[help] red light, plz help <<Solved>> - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello all,
i have a nexus 4 whit 4.4.2, mahdi rom last build and the AK karnel; I run antutu and my phone went into a coma, no button combos were working and when I plugged in my phone I got the flashing red ligh ( like my video)
plz any one can help my??
i have traid this but no result :crying::crying::crying:
1. Unplug phone from charger
2. Press and hold the volume UP button plus power button for 60 seconds.
3. Release buttons.
4. Plug into charger
5. Wait about an hour for it to charge.
That's it. This is a documented and published fix from LG and Google. The pressing of the buttons does something to simulate a battery pull - probably some sort of flushing of any remaining current out of the phone or tripping some sort of e-fuse like feature.

tell my if there is another solution aside from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/final-fix-nexus-4-red-light-death-t2250454

You're phone looks still to be active. Just press the power button on for 10 seconds.
Hopefully it should start.

you will need to remove the battery and charge it for at least half hour, then connect it back to the phone.
check this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/final-fix-nexus-4-red-light-death-t2250454

Leave the phone on the charger for an hour....your battery may be completely drained to 0%
my friend's asus memo pad turned itself off from 60% to 0% because of wakelocks and it took it 1 hour to fill up from 0% to 5%

I was afraid of this method! but I played all out
the point is that my phone is saved!
thank you very much to you too

I'm glad your Nexus is still alive. Cheers

bricked? red flashing led

Just got my nexus 4, and after it was left in cwm for about 10 minutes (while I was making breakfast) it went to a black screen and now just the red led notification led is flashing whenever plugged in, and on my mac in system profiler it shows "composite device", any suggestions?
Thanks!

Don't know if you want to do this, but you can open the phone and disconnect and reconnect the battery connector...
What was your battery level, I know in other devices some times the CPU(s) run at full speed in recovery allowing for quicker flashing this could discharge the battery rapidly. Also a flashing red LED when plugged in normally means the phone is charging but doesn't have enough charge to reliably turn on, leave it plugged in for about 15 minutes and try turning it on again.
Try holding down the VOL + and - keys along with the powerbutton (after turning it off by holding down the power button for an extended time) and see if you can get into fastboot. My friend's Nexus 4 kept bootlooping after he unlocked the bootloader but booted straight to CWM after, not letting it erase userdata first.

I have no problem doing this, the phone seems easy to disassemble, looks alot like a overgrown iPhone 4, 2 screws on the bottom. I just hope its an easy slide, I don;t want to mar it in case I have to exchange it.

I thought this as well, its been plugged in for at least an hour now.
Oh and now I don't even get the red led!
good times..
I've got the exact same issue. Plugged it in last night to charge and this morning it wouldn't turn on. Plugged and unplugged it and the red LED starts flashing. After a minute or so I'm getting the battery charge animation on the screen - so the red LED is power related. Now to see if it actually charges up and boots.
Hi nycbjr. I have seen a similar issue posted here, but I can't find the thread at the moment, try searching. If I remember correctly then he got it working by holding power, volume keys and then plugging in the charger.

Here seems to be a similar thread, maybe you'll find help there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111947

[Q] Nexus 10 (16Gb) completely bricked

- Steps to reproduce the problem.
I have seen a couple of other freeze ups from time to time, rather randomly, in various apps, not just Chrome.
In this case, I clicked the "All Apps" button in the lower right corner, and it froze.
- What happened.
The system froze, and then the screen went black. Now I am completely unable to restart the tablet. I does not matter how long I hold down the power button, either alone or combined with the volume up/down, it remains bricked. While connected to USB, it will show the battery charging icon in the middle of screen every 10 seconds (stays on for ~3 seconds) while I'm holding down the power button.
As of now the tablet is basically dead.
The tablet was running Android 4.2.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Power with volume up and down at the same time til you hit fast boot?

I know this will sound stupid, but are you sure you have battery?
Or try to hold the power button for about 20 seconds until N10 vibrates. That's it.

Thanks for replying but after me thinking it was broken for 2 months it suddenly turned on on its own last night!
Not really sure what was wrong to begin with but when it turned on I had 0% charge for a few hours, really strange.
Same issue for me on 32Gb model.
I had a flicker screen once last week and today it doesn't boot up. I connected it for an hour but all I get is the fully charged battery icon when I press the power button, sometimes with a flicker screen or red/blue/green dots all over the place. It doesn't vibrate, it's not recognized by my Windows 8 computer.
I bought it through the eBay US deals and it sucks cause I'm in Europe...:crying:
Call +18553926398 from Skype. It is a Samsung Nexus Repair Center. From Skype it's free of charge line. I had problem with battery in my nexus 10 32gb. I had to send it to US on my cost. I spend on it (from Poland to the US) about 70euro(by UPS), from the US to Poland about $50 (by DHL). But Nexus came back repaired on warranty and it took about 1 week only. It easy and It worth to try. Important: Samsung Repair Center can send your fixed Nexus only to the US (to the US it's for free), so I used MyUS.com for 'a proxy' to send it to Poland (and this part cost about $50).

2 possible solutions, first is the easiest.
1. While it's plugged in to charger and the battery is showing hold in power and up/down volume buttons together for about 5 seconds after battery disappears and release power while continuing to hold up/down volume until recovery comes up.
If your warranty has expired then try second option
2. Open it up and disconnect battery, hold power for 10 second then reconnect and power up.
AW: [Q] Nexus 10 doesn't boot anymore
Hmm, first solution doesn't work, but it once vibrated and the screen blinked for a short moment when I plugged it in after some time, unfortunately I can't reproduce it :/
I already rooted so I might have no warranty at all anymore but if it is a hardware bug they have to repair, or?
I bought it last December.
At least my friend got his rooted i9300 replaced without any cost when it got sudden death.
Actually don't know what to do now :/

OMG, I knew that charging does take long, but it needed 3 hours to get enough juice just to boot up
It did boot, but shows 0 percent battery ^^
I'm gonna charge it the whole night without shutting it down, let's wait until for tomorrow
Nevertheless thank you for your advices

Just send over if all solution not working, don't talk anything on root.
Sometimes they don't care, or don't know.
At least I had send for repair for Nexus One & S III before, and both was root.
AW: [Q] Nexus 10 doesn't boot anymore
Well, it does work now again but only shows 5% battery after 6 hours charging with wall.
Gonna send it in nevertheless, if they ask for root I'll just flash stock and send it

My observation leads me to believe that this is typical for a battery that has been left on with a completely discharged battery. But it shouldn't take an hour.
My thinking is that this is product of bigger batteries and higher current requirements. Although I'd like to hear from someone if holding down the power button will start the device in spite of very low charge.

I ran antutu benchmark and the phone automatically rebooted. I ran it again, and got forced closed. Now It won't boot up. In all honesty, you were probably right there, but you just didn't let it charge enough. I had a rlod the other day, I must've done it good this time because I had to let it charge for almost an hour before it would power back up. I can't remember though, if it actually chargers when the red light is lit, or if you need to unplug it and plug it back in so that it's plugged in with no red light, no power on, or anything. Let it charge while of with the red light on for about 20 mins. Then fiddle with it, unplugging and plugging back in, until you can get it to stay plugged in without powering it up or the red light coming on. Let it charge for about 20 mins like this too. Unplug it. Turn it on. Plug it back in immediately after seeing the google logo, let it finish booting and finish charging and you should be good. I've had around 5 - 7 rlod (mostly all my fault) and this method has worked every single time. I've never opened or rma'd my phone.

What's QHUSB_DLOAD mode?
If the phone is completely powered off, your computer shouldn't even know when you plug it in, it shouldn't pop up with any messages at all. What your getting sounds a bit like the message people get when their phone is hard bricked, except reading from your first post, you havent done anything at all to even get close to a hard brick. Try holding your power button for 30 seconds. A real 30 seconds, count it out. When I turn my phone back on from the rlod (after doing all my rlod steps in the previous post), sometimes I have to hold the power button for a god awful long time, it has to be close to a full minute. Your phone might be frozen on some lower level (locked up bootloader maybe?) and might require holding the power button that long as well.

Well i have been writing about this. In short you have to disconect the battery, and try to boot it again.fist try to hold the volume down when conecting the charger, it will restart bootloader , select to start. f that doesnt work, you have to disconect the battery, and wrtie an factory image ( nexus 4 occam ) . Try to boot the phone first when disconecting the battery, before writing the factory img. GL
