You do have wifi on and I'm assuming data is enabled behind that. 30% drop in 7-9 hours(however long you slept) isn't that bad considering this is still stock experience?

Phone radio is exactly what it, and the icon in front of it that is identical to the signal bars icon, say: The phone's signal receiver. The one that connects you to the network.
You turn data off by switching off the Mobile Data (and WiFi if you want to turn off WiFi) toggles in the notification bar....
Is this your very first smartphone, by any chance?
there is nothing in setting showing 2G, the only thing i found to turn off data was in Settings - Data Usage -Mobile Data and i checked it off.

it has not 2g but gsm dude..i just explained you that gsm=2g
Go to settings, more networks, mobile networks, then network mode, choose gsm.. Make sure you turn it back on or your data speeds will be slow as hell.. Personally I would just charge it overnight and not bother.

Shows Wi-Fi scans are killing my battery and I have my Wi-Fi turned off. I bought this phone off line (swappa) and I thought everything was great. Looked good, worked great. Then I'm getting USB errors and no PC can see the phone. And MASSIVE battery drain. I unplugged the phone this morning. Put it in airplane mode left it on the desk. Came home and the phone was below 20% just sitting here. (10 hours) the phone is not rooted and I can't root because no USB access. Any suggestions? I've reset phone twice. Disabled all software possible. The phone has dropped 1% typing this message!?!?

Sounds defective. I'd exchange for a new G2 if you're in your exchange period

did u turn off location services in setting see if it helps
Yes. I'm really confused. I think I may have unfortunately bought a dud. It's unfortunate really. If I could get the USB to work I could root and go from there but it's pretty much a paper weight right now. Can't use a phone that's dead in a few hours of not even using it. Hehe.
Thanks for your reply! I really do appreciate all suggestions.

hi guys,
im troubleshooting my battery problem on this phone. just need some thoughts.
the drain is over 2%/hr when the phone is in sleep with flight mode on and nfc on.

the day before i tried this with the network on nfc on, data and wifi off and the consumption was about the same.
i have yet to try flight mode on and nfc off, but i wouldn't think that nfc would use that much.
i use greenify to put a lot of apps to hibernate so they wont wake the phone.
starting to think my battery isnt performing right anymore.

17% in 6.5hrs, airplane mode, no nfc.
the phone is definitely going to sleep.
i could leave the network on and nfc too, difference isnt big at all.
any idea is appreciated. leaning towards bad battery here..
Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk 2
Why not remove all the extra apps, and see if anything changes. Then, you can install one by one when things are clearer.
i would believe if an app cause the drain with the screen off then it is probably causing a wake lock.
which doesnt show at all. is there any otherway an app can drain the battery without wakelock?
Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk 2
I don't really see drain? 2% an hour is not that much. In my opinion it's normal.
If you insist on lowering it, then try the following:
- Different rom
- Different modem
- New battery
And search for some guides to lower your battery usage.
You have to experiment yourself.
it didnt use that much before. in 15 hrs i got a bit over an hour screen time before it hit 0.
anyway, just loaded romswitcher, going to see if it happens with CM too. and airplane mode on.
starting to think the battery is going bad already

I average about 0.5% drain during sleep.
See the link in my signature to find out how. I've got a whole guide.
Have you checked the serial number on your battery? If it starts with BD then it's stuffed Samsung should still swap it for free I think.
thanks for all the replies guys.
yes 0.5 drain should be normal when it sleeps.
just tried this using CM rom and it looks all good there, so its not the battery.
going to remove some experimental settings in greenify to see if that helps.

In recent memory I've noticed that I'm losing a significant chunk of battery even with the screen off.
Looking at this screenshot from GSAM battery monitor, I've barely been using my phone while it sits on my desk but the battery has dropped 25% with the wifi looking like it's been active the entire time.
How should I go about figuring out which offending app is causing this?

Turn off keep WiFi on during sleep in advanced WiFi menu.

It's no longer in that location, see above.
wifi scanning has been turned off in location and it's still the same result.
OP, I have the same problem and it eats the battery. It happens everytime I take my phone off charger, turn wifi on, browse some Internet, turn the wifi off. WIFI stays on according to battery stats. The only thing that helps is to slide the wifi toggle on in setting and then off and reboot.
Does this seem like normal battery life for the OP2? Had a OPO before and got slightly better battrey. Running stock Oxygen OS ATM with Boeflla Kernel and ZZIMMELP profile. Data + wifi on, screen 50%, gps off. Cheers lads!

For me that's bad. Uninstall facebook, eats your battery, use Facebook with a browser.

you cant say if its bad or not
1) you are using facebook - battery killer number one
2) you used spotify alot so you used a lot of mobile data - another big battery killer
3) is it with or without wifi all the time? cause signal is also another battery drain indicator if you are moving much during the day you will lose more battery cause your mobile phone change signal positon
i think its preety good for the setup with using spotify and facebook app - i got 1 1/2 hour with 50% left after a 12 hours without wifi and 6 hours without using the phone cause i am sleeping

I know about Facebook, may give the browser a go for a while! Regarding Spotify, 90% of my music is stored offline, so I suppose I should just put it in offline mode to try save a bit of battery. (I've unlimited data) and yeah, WiFi only has signal at home. I'll keep it off while I'm out.
Anyone have this issue, after 3 reboot i have this

Hy,i bought the P8 Lite for about,3 weeks ago,on the third day i made the update to the last version of Android 6.0. Everything was fine until about one week ago when i put a second sim card, after a day the battery started to drain very fast, like 15% to 20%/h on screen with mobile data activated and like 25% to 30%/h when gaming with mobile data. It's very strange because, before i put the second sim card the battery drain was like maximum 10%/h on screen with mobile data and maximum 16%/h when gaming with mobile data. And the difference between the hardware and software was like 40% software and 60% hardware. Now it's going crazy, software 8% to 12% and hardware 88%to 92%. The screen use like 55%... It;s such a big difference and i want to know why is this happening. I want to say that i took the sim card out 3 days ago and today i made a factory reset but no result.
BIG EDIT: I made a quick test and everything's going crazy. So, with mobile data activated on 3g/2g using only whatsapp the battery drained 4% in 5m and 12s,as you can see in the photo below.
On the other photo you can see a 2% drain in 5m and 54s,mobile data activated on 4g/3g/2g (So it used 4g) and using ASK.fm,Instagram and WhatsApp.

Thanks for that :good:
Please help, the problem isn't solved. After some factory reset and some android changes the battery drain like 25% to 30% on internet browsing (Google Chrome and data). Is that ok ?
