Hi,
After using LG G2 with official KitKat update for a couple of weeks without issues (except the headphones noise problem) last few days I noticed the battery was draining very fast ( from a couple of days usage to 10-12 hours usage). I did a factory reset and surprise : couldn't connect to Wifi after reset (I get continuous Wifi ON/OFF and if I select a Wifi network I don't have time enough time to enter the password until Wifi disconnects again ) . After a few tries without any luck connecting to my Wifi router I enabled Bluetooth on mobile and the Wifi connection started to work perfectly. The problem is the phone is discharging very fast (even after factory reset) and gets very hot.
What should I do ?
Regards,
Mike

My HTC HD has WIFI Problem: WiFi will not turn on most of the time.
After tapping the Wi-Fi Switch (in Communications Tab) it hangs for about 7 seconds then stops.
Sometimes after 6 seconds the wifi Icon will appear for 1/2 a second but then disappears.
The only way I can get it to connect at all is if the device is cool and I remove the battery for a while....
...Then restart it and Wi-Fi will switch on sometimes (but fail most of the time).
I have flashed the ROM (by different Cookers) many times, Hard Reset the device many times, and used all different power settings: Still no good.
If error reporting is ON I get error message "device.exe' problem.
As I live in Australia I would have to pay heaps for freight if I send it back to UK so I'm loath to do so.
Anybody know what should I do to fix it?
(PS. My old Diamond connects every time)
I have a similar WiFi connectivity problem, but after reading of the poor service provided by most vendors and HTC itself, I will try to gather some more experience with the problem before I contact HTC or my vendor, and hopefully find a solution. Bellow is my experience so far:
I own an HTC Touch HD since January and have a similar problem, only it surfaced last week. Before I had only used the WiFi connectivity briefly. The problems started after I installed an AP on my house expressively for the new PDA. The node is fully open and set to B/G/N protocols.
After a couple days of medium (couple hours per day) use the WiFi connection suddenly quit, the device would try to connect (the top bar showing the WiFi connection animation continuously) and after a few moments gave up with a dialog box stating the current network settings were wrong (even thou they worked fine a few hours earlier).
I tried several hot and cold resets, but only solved the problem after flashing a new ROM; even then the same symptoms reappeared after a couple of days of regular use. Again no re-setting would cure the problem, and now not even flashing the ROM again would work. Nonetheless, some hours latter the WiFi would connect perfectly with the same nodes it refused to before, and in very short time.
I have witnessed this cycle twice and have yet not been able to find a trigger for it, but will keep my eyes open for any tell tale signs, and post any findings here.
What I found out is that If you are using CommManager in TF3D together with other wifi mgr it screws up the wifi. Either you use CommManager or you use 3rd party one but not both at the same time.
Agreed!
Yes I agree completely; something on the permanent storage area got corrupted last week after I installed WiFi Monster (which I like, and recommend, only not at the same time as the standard connection manager).
I managed to get the WiFi conection working again (if only for a couple of days...) by doing the Start>Settings>Clear Storage thing and following the re-install.
Ok, so at least now I know of one more thing that can screw up th HD's WiFi besides itself!
i cant connect to my wifi in my same bedroom !!!
Enhancing WiFi performance
If you get very low range, or frequent connection interruptions, it might help to go to: Settings>Connections>Wi-Fi>Advanced>Power Mode and set it to "Best Performance"
PS. I wonder if anybody gets intermittent WiFi problems like myself. One day it works perfectly, the next it will not connect showing a dialog box: "Warning Cannot connect to the network. Check your network and service provider settings and try again"
Hi
I have a problem about accessing internet using wifi. I connect to network, it's ok. But after nearly 30 seconds i cant access internet anymore. My phone says everything is ok, i am connected to my modem, my internet connection is ok but i cant use it on my HD before turning off- and on- my wifi. But i can only use internet for a short time again.
I tried hard reset but everythings is still the same. I am using BlackstoneHenge max stability&speed rom.
So what causes that problem? What should i do?
have you tried turning off your router and turning it back on after a few minutes ?
also try and set the wifi signal strength of the blackstone to performance and not battery. that way, the signal will be stronger and probably not drop. i had the same issue yesterday after flashing another rom, without setting it to full performance, the wi-fi would constantly drop signal and even when i was connected, it would not access the internet properly.
thanks chef_tony and mjuksel
i disabled power save mode of wifi and set to performance mode as you suggested. my problem looks solved now, thanks so much
Solved, thread closed
I sent my note 3 (sim free n9005) to repair one month ago because a sensor didn't work (another story). Now the sensor problem has been fixed. But there is another issue. The wifi keeps dropping. I mean wifi is completely turned off on my phone, then it tries to turn on, and off again... I have googled a while,it's not the wifi is slow, it's the wifi is completely turned off then it tries to turn it on, and keeps turning on and off. At first it happens occasionally and it can be turned on. Until several days ago, wifi could not be turned on at all. If I go into setting - connection - wifi, I will see it says 'turning on' but nothing happens. Reboot helps sometimes but the issue soon reappear. I did factory reset but no use. I would think it's the phone's problem. But When I go outside and test in public wifi (university wifi, MacDonald etc), it got no problem at all. So I began to think maybe there is something with the router. So I turned off my router, the wifi is turned on immediately and I can see all the wifi connections from my neighbours.
My router is virgin media netgear vmdg485 (100M fiber optical). I googled it, it seems specially made for Virgin media. It's a modem/router all-in-one device. Just wondering has anyone else got similar experience? B.T.W all other devices in my home connect to the wifi no problem at all. I think they may have upgraded my android software on the repair. I never had this problem before the repair. But android is the latest version (checked in settings). So I don't know what option I have on software side. Probably I need to try a new router?
And also I have tried everything I found on Internet (turn off switch network etc in advanced setting in wifi. turn off power saving for wifi, disable wifi direct/share, etc).

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my note and was advised to go into the wifi settings and deactivate "Scanning always available" and "Auto network switch".
I had this problem with a Virgin media router and where android was under the impression the connection was unstable it was deactivating the wifi to go back to the cellular.
This may be completely wrong but it solved it for me.
Hope this helps!
I had this issue and the only thing that solved it was a factory reset.
I had a similar problem with my Note 3 (SM-N9005) and Virgin Superhub 1
I hadn't previously noticed problems with wi fi at home when using different phones in the same location.
After much reading on support forum I concluded that many Superhub users believe the device is not very effective when operating as both a cable modem + wi fi router.
I opted for an expensive solution of buying a new wi fi router.
My Superhub now operates just as a cable modem and is connected via ethernet cable to the adjacent Asus RT-AC66U which does have the advantage of 802.11 ac.
Speed test result from Note 3 via wi fi setup described above.

Thanks paul, mine is super hub as well. I want to get a router to test, but worring if it doesn't solve the issue.
wow, that router is a lot of money, really hope it's not the router issue.
Hi all,
I noticed a weird problem after I installed the latest Marshmallow update on my N910F. The WiFi will not connect as soon as I'm in range anymore, but it will connect immediately when I switch on the display.
I noticed the behavior because I configured a Tasker task that will wake up my PC as soon as I connect to my home WiFi. The last two days I noticed my PC was off when I came home so I switched on my phone and saw that the WiFi was not connected, I was home for 10-15 Minutes. A view seconds later after I switched on the display WiFi started to connect (and my PC also woke up because of my Tasker task).
Once the WiFi connection is established it will stay stable - I checked my router logs, so turning off the display will not disconnect the WiFi. Of course I set my WiFi to stay connected in standby.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
I was having issue not this kind but whenever i diconnect to my wifi and then again teconnect it again it takes time to surfing the internet about 2 minutes.when i open browser and any site it first shows connection time out then i have to wait 1-2 minutes then it loads the site.i dont know i have noticed new settings under development setting there is network setting in there there are lots of option.one option is connect to lollipop dhcp .i tried to check and uncheck that also but didnt work out.

Today it did not switch on my display when I came home but waited to see how long it would take my Note 4 to connect to my WiFi. After 25 Minutes it connected. I wonder if this is some "doze" feature.
My Wi-Fi disconnects & reconnects all the time on this device.
I'm sitting 4 feet away from my router with no walls or steel sheeting between us.
I have attempted some router changes to manual Bands & this hasn't helped at all.
Is this a known issue for this device like the early shutdowns & battery issues ?
Are there any networking diagnostic Android apps that will track disconnects & give me info in a nice format that isn't hundreds to thousands of lines long ?
This has happened to me SEVERAL times after a factory reset or flashing stock. I have factory reset my modem/router and that hasn't worked but what did work was simply unplugging my router/modem and plugging it back in. Strange but true.
