hi guys my left speaker on the bottom is not working i'm on indian stock rom rooted.. 32G model...
does it works or they drilled the same holes for the mic ? it is pretty lame if the did this on purpose..

its the mic speaker is on only one side, its the same for all phones with this design :|

thanx for clearing it up..
u mean all unibody phones are like this ? HTC ? anyways thanx fr clearing it up..

Well HTC has front facing, i phone is a better examples because phones still have 1 speaker.
So it can be on only one side other side mic goes it would look asymmetrical and odd if the speaker holes were drilled only one side.

[PROB] Touch makes ratling noise

Hey there,
My HD makes a resonating / ratling noise when I tap my finger on the camera area at the bakside.
Is someone else experiencing this too?
I tried twisting it a bit, pressing between fingers but it still resonates.
Is this perhaps the G-sensor / accelometer?
I've also noticed that, even with the stylus removed, if you hold the HD in one hand and tap it against you other hand, you can hear something move.
Now that you mention it, I guess it must be the G-sensor!
So.... is it?!
A small rattling is probably the G-sensor, my K850 makes a small noise due to it too.
It's the G Sensor. Give it a shake and you'll hear it carry on for a few seconds with your ear near the phone.
G-sensor? Not likely
I do not think so. G-sensors are solid-state devices: no moving pieces inside.

Well accelerometer then, it's definately one of the two.
Well, the sensors do have moving parts - but I was fairly sure that those are of microscopic proportions (micromachined silicon).
I would be surprised if it was that.
Perhaps there's a hidden tray inside with a ball-bearing, necessary to run "teeter"
Today the messenger from Vodafone at my house to exchange the HD.
Guess what... the new one made the same noise.
A light resonating noise at the camera area at the back.
The messenger took the new one with him and left me my old one.
Vodafone will get in touch with me he said.
Anybody else experiencing this noise here?
Rattling htc hd
Yes mine does this - I think its the camera.
Take an extreme close up and you will hear the same rattle/click noise as if something drops back in to place following the close up focus...
Rattling noise here too.

HA, i knew that game seemed too lifelike
It's the 3.5 mm socket for your headphones jack, was bugging me for a while and got to the bottom of it. Insert your earphones/headphones jack, noise goes away..
I think you will find that it will be the lens in the camera. As I am sure you know this is an auto focus camera and of course that will need a moving lense body. G-Sensors and accelerometers are the same thing and indeed solid state, or pretty much anyway. It is not the headphone jack and I must say...if the noise bothers you... just don't tap the camera! Simple!
Please FOR THE SAKE OF GOD does your device also make rattling noise when you tape on the camera cover ?? Please we need to know because this issue is getting annoying !!! Its been a month with HD and now I hear a rattling noise whenever i tap on the upper part of the backcover near the camera. I tried with another HD and IT DOES THE SAME THING
I emailed HTC a week ago about the problem and they responded by saying "The rattling sound shouldn't be any problem" which makes it sound like they know the Touch HD makes the rattling noise
Please could you share your experience here ?! I need to know if I have the right to return it back and ask for replacement. My BlueAngel was as solid as rock
The rattling can be annoying, but I find it's only really noticeable when the phone vibrates.

So you can also hear the rattling when u slap the backcover near the camera ? Is it a fault with the design ? Maybe the camera lens ? I can hear a similar sound when i take shots with the cam ( autofocus maybe ).

I do also hear it when I take shots when the camera starts auto focusing and when lightly tapping the back cover near the camera.
My older Diamond had the same problem.
Just the crap cameras HTC uses.

How pathetic, paying more than 1049$ for this machine and what a crappy built quality... screen bends when taping on it... backcover and usb cracking noise ( also near the volume buttons ) and now that freaking rattling noise.Absolutely crap.....
It must the mechanicals used for moving the lens during focusing.
Today I went to HTC dealer store nearby... I asked for a new device out of the box. Surprisingly, the new device also makes that rattling noise. I tend to believe it was meant to be done that way. Who knows... maybe its an option

Another mini Tear-down Just for the Speaker Specs

Guy's my Transformer right Speaker DIED.. So I wanted to see If I can fix it/Replace it. If ur in same boat as me. This might help a bit. I will try to find some replacement speakers and try to fix. Mean while if u know of any site which sells speaker with these specs please post here. Thanks in advance.
Speaker size 1 inch and 1/2 inch
Number on Speaker is 1415 OR 14L5 (my guess its 1415). here are some of the pic's.
It was easy to Tear down and Put it back.. Just make sure not to put force any place as the parts are super delicate.

what amazes me is the size of the speakers should put out a lot more sound than they do. Perhaps removing a few baffles to allow some resonance...without hurting the structural integrity AND MAXIMIZING THE EXTERNAL GRILL HOLES...
... All that AFTER your warrantee runs out of course.

I think even if we flip the speakers facing up (towards the back cover) it will significantly increase the sound. I ordered new set of speakers lets see how the experiments go

[SOLVED] Nexus 7 headphone jack problem - sound not coming from one side of earphone/

NOTE: This is not my solution... Credit goes to someone else
So I have been using nexus 7 for past 11 months... At first the headphone jack was working fine, I was getting good sound from both the ear buds but then it stopped working nd i never really cared about it because I use headphones with my nexus 7 less. But now that I got myself a JBL J04 I wanted to watch movies with these beasts on.... So i did some digging on net.
PROBLEM: The headphone jack is not working fine, it was giving sound in only one side of headphone(left one in my case) but when plugging a speaker jack it seemed to work fine. I have used both creative speakers and mini speakers. I have used mine skullcandy earphones and also jbl headphones but sound was only coming from one side... And in jbl headphones it was coming very very low.
SOLUTION: When you open up the back cover and see the loudspeakers module... There is somewhat copper conductive part revealed under those two loud speakers, and they gets in contact with the metal of back cover, when back cover is closed. So we need to TAPE THIS REVEALED COPPER side and voila mine headphones got working like a charm. For a good reference image is attached. This worked in my case so I dnt know maybe it will work for others or not. And yeah in my case I used black electrical tape.

Ur welcome bro
I know this is a bit late but after sending my tablet out for two RMA s for this problem I thought it was fixed. It's been off warranty since the end of July and yesterday the jack started screening up again with the left ear bud not working intermittently. If you tapped it it would come on and off. So I opened it up and tried this fix and it worked great. So much for Asus customer care I just needed electrical tape.
Thank you very much.

If speakers work fine, the problem might be in the headphone jack contacts, as was in my case. One of the contacts was broken and I could hear sound only from the right earphone. So I just put something between the jack and the back cover and now everything works great!

My problem is that it will not switch to the headphones when headphones are plugged in. It stays on speakers. Before I start digging around do any of you believe it is a hardware issue? I reset the tablet completely twice - didn't work.
Thank you

This post saved me a bunch of time and trial and error. I was not getting sound from my left headphone and found a small piece of plastic from packaging solved the problem. I just folded it to make it springy and tight when compressed and it just stuck to the input jack (I provided images). So when I snap the battery cover back on it pushes the headphone jack back into place. Free 5 minute fix.

Can anyone test if their sound is coming from only one speaker(the left one)? when I cover it with my finger, it gets really low, but the other one does absolutely nothing

Don't call me on this but from what I remember reading there is only one speaker in the bottom and the other side is the mic. I think it was just a symmetry thing.

The speaker is on the right side on the LG G2. The left speaker grill is just another mic inside. I think LG made 2 speaker grills for looks and symmetry.
Its like asking Apple why do they have 2 speaker grills on the bottom of the iPhone 5S when indeed it also only has 1 speaker as well which is on the right side and a microphone on the left side. Most people don't know that and assume Apple provides stereo sound with 2 speakers. Its just an aesthetic thing.

How many speakers in Nova plus?

I am checking if my phones is working fine. Since sound comes just from speaker in the bottom right. The left one if i cover the right speaker i cant heard any sound in the left speaker.
So this model has just one speaker? Or the left came dead on arrival
