's something that you did. you need to provide a LOT more information in order to have people help you out,
what ROM are you on, what settings did you change, what mobile carrier are you on, etc. etc. this is a simple fix, but we need to know what caused it first. :good:

Sorry guys im kinda n00b in this scene..
But what i know is this:
Android Jellybean 4.3
Mobile provider: Tele2
And mobile settings i didn't change..
I rooted with Odin and CF Root.
Didn't install any other rom or anything.
From one moment in another the network was gone and till today i cant connect to it.
Please help!!

In settings, wireless and networks, more, Mobil networks, access point names make sure something is checked there.

Well the person above me said it. You just made a mountain out of a mole hill by giving out your imei to everyone on xda. Anyway, have you tried a factory reset? If that doesn't work take it to Best Buy and tell them Kies wrecked havoc on your device and they can re-flash your phone for free. Don't tell them it was your fault.

I don't know what the problem is but you should be able to flash the stock firmware in Odin and get your phone working again. Double check this in the i9500, i9505, i9505G S4 forum. You can get the stock firmware from sammobile.com

He should be able to flash it himself. The i9505 is not locked down like the i337. It's an international version so he probably can't take it to best buy, which is what I was responding to.

I have the stock rooted i337 (AT&T), running on another provider network. I am aware that i337 is very difficult to do modifications due to the built-in by AT&T vicious locks to prevent using it with other network providers. This is the reason I did not flash ROM, because I am afraid to get my phone bricked and lose it entirely. Recently I subscribed to a data plan from a third party provider and I have 4G in the status line and HSPA in the data type, but I still did not have internet connection when WiFi was disabled, except that my Hotmail somehow worked. No other apps requiring internet worked. I spent a week researching the issue myself as well as working with the provider's tech support, but nothing worked. Two days ago, almost out of despair, I installed a new app called Opera Max, which is developed to route the unencrypted data to their Virtual Private Network in order to compress it and save the data use. As soon as I connected to VPN, all applications started working. I still have to turn Opera Max off when I use WiFi, because it disconnects my WiFi every few minutes, claiming that WiFi signal is too low. (My signal is very strong and no other devices have any issues with WiFi). However, this is a minor problem, considering that Opera Max saved my data plan.
It is still a mystery to me why Hotmail worked, but no other apps and why using Opera Max VPN solved the problem. If anybody has ideas, I will be happy to hear.
I must say that all data settings, including APN are checked, rechecked and correct, so this was not the issue.

I am also having connection issues after rooting my S4 i9505:
I am on a Telcel (Mexico) which is supposed to support 4G connections... However, ever since I rooted I can only access 2G/GSM networks. I have the official APN network configuration and I have tried two roms but still no luck...
Any advice would be most welcome.
I purchased the blue S4 from Best buy about a month ago. It lasted 3 days and then started giving me errors (like authentication error occurred or disconnected due to slow network) when using my Wifi on the 5ghz band only. The 2.4ghz always seems fine. I have to use 5ghz though because our baby monitor kills the 2.4ghz band. I took it back to Best buy got another one. That one lasted about 17 days and then I started to get the same Wifi issue.
So last night I went back again and got another one. The Wifi issue started within hours. Im on my 3rd one now.
I have reset the router to factory. I tried with an open network (no password required) and still get the same errors.
To top it off, my wife has the purple S4 and she has no issues at all.
I'm torn at what to do. Get a 4th one, try another color, or go back to the htc one.

I've been getting the same error lately as well. I just picked up my dual band router thinking it'd be a good update from my old 802.11g one. I'm not sure it's the phone or some settings I have to dig through to make things work?!
Pretty annoying right now though.

I picked up my 4th S4 tonight. So far it's going well. I had them give me the oldest one they could find. It had 4.2.2 on it. I updated to 4.3 but im afraid to take the MK2 update. That may be what kills the wifi.

Well I'm on MJ7 and have these issues. . My other Sprint s4 is on MK2 and same deal so. . That article posted above says to check router settings. I didn't get a chance to yet myself I worked way to late last night

I read somewhere that turning off WMM cuts your router speed down to 54mb
Here is another update. Im now on my 4th one. It started dropping the 5ghz band again so i took the mk2 update. Still cant stay connected to the 5ghz ban.
So tonight i took back my netgear n900 router and upgraded to the netgear ac6300. Nice router but no change. It connects fine to 2.4 but not 5.
My wifes purple s4 still is cruising along without problems on 5ghz.
I have been trying to duplicate this issue in my home, I have not been able to except when I use the same channel as my neighbor. Have any of you used WIFI Analyzer from the Market to make sure you are not receiving drops due to another carrier over riding your own? Also, if you have a ROKU 3 in your home check the channel as well, I have seen this cause some problems. My channel is on 161 with with QOS WMM support on.

I did use WIFI Analyzer and I don't have anyone around me with 5ghz networks to even worry about. Last night with the new router, I updated to the latest firmware, tried WMM on or off, tried with and without a password, and I tried multiple channels. I could not connect to 5ghz for the life of me.
Logged into the 2.4ghz and it connected in less than a second. I just don't get it.
I'd like to find out why this happening too. I've played around with all the router settings as well and no dice. I have a netgear ac1200 and it'd be nice to use the 5ghz

Guys, I've been having the same issue and just gave up a few months ago, just working off the 2.4. I realized it's not the router, when I was in the car trying to use the Hotspot and no one could connect. They were able to before all this started. After fiddling with it for quite a while I realized that it was transmitting at 5ghz. I switched to 2.4 and everything came up. Definitely the phone.
I got the same problem with my note 3 (n9005) on every rom since 5.0.
I can see the AC WiFis, but I'm unable to connect. It makes no difference, choosing another channel or trying it in another network.
The behaviour: it tries to connect, (connecting..) after not even a half second, it just falls back into the state like I newer tried to connect (password is saved, and it don't says, it's a wrong password entered.) If I enter a wrong password, it tells me to reenter the correct password.
Any suggestions, what it could be?..

I am currently having issues with my showbox on my Verizon Note 3. For some reason the app refuses to update and I am forced to uninstall and reinstall in order to get the most recent movie/show listings. On top of that, when I reinstall, I ALWAYS get an error msg when the app initially tries to download the movie/show list. It says "network error check Internet connection." I do not understand what the problem is because at the time my Internet always works fine on 4g. Finally, I am only able to download the most recent movie/show listings 1 time after initial install and that is when I am at home on wifi. After the initial update it goes back to not updating. My phone is not rooted, although my friend went through all the steps and then found out that bc of my baseband version, the phone could not be rooted. Is there any chance that attempting to root messed up some settings that are causing me to have this problem? I am running android 4.4.2. Any advice or help is greatly greatly appreciated. Also, I've been trying to find a way to contact the developer but haven't had any luck? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks again for all the help!!

Uninstall it and then get it from their website. That's the only way it works for me when that happens.

Today it updated when I was on my home wifi. What is the website to download the app?
Mine only updates on WiFi. ..also I get it to update by clicking into some of the movies

Verizon has this application's host server blocked in their firewall. I hear t-mobile, and AT&T aren't far behind...
I use shoebox daily on my note 3 and it's not blocked at all... I'm rooted and I just hit the back button everytime the update dialog pops up. Causing the pool up to go away... Back to showbox viewing then... Mine updates the movie or shows on either wifi or data... I did update a few months back when app broke though... I searched it on Google

What version is it?
Tried Uninstaller and reinstalling new app from website. Still getting "server error check Internet connection" while I'm at home on WiFi . Believe it or not it only has updated when I'm at work. Very strange. Any ideas?
So i just downloaded the app and you're right it does have the connection error.
I decided to run some tests on my work ATT wifi it wasn't loading but when i turned off wifi and used my Verizon 4g it loaded.
So i went back to wifi because i am not on an unlimited verizon plan to be downloading all these files, and it works.
I was able to recreate it on a tablet so i believe only the inital sync of the app is needed on a network not on ATT after that you can use the app normally.
Give it a try and see how it does work.
1st open the app on a non ATT network then switch over to the ATT wifi you're using.

I tried showbox and I really liked it but it comes up as a threat in any Antivirus app.
I really don't know much about it but would like to know more.
I just don't need any frauds getting my info off my phone.
If it's all good to use can anyone explain the permissions. Location and a few others kind of made me worry. Plus my GPS was searching the whole time I had the app open.

I keep reading downloading it but once it's open I get a request to update to a newer version and get an update error message. If I click on a movie it says server error. Can someone please PM me a better download link! Much appreciated!
