Hi,
This is my first ever post. I'm having nexus 4 from past 1.5 years and very inexperienced user in terms of development stuff. I dont know if my battery is gone n i should buy new one or just the processes running up. Earlier when i used to wake up after 6-7 hours of sleep i could see only 10% max battery drain. But nowadays I have never seen my mobile in 'Switched On' mode after i wake up. It goes from 100% to 0% in 7-8 hours.
When i went to battery to check whats sucking up the battery, its all 'Android OS', 'Screen', 'Cell standby' and 'Google play services'. I dont know how to even root the phone. Please help.. I have also put location settings as 'Off'. Tried Googling and done everything since 10 days.. plz help... Please HELP me..!!
Please help me.. dont just view my post.. PLz... Shall i buy a new battery or a new phone??

Factory reset to see if you get a better battery life. 7-8 hours is what i usually normal work day use. With lollipop i get a little bit better. You can send it to LG or buy a battery for the phone.

I had exactly the same problem after the OTA update. Google Play Services, Android System & Android OS were all tanking the battery. After 6 hours, with 30 minutes of screen on, the battery was down to 54%.
A factory reset had no effect. Neither did a complete wipe and install with the factory image. I went back to KitKat and now the battery use is how it used to be.
Sorry, but all I can suggest is try going back to 4.4.4 and if the battery is fine it obviously doesn't need replacing.
Somethign similar happens to my Nexus 4 with Lollipop. The battery drains while the movile is off!!
I turn movile off at night with 99% of battery and when i turn it on in the morning it shows only 1% of battery remaining.
The battery history shows that the wifi is active while the movile is off!!!
Here is the screenshot. Dunno what to do with that problem.

Hey.. This was actually started from October with 4.4.4 only.. And i thought lollipop would fix all the problems. So i think there's no point in going back to 4.4.4. Please see the attachment and see.. I don't know where they have mentioned rest of the battery
Those are strange Battery stats. I've never seen anything like that. It doesn't show anything.
If 4.4.4 was no good, you could try going back to the last version that was good.

Take a look I am running SC 2.4 and I had my data on and I went to 79 percent battery in a little over an hour mostly on standby just now I charged my phone to 100 percent and its at 90 while leaving wifi on and a phone call

EB01 has a bug in its sensor code, so turning off AutoRotate will help. It's still not a WHOLE lot better, but it's at least serviceable that way.
Hopefully, the rumors about the update/OTA were true, and we'll see an updated build (EB09 is sticking in my brain for some weird reason, but don't take that as anything real) that fixes the sensor code and anything else that's eating up battery.
Did you do all the flashing when at 100% battery? It's possibly your battery stats are just inaccurate.
Let the phone charge to 100%, then with the phone still plugged in, shut it down so you get JUST the charging screen, and let that go to 100%. Then, boot into CWM and delete battery stats, and then go back to the powered-off-charging-screen and let it go back to 100%, then boot back into your OS. Some people recommend draining the battery most all the way, then charging it back up, but I'm not sure if that's really necessary.
Also, apparently there's a GPS bug in EB01 which causes it not to sleep, which'll drain your battery fast as well (though I don't see the GPS icon on your screen). You might also have some battery hog in the background slaughtereing battey life (the battery use screen might be able to lend some help for that).
Try using an app called juice defender, I found it to help my battery a lot.
SC 2.4 hides the icon.
I was getting a wakelock from Android System earlier today, but that has finally resolved itself and my phone is sleeping now.
I am not a noon so I know about wiping batt stats and did that I have used juice defender before but I just don't see a whole reason that it should drain that quick

No issues with battery life AT ALL with EB01. In fact, the BEST battery life I've EVER gotten, even better than Adrynalyne's UV kernels (no offense bud)
Yesterday, I unplugged around 10, got off work work at 830, was home by about 930, and STILL had some 34% left, 11 hours later. I'VE NEVER been able to go that long on a single charge. And I leave auto-rotate on.
What REALLY helped me, was turning off the GPS when not in use. MAN....what a difference !!!!
This has happened multiple times on my Galaxy s4. Today was the worst however. My phone was on 51% battery (supposedly) and then, the phone just turns off while I was in an app, without any kind of low battery warning, it was running as normal before this happened, I start the phone up again and bam, 1% battery remaining. Here it is on the battery screen:

My battery was dead by 2pm in the day which is also significantly worse than normal. This is with just 45 minutes screen on time:
and just 7 hours on battery:
And with no apps sucking up battery life.
Has anyone had this issue before and is there any possible way to fix this?
Charge to 100%. Pull battery. Put it back in and charge it again while off to 100%. If that doesnt fix it then get a new battery.

Hi ,
It could be lots of things...battery , phone not going in deep sleep , settings
First thing I would do is use an app like Better Battery Stats and really see what is going on ( kernel wakelocks) , who is keeping the phone up all the time , then i would review all my settings like FB , mail , location ...any syncing related app that may be going crazy and of course battery may be going bad
Look like a bad/faulty battery for me.
Sent from my GT-I9500
Keep in mind that battery percentage is never 100% accurate. All devices with batteries (with a percentage meter) has this.
But yeah, use better battery stats to check wakelocks.
Also a trick to calibrate the fuel gauche chip is to take out the battery for 3-5 minutes. It will be more calibrated than before.
Hi,
In these past couple of days i have noticed that suddenly my s5 is draining battery life for no reason. Its discharging 30% overnight without being used, when before would be less than half of that and the battery, with moderate use, is not lasting me to the end of the day like it used to.
I went to see the battery usage on settings and there isn't anything unusual in there. However, im only getting ~1h30 of SOT.
Im on lollipop 5.0 and haven't made new updates (it also says there are no updates available).
Anyone with the same problem? What can i do? Is there an app that gives me a more in-depth information than the stock android one of where this battery is being used?
Thank you!
Boot to recovery and clear the cache, might be a rubbish file causing it

Good idea! I will try that.
I do use ccleaner on it from time to time to clean some temporary files that are taking up space, but it might not have access to the files the recovery has.
I took screenshots of the battery usage to give a better idea:

Did you ever end up solving this? because i have the exact same problem and have been getting horrible battery usage, around the same as you...the battery will drain like 3% percent, even more an hour even when in deepsleep!!??
I have tried to solve it by narrowing down wakelocks in better battery stats and everything but nothing is helping, and the wakelocks aren't substantial anyway.... Totally clueless as to what could be wrong...

I did was suggested here. Went into recovery and cleared the cache. I think i also ran ccleaner after just in case, but i think it was the clear cache that did it. Try it out, it worked for me
Hello everyone,
My Discovery elite battery is draining pretty quickly. When it shuts down and I start charging it it starts charging from 0% but when I reset the phone while charging it jumps directly to 24 percent.
I changed my rom, cleared battery stats couple of times, used battery fix and calibrator apps and nothing worked.
Android system and the apps are saying that my battery's health is good, what do you think?
What should I do?

I thought it was just me. I also experience the same problem. It shuts down prematurely or drains fast. After being off for a few minutes and starts it my batt would show it at around 24% again.

Can confirm this is happening to me as well
Are you running a custom ROM? I'm on 4.4.2 AOSP posted by Muratt19
This actually happens in all roms that I used. Even the stock roms.

Have you considered buying a new battery? Thinking of buying a new battery but afraid of wasting 30€ if it's a phone issue

I'm buying a different phone. They practically do not have support in the Philippines anymore. No Service centers as well.
Hi, I've got a problem with my P9Lite for a few days now.
Over night the battery decreases from 23% to 2%, but there are no apps running. This happens always somewhere around 30%, then the battery drops by 15-20%.
In the second screenshot you can see the batterymanager, it seems like the phone is completely shut down but it was always on.
The battery was new, the old battery now has the same problem.
Has anyone an idea?
Thank you?

Hi,
I've been on holidays for a few days and now I'm back.
Here's a screenshot from the time where the battery life decreases.
The battery had about 13% when I laid it aside, in the morning the phone was dead.
When rebooting I saw that the battery continuously decreased. WLAN was off, it just laid on the table.
Is it really the facebook app causing this drain with less than 1mAh?
Thank yoU!

ok,check this.
kill all apps from recent screen.
clear cache from recovery mode.
Ok, I have blocked the apps and set them as "close when phone is in standby".
I will keep you updated.
Thanks

So now after about 1 month the problem seems to be gone. I don't know why I had to force closing apps but it worked.
Thank's for your help!!
