so from the galaxy s4 and now s5 there is a mode that activates in bright sunlight that is a super boost brightness mode, and so far i have only seen it work with the stock auto brightness setting checked
basically while under direct sunlight you will can toggle the auto brightness on/off and see the difference, it takes about 5 seconds for the super boost mode to kick in with auto checked, it goes far beyond 100% slider bar setting
now i love Lux Lite which lets you customize auto brightness settings but it is unable to access the super boost mode, i tested this yesterday for several minutes, has anyone been able to get this to work?

Guys,
Just wondering if there's any mods or tweaks we can do to adjust the auto brightness on the Nexus 7. Under normal indoor conditions, it's just way too low. I can turn it off and keep it around 50%, which is better, but if I step outside into the sun, I then have to manually turn it up again.
Are there any tweaks we can do to turn the auto brightness up so I can keep it on but have a brighter screen?
There are these apps:

They seem to do what you are after, setting your own preset levels for the auto brightness?
My g2 is very slow to come to full brightness after unlocking it. Is this normal? With auto brightness turned off it isn't a problem.
It does this even without unlock or root. I use LUX. Stock auto is horrible. Jagged and slow.
Yeah I'm giving lux a try now
Seems like an odd thing to overlook....
No
thanks
It's on the Tab Pro and Tab S
In "Settings->General->Power Saving" there's an option to enable Screen Output Mangement. This will automatically lower brightness to save power...
...not sure if it act as a auto-brightness depending on the light in the room you're in but give it a try!
Pretty weird samsung didn't include auto brightness on all the tab 3 models this was present.
Don't mean to necro this thread but the Samsung+ application (device health monitor?) has a setting under battery life that can trigger auto brightness if you want. My tablet doesn't have a normal auto brightness so I have to use that.
Does anyone know if this is possible? At night with auto brightness enabled, my phone is so dark, I have to go adjust the brightness so I can read the screen.
you can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vito.lux&hl=de to set your own auto brightness profile,
there is also a free version of the app
Hello,
is it possible to disable sunlight mode on the S8? I want to use the adaptive brightness feature and it works like a charm with the learning factor. Only one thing bothers me, the max brightness is locked, i can't set the brightness bar down. Only this message appears: maximum brightness for visibility under sunlight and it resets to max brightness.
I don't want to use the manual mode, switching everytime is anoying
no one an idea?
