Is there a way to go back to 4.2.2 from 4.4.2?
Reason being, it's a pain to root, and also get TWRP working on it.
I've tried all the possibilities, and nothing works.
The LG Mobile support tool keeps downloading the latest firmware, which is the KK one.
Anyone tried successfully downgrading back to JB?
see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698401
I saw that.
The problem with that thread is, the OP posted it when LG servers still had V50010A.
Now their servers are all KK rom. So it will automatically download the KK rom.
I'm trying to find a way to get back to 10A from 20B.
Hello,
I upgraded to KK and for root i go here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703825 .Then try this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2641409 . If everything go well you can install from recovery this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719411.

The root works, but installing TWRP is not working. That is only designed for 10a/b/c.
No TWRP for 20b.
Anyone else have ideas of how to get TWRP on 4.4.2 aka 20b for the V500?

Ok, I finally successfully got it back to 4.2.2 aka 50010a.
I followed this guide, which is for the G2, but works in the same way.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625044
The KDZ file, which is the stock ROM file, can be obtained here:
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG G Pad 8.3/&sort=size&order=desc
No root required.
For those wishing to revert back to 4.2.2 from 4.4.2, this is the only way, after doing hours of research.
Whether you don't like KK, its stupid extSD restriction, or can't find support for KK, this is a sure way of getting back to JB.
Instructions:
- Read the first thread and download the files the OP tells you to. Follow the instructions.
- Make sure the device is in download mode (Vol Up + Vol Down + Insert USB) before the flash.
- Wait for flash to complete
- LG logo boot loop
- Factory Reset (Power Key + Vol Down until LG logo appears, then let go, then hold all 3 buttons simultaneously)
- Pure stock 50010a + no trace of root

Can't Make it work
I have followed the instructions to the letter. and can get part of the way through but the just stops before it has started the actuall flashing process. Any ideas?
Thanks

When I click on "Upgrade Start", LG Mobile Support Tool start, but nothing happens...
Just went back to JB (from my original nandroid backup) today. This device just hates KK, no matter what rom. It's one laggy piece of s**t on KK for some reason? All smooth now, but I hate it for being so
Well, I was able to go back to 4.2.2. Ugliest thing I've had to do with an Android device so far. This is more or less what the guy in Post #7 did, but using a slightly different method.
I obtained the 4.2.2 KDZ file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51468259&postcount=8
Then, I watched this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVcZpQhQYnk
Pay close attention to the links.
Basically, the LG customer service tool defaults to pulling the latest ROM from LG's servers. Somebody has leaked an internal testing tool for the customer service tool. Using a small http server, you can intercept the customer service tool's calls to the LG server, and have it "download" the KDZ of your choice from within your own computer. This involves hacking hosts file entries and some other stuff, but at least someone's put it all into one rar archive here:
http://oceanhost.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Software/KDZ+Method/
That link belongs to this guy, whose page is used in the YouTube video above:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45293512&postcount=1
It didn't really come together for me until I read this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498102
That should do it.
Three things -- First, much of the supporting info was developed on the G2 and other LG devices, but the G Pad works the same -- you just have to be sure to only use G Pad content!
Second, at the end you could find yourself in a bootloop, as I did. Note that the threads warn about this. Hold down Power to shut the tablet off, then use the recovery mode sequence to do a factory reset.
And finally, it's probably possible to downgrade aboot.bin and the laf partition so you can flash a compatible recovery, all from inside ADB. But IMO this was too risky because I think you'd be overwriting some of the stuff you need for a last-ditch factory recovery if all else fails.
I hope this helps. It's fugly as hell, but it was nice to see that tool start flashing my KDZ into the tablet after two hours. Maybe this'll help make it even easier for the next guy.
Thread reopened.

That method looks like it works if you have a custom recovery. Does it work if you have a rooted stock 4.4.2 build and a stock recovery?
The procedure here will revert a stock 4.4.2 to stock 4.2.2, which is helpful for getting onto a custom recovery. There are certainly other ways to do that, but I can't tell if your link is one of them, meanoc.

Don't have a clue if it works on stock builds. I assume that most on XDA aren't running w/o root and recovery. Kind of like reading Hot Rod and driving a Chevette But you make a valid statement which I didn't think of :good:

About phone not being detected:
1. Be sure you have done all steps correctly(Correct Driver installation, especially model specific drivers if you can find // installed msxml.msi-if you haven't already, find it, install it and restart- // having windowsenabler.exe running and - On ) before starting the procedure.
2. You should also disable the LG modem driver.
3. I also propose doing the flashing in Emergency Download Mode and without the battery.
The above are mainly for the phone to be detected.
You said you had other problems too. What errors do you occur to? You have upgraded to v20b and cannot ... downgrade? V20b worked? Are you able to re-install it?

Will try again today..
Hope I can make it!
Yeah..another issues is still on v20a, it also made a mess when updating to CM10 (latest update) NO RADIO SIGNAL (just like other said), and some game not working properly with stock v20a (Real Racing always force to close, smoother when i'm using v10f france+CM10).
The big point is My LG L7 with CM10 still smoother even it still not in alpha.

I meant upgrading issues.
If your only issue is that your phone is not connected that's the easy part and you don't have to worry. There's no driver that cannot be found and correctly installed ....! :

In this thread we will write our impressions of these pre-release of the new update to the D855 G3 32GB. invite you to post your reviews on the experience they had in the test rom.
10E links to download the version here(http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW382306432109876543213/D85510E_00.kdz)

links to download the 10G version here (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1SWc_D3QTEiLVdyeklVZWhoMkk/edit) Password: lgbbs
Guide to flash the ROM :
Download the latest drivers from Lg here
Download the new 2014 LG Flash tools from here
Connect the terminal to the PC via USB cable and wait for the installation of the drivers
Disconnect the terminal, spengetelo (wait a few seconds after Off) press volume up and reconnect the USB cable to start the download mode.
Launch Lg Flash tools (previously installed)
In the " Select type "will have to be CDMA , in " Phone mode "will be DIAG , in " Reset time "should be 33000
Open the KDZ file selection window and make sure the " Select KDZ file "there is the file you have downloaded ( 10F or 10G )
Without this we have two more options. Normal Flash and Flash CSE
Normal Flash: A method that leaves data intact on the phone. should be used only to correct errors of the system (not flash rom other than this)
CSE Flash: command erases all data: This option is preferred.
Choosing this option will open another window where you will select START
Without this, it will open another window where you will select only OK
Wait until the end of the process and DO NOT DISCONNECT UNTIL THE END ACCORDING TO RESTART or RESTART
If you are not really sure about this refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
I just translated using Google Translator.

I'll try when I've get back home. Listening in, does all of them have the same changelogs plus national stuff or is there incremental changes between the different letters?
Hi, Many thanks for this, I have just about given up on receiving an OTA update for my unbranded UK 32GB D855.
Just few questions from a LG Noob.
Which version do you recommend I apply?
If it all goes wrong, Can I still factory reset?
Is it possible to apply root to 10f or 10g What is recommended?
Thanks Again.

I flashed v10e no problems, definite improvement with the laggy default launcher app drawer, feels like an improvement in battery life also, but can't be too certain as it hasn't had many days to settle.
Just after flashing I noticed v10f and then v10g arrive, so haven't tested those.
I rooted v10e with towelroot, but I heard towelroot and ioroot don't work on v10g, however I saw some people saying they rooted v10g with purpledrake. I don't know anything about v10f though.
Don't really know much else about the improvements or additions on all of these versions, but there should be some after all that's why they release later versions to improve, add and to iron out bugs.

So, I fudged up here. I installed a BUMPed KK bootloader thinking my kernel and recovery were BUMPed. Was using Render Kernel, turns out the Lollipop version is BUMPed, not KK. Good job, me! Got secure boot error loop and I still had TWRP, so I flashed the JB baseband. No boot. Tried to restore a backup I had (Mahdi + Render). No boot. Well, might as well use LG Flash Tools to go back to stock. Like I haven't done it 80 times before....Failed! Failed! Failed! . . . Failed! (I can't remember how many times I've tried).
I've tried every which way and LG Flash Tool gives me this:
PID: NULL
IMEI: NULL
Model :
DLL : D800
BIN : LGD800AT-01-V10o-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot
SWV :
SWOV :
Model Information Check FAIL!

So, am I royally screwed?
So you're stuck with black screen/frozen LG logo?

Did you maybe flashed another rom before or what because the LG Flash tool first checks as a safety measure or your phone is really D800, but you might have a mod or yeah I don't know what you all did but your phone Might is now D803 or some other number I don't know. But what you can do is edit the Dll with some hexeditor as far as I remember to D801, D803 etc Till flashing works.
So just edit the D800 DLL to think that it must check for another device model number which your rom has which you used last? And you should be fine with your issue and you can continue flash it to stock normally. I hope it's not too late for you yet cause it will spare you some bucks.

Or just try to find the good dll file, or a DLL file without checking phone model is maybe the best. I hope you can still fix your problem. Goodluck mate,

I LOVE YOU
I hex edited the DLL and TOT files. Turns out the TOT is what I needed to edit, not the DLL, as I could use the "universal" DLL. I started seeing the firmware being updated and said "O M G." My brain couldn't even comprehend it. :highfive:

Loki tools are only needed on jb. For kk and above all you need is autorec/bump for recoveries, if that's what your asking.

Thx for answer. What are jb, kk and bump!? AutoRec I did use, tried recoveries (cm13) nd phone died. I try to figure out what went wrong (see other post "help with LG G2 D802 - no recovery working, download mode only"). Thanks!

Alright I read your other thread. It still isn't clear where you went wrong. The twrp version that comes with autorec is outdated though and you should flash one of blastigator's builds before flashing any lollipop roms.
As your an ubuntu user you can use the lg flash tool on a windows vm. I've done it before and it works fine. It's pretty easy to set up just use vmware and then follow that back to stock guide.
Btw: jb = jellybean, kk = kitkat and so on.

Hey, thanks for answer. I tried the LG-Flash-Tool with virtualbox on Win7. It recognized the phone, tool started but aborted with an error I used 2 different kdz-files (one from hier with IMEI: "lg-firmware-rom.com", one from storage-cow: LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) from xda/hyelton -- D80230f_00 and D80220B) which gave both same error (not specified in the tool) aborting after 2% (also didn't find server due to restrictions from my side, but shouldn't bother, right!?).
Wanted also to try TOT-method, but don't know where to get corresponding TOT-file, any hints!?
What means "bump" and what is blastigators build?
Other advice appreciated! Is it ok or better to post in the other thread!? (LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock))

Take a look at this thread then. Also check device manager and make sure it's on com41, try different usb ports etc.

Thanks for your time!
Unfortunately thi post doesn't help, since I can't boot into recovery. Right now I tried some more things:
* different usb-ports -- no change (maybe it's because of usb3, but in VM only usb2 is enabled)
* different kdz-files: german kk D80220B
* tried to put the kdz-files into flash-plugin-folder (which for me seems senseless )
* tried diffenrent drivers -- now version LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.0.4
--> result ... now it's flashing till 3%! but still giving error ... shall I put log-file for further things!?
What calls my attention in log-File is this:
Code:
22:52:13 : Verifying phone connection...
22:52:13 : dwWaitResetTime(40000 ms)
22:52:14 : _IsConnectedPhone Call
22:52:23 : _IsConnectedPhone(2)
22:52:23 : 0 - NotConnected.
22:52:23 : 1 - Normal connect success
22:52:23 : 2 - Emergency connect success
22:52:23 : Phone Mode(2)

Hey, got it solved. My conclusion:
- virtual machine on Ubuntu doesn't work -- can't communicate with device -- windows machine worked
- usb3 doesn't work, use usb2-ports
- how to get into recovery-mode wasn't clear for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPUTImVEHqc (push Volume DOWN + Power -- when LG appears, leave them for 1-2 seconds -- then press them again)
- CM13 NIGHTLY doesn't work with LG D802 (also tried flashing blastagators build since AutoRec works (with KK) but is outdated)
Now do have a CM12 on my LG and everything works fine...
Hi everybody,
[First of all I'm french, so sorry for my bad english...]
For the past 3 hours I've tried to downgrade my tablet from Android 5 to Android 4.
I've followed the instructions, but I'm "stuck" while I'm flashing with Flash Tool lite (v. 5.4.2.0), my tablet reboot on the desktop during the process.
What I've done so far ?
I've installed :
- PhoneFlashTool_4.4.4.1_external_win32.exe
- iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-1.2.0.exe
- IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.5.0.exe
Then, I understood that before to go back to KitKat, I needed to change the bios (return to kitkat bios). I used : restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2
The procedure gone well (I think).
After that, I ran PhoneFlashTool_4.4.4.1, and I've ticked "force sparcing" to change size to 500mb, but when I've connected my tablet in USB Port (while it's on the droidboot screen), it didn't recognize my device...
So I've installed PlatformFlashToolLite_5.4.2.0_win32, instead.
With this version of the program my tablet is recognized, the flash started, but during the procedure my tablet reboot to the desktop, and after few minutes the connection is lost, and I've got an error message "flash failed".
I've tried to flash with debug usb tick, and not tick, same issue.
Few more info :
My tablet isn't rooted.
My computer is on Windows 7 64 bits Home Premium.
I don't really know what to do.
Is there something I did wrong ?
You need the kitkat rom to flash after you flash the bios
In the rom zip will be a flash.xml you select in phoneflashtool to flash the tab

Thanks for your response pug1 !
I forgot to mention in my thread that yes, I click "browse" and select flash.xml from the "target_bin" folder.
Here's what I got in Flash tool Lite's box :

Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/thi...-lenovo-yoga-tab-2-1050f-softbricked-t3319124 post 7 and there is all the files you need
Thanks, but I already have these archives :
- restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2 (restore-kitkat-bios-830-1050-v2.exe)
- yogatablet2-flash-tools-20150812 (IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.9.0, iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-1.2.0, PhoneFlashTool_4.4.4.1_external_win32)
- kitkat-YT2-1050F_S0198_150422_ROW (target_bin (file), tools file (with the programs to flash...)
Isn't it enough ?
Do you think I need one of the file you posted on the other thread ? (I ask, because I have a very bad internet connection...)
I think I found what I did wrong.
I pressed volume up & power to go to the droidboot screen, instead of volume up and down + power (fastboot).
I succeed to flash KK with the tab in fastboot :victory:
Thanks for your time !
Now I need to look into how to root the tab.
To unlock the bootloader go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/thi...yoga-2-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t3320327,post 4
Does it means that I need to unlock the boatloader to root the tab ?
Yes, unlock the bootloader then use this. http://tinyurl.com/zoapeyh for permanent TWRP
Do not forget to update to lollipop BEFORE doing the boot unlock and TWRP
OK, thanks. I hope it's "easier" than downgrade :s
Can you do me a favor ? ^^"
I read your post on the other thread, and I'm confused... I don't really know what I should type in cmd.
Can you highlight (quotation marks, or put them in bold) the commands that I need to type, please ?
Open a CMD window on your computer and type cd c:\ to get to just a c prompt.
Then type fastboot flash ESP This bit then should read the full location of the unzipped file that is patched.
An example like mine is fastboot flash ESP c:/adb/1050f-esp-patched.img , this is how I did mine and I have an unlocked bootloader and permanent TWRP

Do the upgrade to lollipop first then come back here for the rest of the instructions.
After you do the upgrade and unlock the bootloader ,have a read here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-t3322990, it might be easier, the post is by surdu_petru.
I don't want to go back to Lollipop, there are too much bugs :/ (wifi, the screen flicker on internet browsers, sometimes the tablet reboot for no reason, etc.).
I had enough of Lollipop...
Anyway, I want to stay on KK.

O.K, like you I had many problems with lollipop but after doing all this plus one or two other mods,my 1050 is very fast and stable,BUT it might not be the same for others.
Maybe one day, when I'll be motivate lol I'm "exhausted" by my 4 hours of struggle with the downgrade XD
(I suppose there are lots of manip to do for lollipop to be stable =_=), and/or when Lenovo will release a stable version of Lollipop.
How do I root from KK ?
In tried with Kingo Root, but it stucks à 10 % for maybe ~ 10 minutes.
EDIT : Can I use this method ? (though I'm not sure I understand everything... x_x)

I am not sure but I don't think you can on Kitkat
No root at all on KK ?
Edit : My tab flickers in games -_-"
I might reconsider my decision to not upgrade to Lollipop... o/
Where can I find the rom without the two last updates ? (december and march... problems appeared with these 2 patchs...)
Edit 2 : Is that one of the 2 files you uploaded ?
If so, which one do I have to DL ?
YT2-1050F_USR_S000198_1504220313_WW21_ROW (1).zip
YT2-1050F_USR_S100031_1506111400_WW52_ROW-(L).zip
S100031. You will then have 3 update to get to S100256. I have zero problems on latest update
Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Just remember if you upgrade and then root, you will not be able to take any more updates.
But saying all that, it's easy to get back to KitKat and start all over again.
OK, thanx both of you. :good:
I'll download YT2-1050F_USR_S100031_1506111400_WW52_ROW-(L).zip.
It's the same procedure with PhoneFlashTool/FlashToolLite ? :
- Vol up & down + Power (Fastboot mode)
- connect the tablet to the computer
- In PhoneFlashTool click browse and select flash.xml from the "target_bin" folder
- start to flash ?
For the Lollipop updates (not sure I want to (re)install them), if I wait a little bit before root my device, I guess it will show via OTA, no ?

Just do an ota of the first update to lollipop and then refuse the rest.
