Hy,i bought the P8 Lite for about,3 weeks ago,on the third day i made the update to the last version of Android 6.0. Everything was fine until about one week ago when i put a second sim card, after a day the battery started to drain very fast, like 15% to 20%/h on screen with mobile data activated and like 25% to 30%/h when gaming with mobile data. It's very strange because, before i put the second sim card the battery drain was like maximum 10%/h on screen with mobile data and maximum 16%/h when gaming with mobile data. And the difference between the hardware and software was like 40% software and 60% hardware. Now it's going crazy, software 8% to 12% and hardware 88%to 92%. The screen use like 55%... It;s such a big difference and i want to know why is this happening. I want to say that i took the sim card out 3 days ago and today i made a factory reset but no result.
BIG EDIT: I made a quick test and everything's going crazy. So, with mobile data activated on 3g/2g using only whatsapp the battery drained 4% in 5m and 12s,as you can see in the photo below.
On the other photo you can see a 2% drain in 5m and 54s,mobile data activated on 4g/3g/2g (So it used 4g) and using ASK.fm,Instagram and WhatsApp.

Hello and thanks for reading ,
I am experiencing a very bad tablet battery life since November 2013.In these past month's i have visited forums, flash factory OS,turned off the radio(and wifi), installed many battery saving apps (didn't work), boot safe mode(drain still there), rubbed snake oil(really dangerous) and the battery still drains faster than a monsoon gutter.
Below is a screen shot of the tablet after I left it to idle for one night .

Any suggestions in solving of the problem are much appreciated and no ,i do not like 4.4.2 cause it breaks my FLAC playback (and still [email protected]% perhour)(currently running 4.3)
Thanks and regards shinra_co
I've got exactly the same problem; battery drains very quick even with airplane mode on. Tablet Idle is the culprit according to the power settings. I wonder what this means and how to solve this issue. can hardly use the tablet, i always need to recharge it.

Same here, and this just started a couple of days ago. Usually, with my usage pattern, I only needed to recharge once a week. Just over night this changed to nightly... Quite annoying.

Registering only to add my "me too" to this problem. The battery is depleted in a few hours (6 to 10) when the tablet is turned off, no sleeping, turned off, even after using the recovery menu option in order to force the power down. It is always lightly hot to the touch when it is automatically discharging, again when turned off.
This is my first Asus device and I am trying to request a refund, I don't want a new device, or a repaired one. I want my money back. I am not sure this will happen because it was bought on December, but this is not tolerable
5 Months in and various updates later (KK 4.4.4 KTU84P right now).
The battery still drain away @ 5.0 per hour minimum.
As per original post, I have still not been able to find the source of the drain.
wakelock detector, better battery stats and battery doctor have been of little help this past months.
Assuming it is not software related, what are the chances it is the hardware ie the battery itself being the culprit.
if so i think i'll wait for the rumored 8" nexus tablet.
Hi,
This is my first ever post. I'm having nexus 4 from past 1.5 years and very inexperienced user in terms of development stuff. I dont know if my battery is gone n i should buy new one or just the processes running up. Earlier when i used to wake up after 6-7 hours of sleep i could see only 10% max battery drain. But nowadays I have never seen my mobile in 'Switched On' mode after i wake up. It goes from 100% to 0% in 7-8 hours.
When i went to battery to check whats sucking up the battery, its all 'Android OS', 'Screen', 'Cell standby' and 'Google play services'. I dont know how to even root the phone. Please help.. I have also put location settings as 'Off'. Tried Googling and done everything since 10 days.. plz help... Please HELP me..!!
Please help me.. dont just view my post.. PLz... Shall i buy a new battery or a new phone??

Factory reset to see if you get a better battery life. 7-8 hours is what i usually normal work day use. With lollipop i get a little bit better. You can send it to LG or buy a battery for the phone.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
I had exactly the same problem after the OTA update. Google Play Services, Android System & Android OS were all tanking the battery. After 6 hours, with 30 minutes of screen on, the battery was down to 54%.
A factory reset had no effect. Neither did a complete wipe and install with the factory image. I went back to KitKat and now the battery use is how it used to be.
Sorry, but all I can suggest is try going back to 4.4.4 and if the battery is fine it obviously doesn't need replacing.
Somethign similar happens to my Nexus 4 with Lollipop. The battery drains while the movile is off!!
I turn movile off at night with 99% of battery and when i turn it on in the morning it shows only 1% of battery remaining.
The battery history shows that the wifi is active while the movile is off!!!
Here is the screenshot. Dunno what to do with that problem.

Hey.. This was actually started from October with 4.4.4 only.. And i thought lollipop would fix all the problems. So i think there's no point in going back to 4.4.4. Please see the attachment and see.. I don't know where they have mentioned rest of the battery
Those are strange Battery stats. I've never seen anything like that. It doesn't show anything.
If 4.4.4 was no good, you could try going back to the last version that was good.
Does this seem like normal battery life for the OP2? Had a OPO before and got slightly better battrey. Running stock Oxygen OS ATM with Boeflla Kernel and ZZIMMELP profile. Data + wifi on, screen 50%, gps off. Cheers lads!

For me that's bad. Uninstall facebook, eats your battery, use Facebook with a browser.

you cant say if its bad or not
1) you are using facebook - battery killer number one
2) you used spotify alot so you used a lot of mobile data - another big battery killer
3) is it with or without wifi all the time? cause signal is also another battery drain indicator if you are moving much during the day you will lose more battery cause your mobile phone change signal positon
i think its preety good for the setup with using spotify and facebook app - i got 1 1/2 hour with 50% left after a 12 hours without wifi and 6 hours without using the phone cause i am sleeping

I know about Facebook, may give the browser a go for a while! Regarding Spotify, 90% of my music is stored offline, so I suppose I should just put it in offline mode to try save a bit of battery. (I've unlimited data) and yeah, WiFi only has signal at home. I'll keep it off while I'm out.
Anyone have this issue, after 3 reboot i have this

Hello,
I'm a new guy to the forums here, at least posting...
My Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo is having huge problems with battery, for example, today I used the phone just in the morning for about 15-20mins and 1h ago, with the phone sitting unused here, it was giving me a 7% battery warning, I went to see it and it looked like this:

NOTE: The wifi was off all along, you can see the phone is on mobile data (really turned off, not just disconnected).
This has been happening for about a month now, the phone is just 1 year old, the battery has no bulge at all, I have uninstalled alot of apps that I don't use in hopes of fixing this and nothing... Even using the Eco mode of the phone that downclocks the processor, its not enough.
Does anyone have any idea of what may be happening?
The
first thing then for you to do would be to check if any apps are
misbehaving and consuming more battery than they should. Depending on
the app and its utility, you should be able to figure it out easily. If
you think any app is consuming more battery, you can report the issue to
the developer and find an alternative in the meantime.
Here are some tips, how it works for you : http://www.syncios.com/android/how-to-improve-android-battery-life.html
Hi,
Yes, misbehavior of apps could certainly be a reason. If uninstalling apps doesn't work, try a factory reset. Remember to backup all your important data first though.
You can try my thread about saving battery for our phone and tell me if it changed something for you!
Good luck

Me too I'm facing the same issue. I replaced the battery twice but the problem persists, I think this is related to the power integrated circuit.
me too but now i'm using galaxy grand battery and it is very fine
The last year I had the battery that was shipped with my i9301i (manufactured and assembled in China) and the power conspution was crazy and the battery dropped with no sense... I then replaced it with the original S3's battery (made in korea) and now it is working perfectly fine.
I think that a lot of Neo's battery are of low qulity for reducing the costs....

Are you using WIFI Direct?
S3 Neo has bogus battery indicator, sometimes my phone stuck at some percent (for example 47) and when I put it on idle after minutes battery is 39%. Buggy indicator, I don't know for the battery. I'm using original Samsung battery and it drains when in AIRPLANE mode (wtf) ...
P.S. Reflash your device using NAND erase all and EFS clear in Odin (I flashed with these more than 20 times and my phone works PERFECT!) I mean clean flashing with wiping all data on the phone. Now my battery is not draining in airplane mode but still have the buggy indicator. Custom roms like Cyanogenmod12.1 are cool but have some bugs, I'm with the stock rom now
I recently bought the lg g6 h870 for europe and i saw that phone idle is eating like 46-50% and android os is eating like 22-25%.This morning i saw that phone idle ate like 75%.Is that even normal.I have to mention that i am on july security patch due to the lack of updates for europe.Anybody knows how to stop phone idle using that much,or i have to wait untill oreo?

We have to wait. This is most likely because of Android 7.0 idle battery drain bug which causes "Phone idle" to be very high and battery-hungry.
I have tried greenify and i have location turned off wifi off bluetooth nfc all are off and i am still getting like 77% phone idle and 22 percent android os while screen is eating only 20% and other apps 2-7%.I am really getting desperate.

Yes, as I mentioned, 7.0 is bugged and there are loads of similar topics not only here, on G6 forum, but also on Nexus, Samsung, Sony forums.
Most of them are connected with "Phone idle" issue.

That's nice mine consumes over 2000Mah over the same amount of time.
Hi all, got H870DS model a week ago and on the first run used LG Mobile Switch as suggested by the device. Transferred all data and settings from G4, all good, didn't take very long. The first 48 hours were quite bad: 2-3% of battery every hour when idling.
Tried Greenefy, all those things, but with no root - poinless. Tried phone hidden menu as well.
Then I downloaded and applied one of the latest HK firmware - still the same.
Note that all this time the phone had no SIM, but was connected to WiFi with all social apps running on background.
Then I decided to go long way: back to factory settings and update the phone in portions. Log in Google account, basic apps - and leave the phone for 2-3 hours. Another 2-3 apps and wait again.
Last ones - social and messengers: one by one, like on the minefield. Folio used instead of FB.
Result: 0% drain overnight. 1% used in the last 14 hours.
Happy with that.
Not sure what kind of settings were transferred from G4 to G6, but that obviously was the reason (in my case) for the drain.
