Hey all. I've been using Trinity's kernel until yesterday when I flashed Motley's kernel. However the Trinity splash screen still shows at boot. How do I delete this one?

I assume you mean the boot animation, not the Google splash screen.
The file is stored in/system/media/bootanimation.zip
Change it with one you like from some other Room

Yes that's what I meant, thanks!

Can someone point me in a direction (this device or other) in order to change the boot splashscreen?

Sure. Are you rooted?
Sure. Yes.

The files are in qmg extensions. Same place as before.
System\Media
Looks like the old replace the zip may not work here. I'm sure a hacked kernel will or has been released. Not too sure since I just step on the scene.
I'm working on this though. Maybe someone can chime in for a better solution.
The boot animation and splash screen are different . splash screen would not be in /system

Hmmmmmm......Indeed.
I found a tool on IRC to help with compiling a rle file, however it seems the write protection enabled on the device keeps the change from sticking after reboot. Is there a write protection exploit for our device or even a way to flash it in there?

I'm coming across that problem too. *sigh* Start Up phone woes. :banghead:

Where are they then, im trying to get the yellow sprint boot screen back I lost it some how
Everytime I try to install a rom or any zip file in cwm, it could all files and everything but towards the end it says error loky-fying or something like that. Thanks to this my device was stuck in a boot loop for a while. It installs like 1/4 of the rom. Enough to see the boot logo and then it reboots.
I also got this error installing the white display and see through notification panel. Although it is working fully.

Cwm is poop, I agree lol
Will this delete app/user data? Flashing CWM did not
If so is there any known workaround at all?

Using WalcoMart's tools to revert to stock guide. I successfully flashed back to stock VS98010B but, I noticed that it skipped the Misc partition during the flash and I didn't see that any other time I flashed before that one. Is that a normal part of the process or will it cause problems for me?

It has a bunch of misc system hardware settings in it. Carrier, region, etc… Usually it should be left alone.
So it should be fine that it skipped it.
Thanks.
Good to know.

I'm having to go into the boot menu and use "standard bootup" to boot the device. When you go to power on the device it goes to black screen Ap fast boot. So I'm assuming the boot.IMG is messed up?
